    Sweet potato pie
    DrDuru A.

Fantastic and friendly. Just what you want in a local bakery. Everyone where cares about their customers and the community. Everything I buy I worth every penny. I am a big fan of the chocolate croissants. That's my go-to. Generously sized, ample chocolate, buttery and flaky. Perfection. For lunch, I grab a savory chicken empanada. For snacking, and when available, I love the sweet potato pie. The right balance of sweet and creamy rich. Usually there are multiple sizes to choose from. My other favorite pies are apple, cherry, and peach oh my! Finally, when I am being very indigent, nothing quite like the chocolate pie. Oh yes! Finally, Niles Pie is very festive and provides seasonal treats. Make sure to order those holiday pies in advance! There is probably something here for every bakery lover. Enjoy!

We grabbed the blueberry crumble to share with friends and it was a hit- not a slice left. The filling was bright, not too sweet, and the crumble topping had great texture. Held up well on the drive over too. Next time we're trying the hand pies. Solid neighborhood pie shop worth the stop.

    Mushroom pot pie

We love Niles Pie Company! This place is so awesome and literally everything they have is delicious. Our favorite, and one of the main reasons why we come back time and time again (other than the awesome service from Trish) are the frozen take and bake mushroom pot pies. These pies are SO DELICIOUS, and if you love mushrooms.. it's a must have. Loaded with a medley of mushrooms in a cheesy, rich mushroom gravy.. these pies never disappoint. They come in 3 sizes, a large 9 inch, a 6 inch personal and 3 inch mini size. The 6 inchers are what we usually go for because the mushroom filling to delicious pie crust ratio is just perfect. Their sweet pies are just as amazing as their savory pies, we had just picked up a couple of their special holiday pies.. a Mexican Hot Chocolate with homemade marshmallows on top and a Chocolate Pumpkin Pie, both out of this world. Their chocolate chess is amazing, apple pie & berry pies are amazing as well. They also have an array of freshly baked pastries like homemade pop tarts, breakfast buns, cinnamon rolls, croissants and more. Everything at this quaint little pie shop is worth every penny spent. Trish, who is one of the owners and does the counter service, is a delight & takes pride in everything they have to offer. Definitely take the time to check out this hidden gem and enjoy all they have to offer!

I stumbled across Niles Pie Company while I was in a rush/need for a very last minute apple or cherry pie. Niles Pie Company offers both sweet and savory options for any occasion you need. The shop prides itself on using local and fresh ingredient. But!! Be advised that items sell out- snooze and you will absolutely lose. I know I did. [[insert crying emoji]] Products range from: homemade pop tarts, empanadas, fruit pies, savory pies, and danishes. 4 stars. The vibe here is everything!! I may have not been lucky enough to actually try any of the baked goods due to NPC being completely sold out but I thank the staff for being so kind and courteous. Hopefully I'll be able to give their products a try sooner than later.

My first Banana Cream Pie from Niles

This i probably my third time coming to Niles and never had a negative experience. But I'm wondering, is a Banana Cream Pie from Niles supposed to be frozen or served with a spoon? I bought my first one from Niles and stuck it in the fridge before our dinner. When we cut it, plop! Like pudding. I've had never had a pie like this. Something was missing. Sorry Niles, not gonna plunk $45 again.

Frozen Classic Apple Pie - based on my oven, it ended up taking about 15 mins longer.

When my dad said he wanted apple pie for his birthday this year, I knew I had to check out Niles Pie Company. I had already been introduced to their blueberry crumble at my friend's house so I knew I would be in for a treat. When I got there on Saturday morning, the only "apple" pie that they had was a 6 inch caramel apple. Since it was a little over a week post Thanksgiving, they were still ramping up their pie production. They did however have a frozen classic apple pie that I could bake at home. In the end, I decided on three 6-inch pies: caramel apple, classic apple, and the blueberry crumble. All three were outstanding...my brother in law who typically does not eat sweets really enjoyed the blueberry crumble. He found it not overly sweet which we all agreed. My dad enjoyed both the caramel and the classic apple but surprisingly the classic was probably mine and my husband's favorite. I wasn't sure how the frozen pie was going to bake off in my humble home oven but it worked out fine. My oven though must run a little low because it did take longer than the instructions. Since it was my first visit, I also got a free cookie. If you are in the area, this is worth the visit. They have other bakery items and empanadas if you are not in the mood for pie. I had the ham and swiss empanada for breakfast and it was delicious. The Niles Pie Company operates under a co-op model. It is clear they take great care and pride in their work and it shows in their baked goods.

    Ham,cheese & onion quiche

The first thing I noticed is the butter scent when I stepped into this little gem. Just tried their chicken empanada & son had their beef empanada, they didn't disappoint. I got the ham, cheese & onion quiche & having them for breakfast. Im simply in love with the yumminess. It's a nostalgic experience with the taste ! You can tell every piece of pastry are baked with love and attention. Worth every penny.

    Beef and chicken empanadas
    Amanda D.

Great service Great tasting pies Ordered chicken and beef empanadas I liked them! Caramel apple pie was too sweet for me but I loved the sweet potato pie, received a gift of a chocolate chunk cookie, also too rich for me, it's like a whole chocolate bar inside of a chocolate chip cookie. American level sweetness. Would love to try their savory pies on my next visit or see if they have any no sugar added options. Will definitely be back regardless. Thank you for the lovely experience!

Nile's Pie Company has the cutest little dessert pies that are perfect for any dinner party. The mini sizes lets you bring a variety of flavors plus they're adorable and add a fun, personalized touch. From the mini apple to tiny pecan pie, they all tasted amazing and satisfied our sweet tooth.

Eat pie for breakfast. Niles pie makes a good breakfast pie- cherry filling is lightly sweet, slightly tart, whole fruit, minimal glop; dutch apple is surprisingly not sweet- not even the crumb topping, apples are soft and keep their shape, but it could use more apples. Flavors for both pies are subtle. Crust is more on the dense side which makes some of the layers appear under cooked. But thats how they keep the lattice pie beautiful. Small pies will serve 2- 3. Beef and potato pastie is a tasty bite, first bite had thanksgiving stuffing flavors-yum.Chicken pepper empanada is red bell pepper- no heat, but still tasty and loaded with shredded chicken. These are best eaten warm. And just because, you should get a sweetie pie. They are fun and sweet and gloppy. Too sweet for breakfast, so stick with the pie.

The location of this bakery and pie shop is somewhat isolated and unexpected, in a business park with nothing much else around. But parking was easy on a Tuesday evening, staff provided quick and friendly service, and there was still a good variety of sweet and savory pies and pastries available in the display case less than 20 minutes before closing time, including chocolate chess pies, coconut cream pies, and vanilla buttermilk custard, as well as different flavors of quiche and empanadas. I ended up getting the beef & potato empanada, and chicken & red pepper empanada. These baked treats are best eaten hot, and they were really good even after being reheated at home. Hearty empanadas filled with delicious ingredients (ground beef and sweet potato/juicy chunks of chicken and bell pepper) marinated in a savory blend of spices, and wrapped in a tender and flaky pastry shell. They were also large in size, about 3x5 inches each and super fat (just like me after eating them). Yum yum yum... this is why I run :D

Mushroom Swiss savory pie. Just wow
    Rob H.

This place.... The homemade, from scratch dessert and savory pies from here are the closest thing I've been able to find that taste as good as British/Scottish pies. This one is a local must have. Hard not to buy everything on the menu, I ordered some frozens and a fresh dessert pie for an event a few months ago and everyone left with nothing but compliments about the food. The only one I could capture during the feeding frenzy (also my personal favorite) was a mushroom swiss savory mini pie. I couldn't believe how good this one was. Also ordered a chorizo pie and a Raspberry Rhubarb dessert one (2nd favorite!). All came out amazing. They give easy to follow instructions for baking, the service was just obviously run by bakers who know exactly what they're doing but not in a snobby way at all. Had a very comfortable family vibe amidst a more business/industrial area. It is very difficult to visit this place and not spend all your money there lol. Will easily be back for a real treat for get togethers, and a steal of mushroom pie for myself in addition. Please support this fantastic local place.

Ask the Community - Niles Pie Company

Do you make a traditional cherry pie? My husband doesn't care for lattice crusts. Are you able to make a regular double crust pie?

We do make a great traditional cherry pie with a lattice crust, however, it is not currently on the menu. It will return to the menu in January after the holiday season!

Do you have gluten free pies?

We do not, unfortunately. The only gluten free options we have are meringues, and some house-made soups.

    Are there dairy free options?

Not really, there is butter in all the types of crusts (cookie, pot pie, sweet pie, quiche, empanada, croissant, galette). Meringues are.

Are the pie crusts butter, shortening, or lard ? Essentially are they vegetarian friendly?

Pie crust is only made out of butter, the fantastic taste comes from that!

    What are the vegan options?

Yes. Such as quich, berry pies, chocolate croissants..

When doing online ordering if you want to pick it up at the shop in union city do you pick up at niles pie (which is what I assume) but for $15 there's a option for union city? Which is where the shops located at?

Delivery within Union City is $15, but there's of course no charge for picking up at the shop! We're a retail shop, so you can just come in to pick up pies. For Thanksgiving it's a good idea to order ahead, as we tend to sell out.…

I'd love to keep Pie Dreams my little secret, but out of respect for the proprietor's mad baking skills, it's behind Dino's. The owner is passionate about his pies and shared his philosophy about how pie can make us all nicer, gentler people. I mean, that's not exactly verbatim, but the pie case made it hard to pay attention. On my visit, there were two savory pies (hand pies) and a selection of sweet pies (hand pies and slices). Being a big supporter of small businesses, I ordered 4. All I can say is I'm super happy I don't live closer. The chicken bacon hand pie was delicious. Big pieces of chicken in a flavorful creamy sauce. There may have been some vegetables in it but I was driving and it was unsafe to inspect my pie closely. The caramel apple hand pie was good. Because I'm not an apple pie fan I appreciated that the apples were sliced thinly, not chunky, and I loved the addition of the sanding sugar on top. I ordered the apricot frangipane (AF) for two reasons: it was double-crusted and it didn't have whipped cream on top. I wasn't totally on board with frangipane since my experience with it in boxed chocolates was "meh." Plus they seem to love it on the Great British Bake-Off and it always looks so unappealing. But paired with the tartness of the apricots and a crust that reminded me of shortbread, I think the AF was my favorite, though I haven't tried the blueberry lemon yet. If you love pie, go to Pie Dreams and have a slice or three (no judgment here). If you're not sure or don't think you like pie, go to Pie Dreams. You may surprise yourself.
