    1/4 sheet guava cake

The guava cake was amazing. It was the best cake I have ever tasted! I am not exaggerating. I ordered a 1/4 sheet guava cake for a friend's birthday that same day (Wednesday). It was available, and they added a nice birthday message upon purchase. It was such a smooth, fast transaction. The cake was incredibly delicious. It was not too sweet - just right. The fruit decorations were beautiful, and the color and texture of the mousse were amazing. The mousse had a creamy, smooth texture. I wanted to get another slice of cake, but I withheld the urge Everyone loved it and asked where it came from. I'm actually going to start requesting this as my birthday cake every year from this bakery! Such a delight! I cannot find enough words to adequately describe my delectable experience. I'm still reeling!

    Rainbow Swiss rolls- yummy
    Jaane F.

I bought their rainbow swiss roll cakes, which come in different flavors. I never saw any shop doing this. You get to try a different taste. I like their swiss roll, if you are not sweet. This is a must-try cake to get. The cake is soft and spongy. Also, I had their frozen food, like shrimp wontons and beef dumplings. Both are also good, and the price is very reasonable for the packaging. I will come back here more often to try out others.

    fluffy Japanese cheesecake ($15)
    Hesper W.

Came here for the individual mousse cake and was pretty disappointed when they didn't have any. There was a box of sliced fluffy Japanese cheesecakes that I opted getting, but soon regretted it because of how expensive it was for 4 small slices ($15). Each slice was a different flavor: matcha, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. They were light and fluffy, and filled with whipped cream which was surprising since Japanese cheesecake doesn't have cream in it. Each flavor was distinctive and delicious, but it seriously wasn't worth the price.

Review for baked goods only! Stopped by here after visiting the Lion Market as a newbie to Fremont. The store looked tiny but they do sell frozen dumplings, drinks and cakes along with baked bread. Their assortment of bread included pineapple bun (which I got), hot dog bun, taro bun, cream bun, toast... etc. I quite enjoyed the ones I got. Didn't get a chance to try anything else but definitely in my plans to visit here again.

GREAT FROZEN CHINESE DUMPLINGS HERE. If you have frozen dumplings on your grocery list don't get them from the grocery store, get them from here. Review is only for the frozen dumplings and not their baked goods. They taste fresher, the skins are thin, and it's bursting with fillings. They are located in the freezer on the right side when you walk in, they will be in black takeout containers with clear lids or in bags. They were almost sold out around 2:30 pm which means tons of people are buying them. Some pricing for the ones we bought: -Pork wonton = $6.99 -Shrimp, Pork, Chive Wonton = $7.99 -Shrimp, Pork, Chive dumpling = $x.xx (forgot pricing) The dumpling we pan-cooked gyoza style with oil and did the other half boiled. Both were really good and tasted home-made and fresh, like something an older relative would make. Wontons same high quality, very good in leftover chicken soup on a cold day. If you've never been here it's inside the Lion Market, just look for Lion in the plaza and walk in, it'll be down the entrance walkway on the left.

Ordered two cakes for my bf's birthday: durian and peach/mango cake. They were able to accommodate making two smaller cakes which was nice, a few places I called couldn't do it. When I got there, the place was really hot and there were barely any bakery items on the shelves. I was a little nervous for how the cake was going to turn out. The cake wasn't ready as promised but it was delicious! My bf enjoyed the durian cake but not so the peach/mango cake. I didn't even try the durian cake (yuck!) but the peach/mango cake was delicious! Both cakes weren't too sweet. I'd definitely come back and order more cakes from here.

Unique flavors for fruit cake! My sister really wanted guava or passionfruit cake. Both fruit cakes were hard to find in SF due to not being in season, places not open because of the lockdown, and/or requires a special three day order in advance. Surprisingly, La Faralla had both of these fruity flavors ready in the back kitchen! Not only that, but they even had lychee mousse cake. I ended up ordering the guava and lychee mousses for my sister's birthday and brother's graduation, which were good; semi-sweet and moist. Perfect for Asian taste buds! 8" cost $32 10" cost $45 Located inside the plaza with lots of parking but service was just a bit slow esp after the server made a few errors when charging me.

My friend picked up some goodies from this location and I am obsessed! Their pork buns are so juicy, plenty of meat, and the bun is so soft, melt in your mouth! Their white toast bread was also so fluffy and fresh, and I ate about 4 slices in one sitting! Tasty by itself or with butter! Prices also seem very reasonable and will be a frequent spot for me!

We ordered cakes from La Farfalla twice in October 2021 - Black Forest Cake and Strawberry Shortcake. They were both very good - light, not overly sweet. The black forest cake used maraschino cherries rather than fresh (which may be due to seasonality). The ordering process was easy - we placed the orders over the phone a day or two before we needed them. They wrote what we wanted on the cakes and had them ready for pick up on time. One thing we absolutely loved and appreciated was the box the cake came in -- it was beautiful and very functional with handles built in. Made quite the impression and was very useful!

    Food Poison Cake!!

Beware of this La Farfalla Bakery chain store!! my husband ordered a cake here and we all got food poisoning with diarrhea!! we thought the cake was so dry and completely flavorless, on top of it, it was a simple vanilla cake with nothing in it! and was charged the crepe cake price... worst yet! the food poisoning!! We complained and they were so extremely Rude!! Should have read the 1 star reviews before ordering cake from here! all very true!! Can't get worst than this bakery!! go elsewhere!!

Fresh bread doesn't come out till around 11am. Their steamed bun is good. Nice and soft. Their bread prices are pretty cheap compared to other Asian bakeries. I also really like their cakes. I am not a fan of cream so I really enjoy their cakes. Bottom layer is cake and the top is a moose flavor of your choice. I have tried the green tea, mango, strawberry, and lychee moose cakes and all have been very tasty.

11 items for 13.90! Their buy 2 get 1 free is so great.

Now for the options, they all sounded good and were hard to choose from! I like that they have specials of the month, seasonal, and mainstays. I choose one of monthly specials coconut pudding, and mainstay french silk. I also ordered the cheese burger hand pie for my husband, which he loved! The coconut pudding pie was sooo good, loved the texture and flavor, they had toasted coconut on the side to add on top. The fresh silk pie was my favorite! It was not overly chocolatey and had a nice mousse texture, there was an under layer of crisp ganache that made all the flavors and textures pop! The crust is nice and buttery and flakey. These were not heavy pies, just creamy light melt in your mouth. They also have frozen pies so you can take and bake yourself. This definitely satisfied my sweet tooth, and will be back this time to order a whole pie!

Some of my favorites over time have been the chocolate chess, cheeseburger, and berry custard pies. All very different, but all really good in their own way. Would recommend this spot to anyone looking for pie!! There are honestly not a lot of places around that you can get crafted pies from, so I think they fill a niche market here - a market that I am certainly a part of.

The cake itself is delicious, but what makes it interesting is the type of fruit they use -- not Medjool or the usual Middle Eastern dates, but jujube (often called Chinese dates). That choice gives the cake a gentle sweetness with a subtle smoky note that sets it apart. Feb 21: For our first visit, we ordered quite a spread: the chocolate mochi bun, honey osmanthus cake, jujube cake, a loaf of chocolate bread (because there's no such thing as too much chocolate), and the pork floss with salted egg bread. The concept behind the pastries was appealing, which explains why we bought so much on our first trip. That said, the execution felt a little uneven. The osmanthus notes in the honey osmanthus cake didn't quite come through, the chocolate bun lacked depth of flavor, and the pork floss with salted egg bread turned slightly burnt even though we followed the heating instructions. Still, we were glad to have discovered the bakery. It's definitely worth a try.

It was like many other red bean loaf. The taro cheesecake were bite size. It wasnt sweet or dull. The taro seemed like real taro. It was more of a sandwich than a traditional cheesecake slice. There's no seating area inside the bakery, but there are some tables outside next to a water fountain. Of the times that I've been there, it's mostly empty and clean, and the trash bins are not overflowing. The donuts are absolutely delicious. The brioche donut is soft but holds the fillings in well. There's also a bit of crunch from the sugar on the outside of the donut. There's an ample amount of filling, so you get to taste the flavors. So far, my favorites are Irish cream, lemon blueberry, and banana cream. It is a bit messy to eat, so have napkins and a small plate to catch any sugar or filling that may fall out when you bite into it. We had their chocolate chip cookie. It looked like a big mound of baked dough. Overall, it was okay. I would easily skip this for the donuts instead. I haven't tried their coffees, but my daughter loves the hot chocolate, and I have been enjoying their calamansi juice. It's nice and tart, not too sweet. I have seen some savory options but have not tried them. I will be back to explore the menu.

Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

This spot is takeout-only, so don't plan on stopping by for long. Finding parking isn't difficult…read morebut might take a minute on busy days, as it shares a parking lot with the rest of a popular plaza. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.

It's my fav item that I always pick up. I also like the green onion ham bun. Throw it in an air fryer for a minute or two and it's a great snack even the next day. Service was attentive whenever I went during lunchtime and seemed tidy. Also heads up there's a $8 credit card minimum, but you might as well pick up a handful of things while you're here. Prices are fair.

I stopped by on a whim right after dinner and ended up being really glad I did. As soon as I walked…read morein, the place had that classic mom and pop bakery feel with warm, homey Asian vibes. Two very kind ladies noticed us looking at the ice cream cakes and took the time to offer a few recommendations. We decided on the Oreo vanilla ice cream cake, and it completely exceeded expectations. Super creamy, rich without being too sweet, and packed with Oreo flavor in every bite. I've had plenty of ice cream cakes before, and this one was easily better than anything I've had at Baskin-Robbins. The texture was smoother, the flavors tasted fresher, and there was none of that overly processed dry cake texture. Perfect for celebrations or just as a treat. I'll definitely be coming back for another one; probably gonna try the mango fresh cake next.
