Sometimes restaurants can be hit or miss when it comes to south beach. This one is a complete hit. I took my mom here for Mother's Day and we had an amazing experience. For starters we had half a dozen oysters. They were fresh and delicious. Our main dish was their branzino which comes with a salad and a side of their rice. Gerry our waiter recommended the mushrooms and that we share our main dish as it's a lot of food. I'm so glad we took his suggestions because it was amazing. The mushrooms were seasoned as if they were beef. So many flavors and a tangy sauce underneath. The Branzino was so fresh and flavorful as well. Located in the Fountain Bleu Hotel in Mid-Miami. There is a walkway between the restaurant and the beach so there's easy access to/from Miami Beach. There is plenty of seating areas under palm trees and umbrellas with a full bar in the middle and a live DJ. It's such a vibe here. We checked in the front and we were sat in about five minutes. While we were waiting, we see the DJ come out with a foghorn to get people pumped. I thought it was pretty cool to see, especially in Miami. We sat during lunch so I went for a chicken sandwich which came with fries. You can opt for a side salad instead. It was pretty good, but I wish it had more toppings to it. Fries were good too! I got a kids burger for my son and it was plain as well. I will say that my drink was really good. I decided to go with the Miami punch since I was in Miami. I do recommend that. Everything is typical Fontainebleau/Miami Beach overpriced with sandwiches hovering around the $30 mark, but you know what you're getting yourself into here. To their credit, the food was yummy. My friend ordered the lamb pita and I ordered the Moroccan Chicken Sandwich. The chicken sandwich has an olive tapenade that blends well with the chicken (I'm not a big fan of olives and I was still able to enjoy this dish). Our server was very friendly and fun to chat with. Fontainebleu has a few different restaurants on premises, and La Cote is a casual option near the pool, overlooking the beach. For poolside dining- the food is not bad at all. The fries are great, the sea bass was cooked well, and the octopus was tender. The flavors aren't punchy, but the food is again- not bad. My group also tried the lamb pita and chicken kabob plate which was generously portioned. The only reason I'm giving a 3 star rating instead of a 4 star is the price. With included gratuity, expect $70 a head for apps, entrees, and drinks which is steep for poolside dining- even in Miami Beach. read more

I was really excited. I sat by the bar and noticed a DJ playing music close by. The bar is popping with happy bartenders and customers. We are here twice while staying at Fountainbleu. They have a kids menu with hot dog, chicken fingers, etc. For the adults we tried the salmon which was perfect and the cauliflower. I liked the cauliflower spicing but it was a lot of cauliflower. Their menu is better than the beach menu so we ordered takeout from la Côte to take to the beach. read more

Food for Mother's Day was decent enough. We could have been told that the app special was $175, when most meals were in the $30 range. The major issue was the Valet Parking. It took us under 2 hours to eat. It took almost as long, in the heat, to get our car back from valet. We heard they had issues with valet, but couldn't imagine almost 2 hours it took for us, and tons of others, to get their cars back. Never saw so many so angry. Ambience and service was beautiful and I appreciated all the staff there that took care of me so dearly. The food was just not up to par for a restaurant in the FountainBleu Hotel in my opinion. I understand that there has been a lot of changes for them regarding management but the menu is quite small and not very cohesive. Additionally, the food was just worth the price and simply not good. I will say I loved the Pina Colada I had it was very well balanced and delicious. I got the wings and the calamari for starters which weren't too bad maybe a 7/10. For the entree I got the chicken kebab and they were just a huge let down, just dry and lacking flavor. I hope management decides to bring back some of the old popular dishes or continue to add on to this one but some change is needed. This spot has a lot of potential. read more

What a fun bar! This spot between the pool and beach is perfect for a vacation. The DJ was playing great party music, and the bar staff would sometimes spray CO2 cannons just like a Miami club. The Miami Vice was very refreshing, and the staff was attentive. La Cote is a great time. read more

Decided to pop in for lunch to see the menu board they had just outside the establishment by the boardwalk to be a bit different from the one that was given to me. My husband and I had are eye on the chicken schnitzel lunch that they didn't have anymore so that was a bit of a bummer so we just decided to get an app and some water to hydrate a bit. Since we were spending the day at the pool, wanted to get a convenient lunch. The berry lemonade and watermelon cocktail were both so, so good. My husband really liked his pita and I was happy with my burger. The patio seating is comfortable but there is a squirrel that is all too comfortable around guests. This animal was jumping on chairs while people were sitting in them, like over and over again. It was terrorizing this one woman until staff moved her to another table. The service was a bit of a miss at La Cote the day we visited. It was a hot Miami day and our waiter took over 10 minutes to bring water. Our other drinks took double the amount of time than the water, so our food came out just after we got our drinks. I had the Scallops and Quinoa Salad, both were flavorsome. The Quinoa Salad had beets, kale, ricotta salata topped with an orange vinaigrette. The scallops were light and cooked to perfection. I must admit I ate my entire meal and was extremely full. Their pricing is a little high (even for Miami) and add the service charge to have not grand service. But with great views of the pool and ocean, I think that's why they have a large following. read more

You get a three first and second courses - one of each which are vegan: Crudités and Charred Cauliflower (vegetarians, there's also a quinoa salad with ricotta*). Crudités consisted of zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, celery, somethingI couldn't identify and watermelon radish. Refreshing, light and healthy way to start a much needed lunch. Really dug the hummus. Not sure the included green goddess dressing was vegan. Seemed more like some kind of ranch or yogurt sauce (not my area). Vegans- I'd recommend skipping this. *vegans- if you want to opt for the quinoa, mixed greens and pomegranate salad - just order without the ricotta and you've got another light and healthy option. Charred cauliflower came with couscous, hummus and garam masala. Fantastic! Cauliflower was perfectly done and the garam masala was on point. 5 stars all the way. This is a 4 star mostly because of the following: The complete confusion, lack of communication and blank stare from the hostess and their partner lol we had to be very assertive and pull up the Miami spice website to be given a Miami spice menu. That's why the 4-stars....because of the multiple levels of weird we had to go through just to sit and enjoy the Miami spice menu...otherwise, our server was nice and our food was amazing!
