I visited last month because a former coworker is now working there. Jonathan Orlando is a nice guy who seems to truly want to help people get healthy. He's very enthusiastic. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the others I interacted with. With my membership, I was supposed to receive a free training session. I called to reschedule. I was told the trainer would call to confirm he never did. He returned my call after leaving a message, but he didn't leave a voicemail. Actually, I can only assume it was him calling. I was in a meeting so I didn't pickup and realized later I missed a call from LA Fitness. The only reason I joined was because I thought I'd be able to take HIIT classes around Esporta. Upon further investigation I found the only location offering HIIY is in Chandler. I live in Mesa. So, to sum it up, they ask for a lot down and the monthly fee is double what other local gyms with the same amenities and more hours offer. I canceled my membership before the end of one month because I saw no reason to pay a higher amount when I get the same or better elsewhere for less. read more

The shower heads have needed replacement fir some time. Many have complained. Management has given no consideration to the matter. it's a small thing, but really the small things matter. The aqua fit classes rock! read more

The only reason for opting for a 2 star as opposed to one is for the simple fact that this gym provides a good alternative to the typical crowded gyms throughout the area. I think the common saying of "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink" applies here pretty well. "You can give people a job, but you can't make them work." I can't tell you how many times I've walked in and out of this gym while the person at the front desk refuses to a knowledge the existence of anyone other than people that work there. For example, I walked up to the front desk to get some help on getting a new sign in barcode and the person behind the desk takes about 30 seconds to finish up a text which I would have to assume is not work related, then turns her head up just to respond with a very rude "what?" As if I'm doing her some sort of inconvenience of coming into "her" gym. Same applies to the "sales reps" walking around. How many times do you need to walk past weights thrown across the ground or dirty towels lying around before you decide to bend over and do your job. Further proof of this.....look at the sauna. It's had the same pieces of trash and "juice" on the walls for months. Not only is it dirty, but there is a missing piece of framing which now has exposed staples sticking out that cut the back of my leg. Pictures attached. These "trainers" will was right past all the trash and dirty towels like they're too good to pick anything up. I understand that their is someone who's job it is to clean up around the gym, but clearly this person is working part time as nothing gets cleaned. Y'all work at a gym. It's customer service industry. I'm confused as to why some of these people walk around like they're gods gift. Just do your job. read more

I've been a member for well over a decade. First joined as a La Fitness member and then Esporta acquired them soon after. A few months ago The Esporta location on Power and Rittenhouse closed down. This forced member to seek other gyms. Because I was loyal and didn't want to go through the headache of researching and finding another gym i decide to stay with LA Fitness. Well.... that ended today. I went work out and brought my wife with me because I have had a guess pass for years. I was informed today that the guess pass was no longer valid. This was told to me Ally "The New Manager". Only reason why I know is she mentioned it multiple times. She was so proud and arrogant. She informed me that she spoke with Ashley the manager that used to run Esporta that she will not honor my guess pass anymore. Funny I never received a call or an email informing me. I then started to let her know I might consider going to EOS.... OH boy she couldn't get to her computer fast enough and get the words out fast enough... "You can cancel now if you want" Wow! what customer service... nice job trying to retain a customer that has been loyal for over 10 years. Your way or the highway huhh Ally? You see people Ally would rather win an argument than win business. Ally would rather be right (in her mind) than do her job. Ally!!! You are a RUDE, Self -righteous, entitled and most of all completely disconnected from customer service. Ohhhh don't worry Ally will spin her web of lies saying to her Boss or whoever will listen to her that I was the rude one, I talked to her poorly to her and that she had to kick me out. Ally, you have no business being the manager of anything let alone LA Fitness. It was because of Ally I canceled my membership not the guess pass debacle . Because the manager April is very unprofessional. I had met her away from her work as the manager at LA fitness on Higley Road and the San tan 202 freeway. We had a great conversation and she invited me to come see her and mentioned that she was single. I am single and I was interested in April. When I finally got the opportunity to meet with her she wasn't exactly what I wanted and you could tell she was not excited about me as well. She asked me for my phone number. She asked me if I wanted to join the gym I told her I had a heart problem at the moment and I can't join any fitness clubs. I said please don't have any of your sales people reach out to me and try to sell me. Guess what? I got a phone call today from a sales guy at LA Fitness who could barely speak on the phone. Sounded like he was afraid of his own shadow. So April the manager gave my phone number to her sales department to harass me to join their club. I am so upset with what happened I am going to go up on the ladder and file a complaint. I actually do not recommend LA fitness on Higley Road and Santan 202 freeway. read more

My husband and I are 68 and 69 years old and we are seeing results we never thought we could accomplish. Derek is aware of our health issues and conducts our training accordingly.
