I have been to Daiquiri Xpress Mexican Taco bar at least five times. I first came across it when I…read morewas looking for a dinner spot in Pearland that was open late. I got on the trusty Yelp app and the rest is history. Located in a shopping center, next to a Mexican restaurant and an ice cream shop, parking won't be an issue. Service (3/5): Service isn't really a big part of the experience as you order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. They don't check up on you typically after that. I will say though that sometimes the people working the counter are a little unenthusiastic or clueless as to the promotions that are currently going on. So I have to take things down a notch or two because of that. Ambiance (4/5): This is one of the areas where Daiquiri Express shines. Bright murals cover the walls. Including Frida Kahlo. It's pretty awsome. This is a laid-back spot so don't expect elegance or sophistication. For what it is, they do a good job. Drinks (4.5/5): One of the things that first attracted me to this spot is that they are different than your typical daiquiri spot. Most daiquiri places have Cajun food or no food at all. Here, daiquiris are combined with Mexican toppings like tajin, candy, and more. They also have Mexican beers and margaritas. You have to order the largest size to get a take-home cup and all of the cool toppings but A+ for presentation. There's a good variety of options and they pack a punch. Food (3/5): Having gone here quite a few times, the food can be a hit or a miss. Sometimes it's flavorful and sometimes it's dry and overcooked. There's a lack of consistency. And I've tried a lot on the menu. Tacos, quesadillas, loaded fries, taquitos, etc. The taquitos are dusted with hot Cheetos which makes a fat kid at heart like me excited. Though it was a bit too spicy for my taste. The loaded fries are a generous portion and perhaps my favorite item on the menu I've tried. Another thing I like about Daiquiri Xpress is that they have a rewards program where you'll get things like free agua frescas, tacos, etc., they have a happy hour, and they have daily specials. I'm always a sucker for a deal and I like that they give you multiple opportunities to do so here. I just need a little more consistency in their food.

I wanted to like this place, but my experience here was incredibly disappointing. I know it's a daiquiri place, but it's also a Mexican restaurant. I really wanted a margarita but for some reason, they didn't have any. That basically left beer as the only other alcohol option (we are in Pearland after all). I tried to order a Dos Equis, but they were out of that too! It drives me crazy when you try to order multiple menu items only to be told that they are unavailable. The beer options were mediocre but I finally decided on an Indio. They dressed it with lime and salt and it was actually very good. The street tacos are $2 each on Tuesdays. If you order barbacoa, birria, or beef fajita, it's an extra $1.25. The beer was $2 and happy hour goes until 7 pm. I ordered three tacos; one carnitas and two chicken fajita. The carnitas was okay. The chicken fajita was extremely dry to the point that I didn't even eat the second one. I loved the cilantro and onions, but the toppings with the salsa could only do so much. My friend ate the other chicken fajita taco and he agreed that it was very dry. We sat at a high top table. The bar stools are small and extremely uncomfortable. I ended up standing for the majority of our visit. The restaurant is very colorful and has cool murals. Parking is plentiful. If you sign up for their rewards program, you can get a free dessert. The churros looked good, but I did not try any. The only reason why I'm rating this place 3 stars and not 2 is because everything was so cheap. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

The atmosphere was perfect! The music was great the staff was GREAT! Tayde waited on us and SHE WAS AMAZING! She knew what to recommend and made sure we had everything we needed. Before we left it got busy but still she made sure we were ok and we needed an order to go and they all were efficient in making our food, packing it perfectly and everyone in the restaurant cooks, waitresses and all seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. Makes a HUGE difference in how they serve us bc they are enjoying it. Today, we drove the 30 min again to come back. 10/20 because we had to bring our family to try what we had experienced. Again we were lucky to have Tayde serve us. All of us were debating between 2 plates and she gracefully and very expertly suggested the BEST plates. She was patient with our indecisiveness and always attentive. We couldn't be happier and I will ALWAYS drive the 30 min past gringos and all Tex-mex restaurants to come here. The food, the service, and the prices are superb! Come check them out, you won't regret it!

Their kids' menu is terrific, amazing prices and lots of options for littles under 12. Their chips and salsa (rojo and verde) are delicious and fresh. Littles (and adults by request) get free ice cream! I do love home town spots!

We stopped by at least once every few weeks for lunch, dinner & brunch…read more Service is exceptional. They are attentive even during brunch time on the weekends. If you would like to avoid the rush on Sundays, stop before 11 AM. We arrived at 11AM. They gave us a timer & we waited at the bar. 15 minute wait took only a few minutes. If you are unsure what to order, try out their brunch. My favorite is pozole Verde. It is chicken and it does give you a slight kick in taste. If you are searching for less spice try the carnitas (pork). Their eggs are also relatively calm and easy to handle. I really also enjoy their coffee, café de olla. It is served with an authentic pottery mug. Their soup bowls are also in this same style. Arroz con leche ( creamy rice pudding with cinnamon) is very good. I also love their cute small pasty that looks like a funnel and taste like bunuelos (sweet crunchy rice cake with cinnamon). Great ambience and it feels like you are in a festive place.

The hunger pangs hit and I just happened to be near this place. I've only seen it in passing but haven't really seen much chatter on the local foodie pages on social media or on here. I arrived around the end of breakfast and there wasn't much of a crowd inside. Parking was easy right out front. I was a little confused at the ordering process. Was it counter service or table service? No one really pointed me in the right direction until my waitress Claudia told me to have a seat and she would be helping me. She did an amazing job from start to finish. I was expecting just a taco joint, but they have lots more to offer on their menu. They have gorditas, tostadas, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, burgers, breakfast items, soup and entrees. They also have your usual drinks options along with agua frescas, shakes, juices, margartitas and beers. I was torn between breakfast and lunch so I decided to try both. I went with the dish that has the same name as the restaurant. Tacos Toreados came with 3 tacos with a protein of your choice on a flour tortillas and what makes these different was that they came with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. I also went with a bacon and egg taco just so I can really judge the place. What I didn't expect was how massive the tacos were going to be. I got mine with pastor and fajitas. It looked more like a tostada with the toppings covering the whole surface of the tortilla. The fajita and pastor was seasoned beautifully and was very tasty. The onions were sauteed just right but I do like raw onions and cilantro on my tacos a little better. The cheese was a nice addition as well. I barely got through two and on the third I just ate the meat. I saved just enough room to try the breakfast taco which was very good. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. This place is very close to my house and I will most definitely be back to make my way through their menu.

Tacos toreados are what happen when someone confuses burnt with bold. They're basically tortillas…read morethat got mugged in a vat of oil, slapped with meat that's been fried until all personality died, and then bullied by salsa so aggressive it's clearly compensating for how dry everything else is. The tortillas? Greasy enough to leave fingerprints on your soul. Crispy on the outside, sure--but in that "I've been sitting under a heat lamp questioning my life choices" way. One bite and oil drips like it's trying to escape the crime scene. The meat is usually overcooked to the point where chewing feels like a personal challenge. Any natural flavor is gone, replaced with "salt + fry + regret." And don't get me started on the salsa: nuclear-level spicy, not because it's nuanced, but because pain is the only thing left to feel. Tacos toreados aren't about balance, craft, or love. They're about chaos. They're the taco equivalent of yelling "¡ÁMONOS!" and making bad decisions at 2 a.m. Delicious? Sometimes. Refined? Never. They exist purely to punish sobriety and reward drunk confidence. Still gonna eat them? Yeah. Proud of it? Absolutely not.
