When the new Manager came over from another location, things got better, but there is always room for improvement. The Club is noticeably cleaner, with an attentive crew cleaning much more than before, though the pool & hot tub areas remain a bit sketchy as it is hard to keep them clean with so much usage. Fairly clean and machines are usually repaired quickly if they go down. Wish they were 24h but most places aren't any more so eh. they do open at 5 am so not too bad but are only open from 8 am to 8 pm on weekends. their kids club is pretty good haven't had issues with the staff there at all but only a half day on Friday and Saturday (till 12pm) is a little disappointing when kids have sports in the morning. read more

The most filthy shower's ever. No one has done a proper cleaning with bleach in all the showers for over 5 years. There idea of cleaning is maybe picking up hair. The mold has accumulated till it is white mold on the black tiles and black mold on the off tan tiles. There is a constant turnover of manager's and even the ones that are here do not have the showers cleaned properly. The tiles are so embedded with filth, shampoo/conditioner, hair dye, body wash, pubic hair shavings INCLUDING wax w/hair, occasional tampon , pads, and mold that they are beyond help. An acid wash probably wouldn't help. We are a big class of more than 30 people. This is the condition of the shower's when I arrive every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. I know I am speaking for all the other member's of our class when demanding that the manager be on duty by 8am and clean the showers him/herself if they are in this condition. If the manager refuses to clean them hire a cleaning service that guarantees their work. We also demand at least one additional bench be added to the dressing rooms. It is very hard for a class of up to 30 women (which are 99% senior citizens) to change clothes with only 3 benches. We pay money for the membership and deserved to be treated better. Maybe if we all quit our memberships LAFitness will take action. BEWARE of this place. read more

So I have recently been on a weight loss journey trying to get healthier and have lost 53 pounds in the last 5 months, now that I'm finished with the weight loss it's time for me to start burning off the rest of the fat and building muscle. So I decided to start looking for a gym to join, I was able to find a great deal through my employer to join LA Fitness and 2 weeks in at this gym I have to say I'm loving it , there is every type of weight training machine I could possibly need as well as cardio machines such as treadmills, ellipticals and stationary bikes. Also they have several racquet ball courts, a basketball court, Olympic size swimming pool, a spa, and a sauna not to mention all the classes they offer. I'm definitely glad I chose to join this gym and I'm excited to continue my fitness journey going forward here and I would definitely recommend this location for anyone who is looking to do the same! read more

Are the other reviewers talking about the same gym? It's dirty, equipment is down a lot and customer service at the front desk is very poor. They need to do better. As a paying member I have access to the entire gym including the aerobic room. I go in this morning to do an interval step & wts workout. The lights would come on as the front desk girl said they come in later on a timer. Ok..... well there were others in the room doing stretching, using the boxing bag etc. And wanting a workout in private. I've been in the fitness industry 30 yrs, worked the front desk, personal trained as well as teach group exercise classes. If the lights don't turn in, you probably should lock the room so no one gets hurt, trips etc. So many reasons why I'm going to another gym. It's the simple things that need to be addressed. read more

They have been out of hand sanitizer upstairs and at the main water fountains by the personal fitness training since Sunday 3/8/18. I have said something every day to the personnel and I know they would put it out if they had it. Paper towels upstairs frequently run out in the morning. I work out M-F at 5:15 am every day. This is a sanitary issue! I join on a yearly basis for the last 8 years. I will be looking for other places. read more

Decent facility overall, needs to replace and add additional cable machine accessories. Has gone downhill lately, seems to be ran by children. No adults in sight. No hello, or goodbye from the people up front anymore. Staff just hangs around doing nothing. Closes every chance they get and tries to impose stupid rules on the floor. My only complaint is a gentleman whom brings his "service dog", he lets it run around the gym freely and I had to take the dog back to its owner because it had cornered a lady and the lady was visually terrified of dogs and it didn't help the dog was trying to jump up onto her. The dog was not being aggresive but not all people may have good past experiences with dogs. I will also add that I have no issue with service dogs, I myself am a service member and I see the benefits of having a service dog for mental or physical injuries, but too many people purchase "service dogs" that are not actual service dogs, this is especially easy to tell when the dog is clearly not behaving the way a service trained dog should behave. read more

I recently signed up for a membership and have been going a couple of weeks. I really like it here, I'm an early riser so their 5am open time works for me during the week. I have also gone after work and still was able to get a machine. The machines aren't the newest but they are clean. Front office staff are nice and welcoming and I never feel like people are staring me down. No judgement, all shapes and sizes are at the gym. It never feels like some walk of shame to the treadmills or weight machines. I also love the dry sauna in the ladies bathroom. Overall not a bad place to get my workout in and leave. read more

This gym does always have machines available because it is so empty. They have two floors and almost everything you can ask for. Separate dry sauna in locker rooms and both a lap pool and hot tub. You can also use your membership state wide. Extremely clean! I came on a week pass and before I was even able to try anything out, they spent an hour and a half trying to get me to buy a membership. I'm glad I stalled! No complementary towels like 24 hour and crazy expensive, even for a month to month membership. Thank you, but I'm on a budget. read more

This gym has plenty of working machines that are kept clean and in operating condition. The locker rooms are clean too. Machines are always available and I never had to wait...which was part of the problem. This gym was so empty, I'm surprised there wasn't tumbleweed rolling through. I attended a spin class during the evening and there were only 3 other people in the class besides the instructor. I attended Body Works Plus Abs and it was just as sad. I'm surprised they didn't cancel the classes due to low participation. I ended up switching to 24 Hour Fitness, which is full of energy, but unfortunately not as nice and clean. If you just want to use the machines and you don't mind that the gym closes early on the weekends, this gym might be the one for you. read more

LA Fitness - Gyms Near Me - Westworth Village, Texas

The spin bikes are a good brand, Kaiser. However, they have no monitors on them. So you cannot track rpm, distance or speed. Whoever purchased bikes apparently has never taken a spin class. Have never seen any other LA Fintess club or any gym leave monitors off of their spin bikes. This gym is ok. Have been to LA Fitness clubs in five states. Not the best or worst club. By far not the dirtiest LA Fitness club I have been to. Wish there were more classes or Pilate reformer classes. Women's sauna is big and doesn't smell like other LA fitness clubs I have been to. L A Fitness needs to build a club closer to Aledo/Hudson Oaks area. There are no places out here who have pool, sauna, yoga , Pilates and weight machines all in one. If they don't build one, I hope Lifetime Fitness does. Over 3,000 houses are being built out this way. LA Fitness update your equipment. Consider Hip rotators, Spin bike monitors, Octane Fitness Lateral Ellipticals (great for inner/outer thighs, obliques, legs, etc). read more

I enjoy going to this gym , nothing is ever wrong whenever i have been there , until today. Today, was the kidz klub first time being open on saturday morning since i've been coming here & I am now thinking twice about having my son in the kidz klub now. I was heading upstairs to the cardio machines when i noticed the daycare lady walking kids to the water fountain ... so then my mom instinct kicked in and I automatically hurried to the kidz klub ( i know she would't have left the babies unattended) anyways before I walk in the room I could hear my son crying at the top of his lungs and as im looking through the door I see an employee just sitting there watching him cry at the top of his lungs , get that I can literally hear my son through the doors . I rushed in the doors and its like he did not even care that my son was crying ... and it hurt my heart because he is literally only 5 months and he was just watching him cry like it wasnt a problem to him. I will continue to go to this gym but im afraid to bring my son now because I have not been that hurt ever until I heard him crying and that employee not doing ANYTHING ... to prevent him to stop. read more

This gym has everything you could want, and the thing we love Is that we are able to get on any piece of equipment anytime we want and the pool is open for lap swimming almost all of the time unless they have a class there. What I really want to review is the training provided by Rachel. She is extremely knowledgeable and professional, and has been able to tailor a training program that is challenging and produces results. I would highly recommend her as a trainer! read more

Really annoying experience with this location. I just moved to the FW area in search of a new gym - signed up for a free 3 day guest pass, and when I went the "general manager" (James J.) tells me that in order to test the facility out I would have to leave a $60 deposit that could be refunded within 5 days if I decide to change my mind (trying to con me into signing up - nothing worse than a terrible salesman). When I stated that my work offered a discount through LA fitness for $0 startup fees he said I would have to pay it and get refunded, again, swing & a miss. I think proper training on integrity would be in order for this employee. I guess that's what I get for trying to switch gyms from Anytime Fitness for the experience huh, I would recommend to check them out, and avoid LA fitness. read more

I joined this LA Fitness club back in 2007. At that time, the gym was kept impeccably clean. The Aqua Fit classes and yoga classes were taught by certified instructors and they were excellent. The locker rooms: Filthy. For the past 2 years this club has not employed a cleaning staff during the day. The manager has to clean and pick up in the locker room and showers during the day. Many of the new members DON'T FLUSH TOILETS, DON'T PICK UP HAIR FROM THE SHOWER AND SINK DRAINS, LEAVE MAKE UP STAINS AND DIRTY PAPER TOWELS ON THE TABLES. Whoever cleans at night or on weekends is obviously not supervised or taught. Aqua Fit instructor: A joke. For the past few years they have an elderly lady who started teaching as a volunteer. I don't even know if she is certified. She has had many medical problems which she shares with the class and knows nothing about teaching, anatomy, proper warm-ups, and is not consistent with movement names. She brings her "emotional support" dog to the pool where it sits on the wet floor where the members walk barefoot. The dog barks, drinks from the pool, and runs up and down the side of the pool. The pool: Run down. The manager told me the pool has been on a schedule for the past 2 years to get emptied, re-stuccoed, properly cleaned, drains cleaned and pool refilled. Why hasn't it been done? The manager told me the Aqua Fit class is very popular and they don't want to stop it for 3 weeks. The current "teacher" used to be a student in this class before she volunteered to teach it for $12 an hour (so she says). The class is taught only for those age 75+ and up. It's all about the fun and the socializing. The music is too loud, the teacher screams. She knows nothing. The class is NOT taught to keep the body healthy. I believe she has the job because no one complains. I have complained, no results. It seems corporate doesn't want to pay for a good knowledgeable certified instructor. I just hope no one gets hurt and sues. This club could be so great. Too bad. read more

I was very disappointed with the experience I had at this location. When I arrived at the parking lot around 8:45 PM all of the parking lot lights were out and it was pitch black in the parking lot. I notified the person at the reception desk and he yelled across to the manager who is in the cubicles to the right. Someone mumbled about already knowing the lights of been off. It was so dark I felt it was not only a safety hazard for driving but also for patrons coming and going from the club. However this in different treatment was not the worst of what I encountered. As I was walking away the club manager and what appeared to be a sales associate were mocking me and making fun of me because they perceived me to be gay. They were making fun and being very animated and saying very hurtful things. I began using one of the machines and the sales associate basically rolled backwards in his seat to gawk at me more and the GM was laughing so hard and laid his head on his desk. This was one of the most humiliating experiences of my entire life. There were three young guys working the front desk and in those desk and creating a very intimidating environment. This is not a welcoming or friendly place it is hostile and cruel. They were also laughing at people who are overweight in the club. I can assure you I will be contacting corporate and will be canceling my membership with LA fitness and going to a company that doesn't discriminate. read more

This gym seems to be a bit hotter than the location on west 7th? I swear it's 10 degrees warmer. The layout is nice. I like the cardio equiptment being upstairs. I live in NRH and my boyfriend lives in Lake Worth. We usually meet in the middle and work out at the Keller location (my daily location). I got the chance to check this gym out last night and I can't believe I have read several reviews where people are COMPLAINING about "emptiness". My location is always ridiculously over crowded, and it's something I always complain about (I guess I'm the opposite, I can't stand when the gym is over crowded and you have to be on top of people during your workout). I LOVED this location and I wish it were closer to me. I LOVED the emptiness! All of the equipment was clean, well taken care of, and I didn't notice any broken machines which I see A LOT at other LA locations. I didn't have to wait for any machines. There were no pushy trainers here or any hard time checking in. Everything just seemed clean and easy and there was so much space. I used the weights first and than tried the upstairs for some cardio and I overall loved the layout of this location too. I really can't think of any negatives from my first visit! If you like: 1. Lots of space 2. Weights being open for use and put back where they belong 3. Not over crowded 4. No pushy trainers 5. Easy check in 6. Very clean This is a great location! read more

Dissapointed in this location. The cardio equipment is a mess. I tried 3 elliptical machines in a row, the first made a thumping noise, the 2nd wouldn't start, and the 3rd wobbled at the base. The Startrac treadmills are terribly old, the belt slipped on the first 2 I tried using, the heart rate handle was coming off another machine, and several others would not start. read more

I've been a member since 2008. Last week I went in to discuss personal training. A staff memember, Hunter, verbally made promises in order to get me and my friend to sign up for training. Because I have had such a positive experience with this gym franchise for the past 11 years, I trusted that the promises being made verbally would be honored. The next day my friend and I returned to Hunter's desk and asked for clarification of the terms of our Personnal training contract, and he told us he was not able to access it because he was not in sales!!! He was extremely rude and condescending. We did some research and found out that Hunter has a history of making promises to clients that he either had no intention of honoring or can not. I called corporate and spoke to Kelsey who was just as rude as Hunter and unapologetic about situation, which can easily be rectified. I made it clear that I am a loyal customer that has a family memembership (5 memberships to be exact) and that I have always honored my agreement with the club by paying my dues monthly. I only ask that they honor the verbal promise that their employee made to me in front of two other witnesses in regards to my personal training, especially when they know this employee, Hunter, will say whatever it takes to make the sale! After two phone calls with Kelsey that did not lead to a satisfactory resolution, I asked for her manager to call me back. Kelsey told me that there was a slim chance of me receiving a return called and guaranteed that I would not get a positive resolution if I was lucky enough to be called back! What kind of customer service is this??? Why would anyone sign up at the Ridgmar location of LA Fitness, if corporate is not going to intervene when their employees are rude, deceptive, and making fraudulent promises to clients in order to make a sale? Beware of this location and of Hunter. LA Fitness has transferred him from at least one other location for making fraudulent claims to clients in order to make a sale, in the past. Customer service, loyalty, and professional ethics are obviously not important to LA Fitness!!! read more
