TLDR: I liked the fish tacos, didn't try too much of the menu but I'd come back for those. La Esquina opened in Moynihan last year and I just never got around to it. The menu has got guac, tacos obviously, quesadillas and some other main dishes. Popped in for a random lunch and grabbed a fish taco and chilaquiles. The fish taco was mahi mahi, breaded nicely, good crunch and overall pretty flavorful. I'd come back to get this. The chilaquiles weren't bad but I like a bit more chew and crunch to the tortilla chips. Fried egg is nice but a bit too much bean for me. Tried it with the addition of the short rib, the beans/beef overpowered the salsa and chips for me. I'd be back to try some other things though. I'd imagine for guac, chips and a beer or margherita/paloma - it's not bad.

Great Mexican food my wife and I tried the soft tacos while waiting for our train in Moynihan station. It was happy hour and I recommend happy hour. My wife and I tried the margarita and the mondelo. Javier was friendly and professional . This place is small but cozy directly across from amtrak lounge.

These should not even be classified as shrimp tacos, they should be called bait tacos as these might be the smallest shrimp i have ever seen. I didn't even bother and threw it out

Stopped by this location for a quick lunch with colleagues. A bit on the pricey side but what do you expect when in Penn Station - ordered tinga quesadilla and one tinga taco and a mushroom taco - everything was so good. My colleague ordered a bowl that he said was okay but it seemed a bit small for $20. Food was up pretty quickly and it did not disappoint. So happy that tried it out.

This is inside Moynihan Food Hall next to Penn Station. I ordered one steak and one chicken taco. Both were delicious, but the steak was my favorite! If you're moderately hungry two tacos is fine, but if you're really hungry I recommend ordering more than two. They both had a lot of flavor. I'd go here again!

    Bar is nicely stocked.

Cold Jalepino Margaritas! Great vibe. Classy and intimate. Ambiance was romantic and elegant.

I had the pleasure of visiting La Esquina again, this time opting for takeout. I ordered two Brisket Tacos and Moros y Cristianos, and I couldn't have been more impressed. While waiting for my order, I enjoyed a refreshing Mexican Coke at the bar, all while soaking in the lively atmosphere and vibing to the upbeat tunes. This place has such an inviting and energetic ambiance - it's truly a gem in the neighborhood. The ordering process was seamless, and my food was ready in no time at all, which I really appreciated. As for the food itself, it was absolutely delicious - bursting with flavor and prepared with care. La Esquina has quickly become one of my favorite spots, and I'm thrilled to have it so close by. I'll definitely be returning as a frequent patron! If you haven't tried La Esquina yet, trust me, you're missing out. This is an absolute must-visit!

La Esquina is another spot I visited in Moynihan food hall, which was right across the street from my hotel. I got two tacos. The brisket taco was really good. Well seasoned, spicy and tender beef topped with a Mexican slaw and red onions. The flavors and textures were great. The other taco I got was a carnitas taco. I thought the pork was a little bland, but the cilantro and salsa bumped up the flavor profile a bit.

Bistec and mushroom taco had good flavor, but way good small for price. Horchata is home made and delicious! Atmosphere is beautiful! What needs help is the service. We asked for taco sauce on side, our dishes came with sauce on tacos. So they had to remake it. The waitress never checked on us, to see if we need anything else, refill our water pitcher. I asked for some green sauce on side, and it never came. Then another waiter came and I asked for more water and it never came.

This tiny bowl cost $18.00 plus I gave a tip. They are taking advantage of customers. I will go to Pollo Campero instead.

I know businesses have to make a living, but if Moynihan is way too expensive, don't rent there. It is apparent in the food prices and portions. I should've read the reviews first and definitely learned a big lesson . I literally paid 20 bucks for a small bowl. That was including a small dollar tip. The food was tasty but I don't see myself coming back here again.

Food was bland and grasy. Space was dark and uninviting. Servers obviously trained to upsell you on things you don't want. Not a good place.

They were so accommodating with our large group, and the service was incredible. I unfortunately cannot remember our server's name, but she was wonderful, and the working manager, Ibrahim, made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food, drinks, and service were just as exceptional as the entertainment. Our appetizers came out shortly after the group settled in, which was impressive given the size of our party. The elite ribs, tuna tacos, and wings were all delicious, and no one in our group had a single complaint about the food. I ordered the elevated birria empanada and had a passionfruit cocktail, and both were so good. The energy was amazing with sparklers, a DJ, and even a Carnaval-style dancer in a big feathered, sparkly costume performing around the restaurant. It was festive, memorable, and over-the-top in the best way. Easily above a 10/10 experience.

Our Server, Ramon, did an exceptional job. The staff did a great job at clearing finished items and everyone's timing was spot on. We started with the Tostones Rellenos con picadillo (Green plantains stuffed with ground beef). This was a great starter. Large enough to share and I enjoyed the drizzled sweet sauce and whole olives. Our entrees were: Palomilla Steak Platter (thin cut sirloin steak) and the Ropa Vieja (shredded flank steak). Both dishes were accompanied by white rice and we chose black beans and a side salad. This was the first time that I've seen Palomilla Steak presented totally cut into strips and it was a welcomed sight. The Ropa Vieja was perfectly seasoned and the amount of meat was thoroughly enjoyed. I capped off the meal with a Cortadito (A cortado is a Spanish coffee beverage consisting of equal parts espresso and warm, lightly steamed milk. The name comes from the Spanish verb cortar (to cut), meaning the milk "cuts" the acidity and intensity of the espresso. I appreciated the cookie on the side and each sip was amazing. Havana Central has various choices, to accommodate your time of day: lunch specials, a pre-theater menu, and a Happy Hour.

The seating was comfortable, making it an easy place to sit and enjoy the meal. I ordered the pernil, and the skin was, dare I say, perfect... crispy, flavorful, exactly what you want. Unfortunately, the meat itself was pretty lean and ended up a bit dry. The maduros were a bigger letdown; when I had them before, they were ripe and sweet, but this time they came out dry as hell. I sent them back, and to their credit, they took them off the bill without any issue. My friend enjoyed his Cuban panini, and while the pork chicharrón had a few off pieces, it was decent overall. So overall, I'd say this place can be really good, but there's definitely a consistency issue. When they get it right, it's excellent; it just doesn't seem to be that way every time.

Everyone agreed with my suggestion to eat Latin American food and we made a reservation at Buena Vista, not far away from our hotel and also not far from the theater. We came over a bit early, around 5:15 and were immediately seated. We were immediately impressed by the business model. It is a melange of Latin American and Iberian faire with exquisite curation. Their cocktails were absolutely delightful, I had a Pantalones en Fuego, others had an exquisite margarita with passion fruit flavor and a Daiquirí de Fresa, just amazing. Then we ordered interminable Hors d'oeuvres. Their ham croquetas and mushroom croquetas were the rage, as well as the tostoncillos ibéricos and ceviche limeño, The main courses followed, a paella valenciana for two, the magret de pato, a delicious duck dish, and a grilled Argentine parrilla. Not bad for four people. Dessert included churros and tres leches. And of course, a bottle of a great Verdejo. Service was just flawless. We had several staff members all contributing to making our Father's Day evening special.
