Le Marais is as good a neighborhood for the classic Parisian sidewalk cafe experience of people watching, coffee sipping, and dessert indulging. Jamie W and I had already grabbed a casual Mediterranean bite at Miznon (review: https://yelp.to/L8VsK8ilqe) and licked a pina colada popsicle at La Paleteria (review: https://yelp.to/wsmw74n7t6). Ah, but this was Paris, and the evening still felt young. We were lured by the pretty-in-pink decor of this spot because alas, this was Paris. We warmed ourselves over a couple of extremely foamy €7,50 Coffee Lattes (Photo 9) and shared a €4 scoop of Dark Chocolate Glacé with a wedge of sesame honey caramel (Photo 8). The people watching wasn't disappointing either as a Selena Gomez 2.0 lookalike model was decimating her smitten companion. Ironically this was my least favorite cafe during our week long visit to Paris. It's adorable and a great photo op but the service, menu, and food leave a lot to be desired. We were initially going to have a meal but the server seemed disinterested in answering any questions and one of our party has food allergies so we stuck with drinks and a dessert. Both were pretty bad. My espresso martini was foamy and "broken" it didn't look appetizing and it didn't taste great either. The creme brûlée was split between 3 of us and 90% of it was left in the dish, so take from that what you will. read more

Love the pink flowers and the ambiance. This is what I imagine a French cafe experience is like for Americans. Waiters rolled their eyes at us when we walked in and we were seated next to a French couple who we knew were talking about us. Things like that roll off our backs but I wanted to get at least one place that still does it. Here for a week and we really tried to use our broken French. This place wouldn't even try. The aperol spritz tasted awful and not sure there was any alcohol in it. Really think they put seltzer water instead of Prosecco over ice and provided a little bottle of aperol to add to our liking. The Benedict burger is really eggs Benedict surrounded on a burger bun. Too much bread for my liking. By the time you get to the egg, the Hollandaise sauce was consumed with the bun. read more

Cute spot but definitely a tourist trap. We paid 50 euros for a burger, fries and 2 drinks. Most people just took a photo outside with the flowers. it was the worst heat wave in Paris since shortly before the Earth's crust cooled. I sweat flopped into a seat outside and was beguiled and bewitched by an impossibly beautiful waitress who sophisticatedly opened bottles by popping off bottle-caps by first resting the bottle on her bare shoulder then Ffffffffsssst pop off. Glug glug glug poured the life saving Evian into the glass then into me then into my parisian memory. Oh to be that July sweaty bottle resting just seconds on her ivory skin. This review is just for drinks here. We only came here because Mink found them on social media and wanted to take photos with their pink background. They are extremely easy to find once you get out of the Metro. Just look and you'll see a lot of pink flowers. When we first got there, we were told we couldn't sit in the front 3 tables because they seat people in sets and that set is for 6 people. It is probably the best seats for photos of the place if you wanted to have the pink flowers in the background. We thought that was odd because it was super slow and early morning. No one was really there. We told them we were going to just grab drinks and were also there for photos. Finally they let us sit there and we ordered Mink a Cappuccino and I got a glass of Champagne. After we got some photos, we sat there to enjoy the start to the day. Customer service did improve the longer we stayed but our initial impression of the place wasn't great due to how we were treated. Overall, still great spot for a social media post. read more

No, I refuse to believe people have less than a five star experience dining and/or drinking La Favorite. La Favorite was literally just that, our favorite. We came here three nights in a row during our stay in Paris. Our hotel was across the street, but even if it was a ways away, we would have made the trip. The first night we stopped in because we were starving after a long day of travel and the (very instagrammable) decor caught our eye. The second night we went back because we wanted to grab a drink before heading back to the hotel and we really enjoyed their drinks the previous night. Then we went back a third time...we were basically regulars by that point. I know, Paris has so many great places, why go to the same place multiple times? I guess this shows you how much we enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drinks. The waitstaff were also super nice and surprised our friend with a special drink sparkler on his birthday. For food, I really liked their Niçoise salad and charcuterie plate. During our visits, we tried a bunch (my liver says, "too many") of their cocktails, which were all amazing. I had a few favorites, but all the spritzes were delightful and my friends loved their mojitos. read more

Walking back to our hotel, my wife and I spotted what looked like a cool cafe for a drink. I approached an outside table and attempted to move a chair with back support from one side of the table to the other and was yelled at by a waiter inside. This place deserves more than 3 stars. Do not let the rating fool you. I visited this place three times for brunch while in Paris. I enjoyed the crispy bacon croissant. I stopped at La Favorite for breakfast on my birthday entirely because the restaurant was so cute. With pink flowers cascading everywhere and multicolored chairs, I needed to be a part. I ordered an orange juice (fresh squeezed and divine), truffle eggs, and coffee with cream. The eggs were good - sort of scrambled with truffle shavings. The coffee was great. I saw a mother and daughter order the avocado toast among other things, and I was a bit jealous. It was much larger than I what I ordered, and it came with a salad. If there's a next time, I'm ordering that! I'm giving this place four stars out of five because it was good if a little expensive, and it seemed they had only one server on staff for all of breakfast, making service a little slow. I try to avoid ratings that are based mainly on service, but this is service and price. We popped in here and got an outside table around 5 pm looking to have a drink and just sit for a bit. we ordered spritzes, a beer and a coffee, after waiting a while. At least 30 min passed with our drinks not arriving. Tables around us came later and got food and drinks. Wait staff avoid eye contact. Finally our waiter walked by and apologized saying the drinks were on the way, still 5 min passed before they came and they got one of the orders wrong. This place is super-cute, which is pretty good, considering the interior is made basically with white bathroom tiling! At least, that's what I thought when I saw it. There's something about the decor that gives it a nice feel, and when I was there, it seemed like mostly locals, or at least, European/French tourists. Can't judge the food as I only stopped by for bread and hot chocolate. That said, the bread is very good and the hot chocolate is the dark, rich, thick kind of hot chocolate, not the watery, sugary type that some places serve. Super popular neighborhood brunch spot. We stopped around 2pm on a Sunday and found the place packed, mostly with locals enjoying mimosas. My friend opted for a pizza, which is really more of a long flatbread - she really enjoyed it and it was quite a large serving. I opted for soft boiled eggs which arrived with toast sticks - perfect for dipping in the delicious runny yolks. Service is friendly, but harried. Prices are perhaps a bit higher than they should be, but it's the Marais. We walked by many, many times on our trip and it was always busy so that tells you something. read more

Great location, right on the Rue Rivoli, and perfect for people-watching. You can sit outside and watch the people go by, or you can go into the restaurant which is decorated very cute, French diner-y, if you can kind of picture that. My friend ordered some kind of a French breakfast, which looked like the most unreal, glorious spread I've ever seen; but since I'm vegan, I ate the bread that came with it, with marmalade, coffee, and fresh orange juice. There wasn't much bread; I would ask for more next time. A decent breakfast in my opinion, and of course the bread and marmalade were EXCELLENT. My friend and I had a great breakfast here Monday morning around eight o'clock. The place was rather empty except for a few Australian tourists and two or three locals having coffee at the bar. The lady who waited on us was very friendly and efficient. We both ordered the Breakfast Anglais for around 12E which was a pretty good deal. The three egg omelet was very good, the orange juice was fresh, the toast was decent and the cafe creme was exquisite. The food arrived very quickly and she brought us and settled our check very quickly when we asked for it. One thing to remember when you are ordering breakfast here or at any cafe is that it is a much better deal to order un menu instead of a la carte. I did order an extra cafe creme (since it was so wonderful) and it was 5E (not exactly a deal compared to a whole breakfast with a cafe creme for 12E). I have no experience with the wifi here. I didn't try it. I got an international data plan for my Iphone for this trip. So I can't speak about the wifi. I would recommend breakfast here. We both enjoyed it very much and it seemed that our new Australian friends did too. read more

Very basic and overly priced menu. We had brunch here and most things we ordered were ok at best. The worst of all was the avocado with dressing we had, it was a dry stringy avocado cut in half on a plate with some balsamic on the side... Oh it was 10€!!! When we said the avocado wasn't good, they didn't really care and charged us anyways for something inedible and exaggeratedly overpriced. A bit confused, some of these reviews seem to be for "Dome cafe" and some for "La Favorite". My review is for La Favorite... A bit pricey as others say (it's Paris afterall) but the burger here was fantastic. Cooked how they should be cooked, and the only way the French know how to do it, the beef is super pink on the inside and the burger is a juicy mess by the time you're done with it. It's definitely a burger done write, so roll up your sleeves, grab a ton of napkins, and chow down! read more
