I had a good ham and Swiss sandwich here from a catered box lunch provided to me and other colleagues after a professional event. The sauce provided took an ordinary sandwich to a new level!!! The box included the sandwich on sliced sourdough bread; a special sauce; a small bag of kettle chips; and a large, delicious chocolate chip cookie (I didn't need the chips or the cookie but I definitely enjoyed it LOL). The cookie alone deserves 4 stars. It was my favorite item in the entire box (hangs head in shame). I've never gone into the cafe or been served directly by the staff, but the catered lunches arrived on time and everyone seemed satisfied. read more

It wasn't horrible but also wouldn't come back for the food The good: no wait, food came out very quickly, easy parking, convenient location, plenty of seating, and fair prices. I have a weakness for a really good turkey sandwich. I can go to the swankiest place and if it doesn't have a club than I am not as impressed. I don't understand how Carolinians put ham on a club and not bacon...but the Carolina bakery gets it. This is very nice roasted turkey on a great bun with bacon and what they call Caroluna sauce but I thinks its roasted tomato in mayo....or pepper...its really good. Their Caesar salad is ok..nothing to write home about. The grilled cheese is super dangerously good. Now lets talk about the baked goods. This is NOT a place to come if you are on a diet. Just want to give a shout out to Cafe Carolina and their new space! My husband and I have been coming here for years and prior to that he and his family had been coming here even longer. The service is always top notch, the food is consistently delicious and fresh and we absolutely love their new space, which is just behind the original in the Villave District. Parking is sooo much easier here. There's a parking garage directly underneath with an elevator that lets you off directly inside of Cafe Carolina. We never have trouble finding a space unlike their old building where the Village District parking lot was literally never not crowded. The owner puts in so much work and always ensures that the customer service is great and that his clients are getting everything they need. Highly recommend their bakery items, their flatbreads, and the half salad/soup/sandwich combo! Their new location has everything from low top tables, high top tables with booths, regular booths and outdoor seating in a clean and inviting atmosphere! Although they were doing a brisk business, there were several available tables. The cafe is conveniently located in Cameron Village shopping center so you can enjoy shopping and dining without moving your car.
