We have not been here in a while and remembered them having a 5 taco plate on Tuesdays for a discounted price. The tacos are normally $3.50 each and you get 5 tacos for $14.99. my husband and I split the platter. We ordered 3 asada tacos Mexican style (cilantro and onion) and two American style (lettuce and tomatoes) my husband ordered a large Horchata. The Horchata was really good but the tacos lacked flavor. The Mexican style came with limes which helped but the meat was bland and a little chewy. We will be back again and will try something else. The restaurant was very clean and the waitress waited on us right away and was very kind and pleasant. They have a lot of items on the menu (even alcoholic beverages) There was a man at the table next to us eating soup and it looked amazing! I think I will get that next time. The decor is fun and festive and there are seven 4 person booths and a couple of small tables with chairs. There is a his and a hers bathroom. They have two televisions on the Spanish channel and Spanish music playing in the background. The dining room is nice and bright too. Highly recommend giving this place a try! Today I ordered tacos with tomato lettuce and cheese and they charged me 50 cents per taco extra for the cheese do you see much and the cheese here what a rip-off. Normally I get tacos with onion and cilantro. I had no clue they were gonna charge me extra. Also if you don't pay with cash that's another fee. I've been going to this place since they opened. I'm not going back to be nickeled and dimed this is crazy there are way too many other places in the area to get Mexican food. read more

My rating is based on the tacos. I had 3 tacos: asada, Al pastor, Pollo. Asada was not a typical asada, sliced thinly, almost shawarma like. The Al Pastor was good. It had a nice color to it. It was on the sweeter side, not pineapple like but more onion. The onion was almost caramelized. I enjoyed it. Once again, if you're looking for a good chicken taco, they have one. Not your typical grilled or cooked on the flattop, that I know of. It was shredded with a little tomato and onion mixed in. It was very tender and juicy. They had a large selection which I will have to try another day. I also had a Pepino agua Fresca and it was good. The place itself was very clean. A very nice ambiance. Good music, Mexican music playing in the background. I'm surprised it only has the rating it has. I only have 45 minute break so I needed something fast. I came in and ordered and within 5-10 minutes from the time I ordered, my food was ready. I was not disappointed. The chips and salsa served before the meal were terrible. The chips were absolutely disgusting and the salsa was served in squeeze bottles and not in a bowl as is customary. My burrito al pastor tasted like sand paper as if the pork was cooked a week ago and kept warm and dry for the last seven days. The music was so loud that I could barely speak to my two sons without yelling. To add insult to injury, their suggested tip amounts included all of the taxes and surcharges. I ordered the Ribeye as the meat and received a paper thin slice of meat with some iceberg lettuce and unripe tomatoes. Check the menu closely as the typical toppings like cheese and sour cream were all additional charges (really?). I think the food is really good here, authentic and freshly made. My mom had a really good champurrado with her meal. The only thing that is disappointing to this place is it's not very handicapped accessible. My mom is in a wheelchair. The aisles are very small , we could only sit in one seat by the door because all the other furniture is bolted down. Getting to the bathroom was a pain in the Neck and there should really be at least one handicap space in the parking lot. All in all i'd come back only to get take out . There's just to many equally good Mexican restaurants around that think about all customers. If I'm with mom I'll take her else where . Shame that it's under a mile from her, seems it would be convenient but , it's really not. It actually seems unwelcoming to handicap people:( read more

Went here last night and the server was extremely rude. So rude that we ended up leaving. We were looking forward to eating here after not doing so the entire time of COVID. The food here is great but I don't know what was up with this girl. First of all, there are only like 8-9 tables in the place. Half of them were still blocked off. Fine, I get it, every business has a right to decide how they "re-open". There was one table that had just left, so we sat in it and waited for the waitress to come clean the table. She came around and asked if we had been at the table and we told her we had just arrived. She rudely said we should have come to the register to let her know. Okay, I'll give her that one, I probably would have but she actually came to the table fairly quickly after we took a seat. So she ran back to get some cleaning supplies and came back and asked if we could move so she could clean the table, which we did. Then as she was finishing up she told my wife (again in a very rude tone) there was a waiting list at the register. We disagreed as there was no one else waiting except for one person waiting on a take out order. There was no notice on the door and no one greeting us when we arrived. I did not feel comfortable that a person with this attitude was going to be serving us. So we walked out and left. We went to a place that was completely open. Had about 80 tables and ALL were open. Our waitress was welcoming and attentive. Needless to say her tip was reflective of the great service. As I said, we really do like La Fogata's food. Im not sure if we will be back. We do really like the food but this experience has left a sour feeling. This review is more about the service. Hopefully this particular waitress will be gone and there will be a more welcoming atmosphere once they fully open. read more

For a little tiny hole in the wall place you really can't go wrong, I've loved everything thing make. My favorite time to come in the morning when they're not too busy, it's hard to get a table for dinner on the weekends. Even the coffee is good. This small bundle of joy is tucked in a little corner of a not-very-busy commercial strip. I had been overlooking it for a year now as Burger King sits right in-front of it hiding it comprehensively. The resolve to visit this joint was instant while I was waiting at the take-away window of Burger King which faces La-Fogata. It was a cloudy Saturday and the hunger pangs were worse. I loved it when no-body greeted us at the door or helped us to get seated. I wanted it to be like this, an informal and casual joint. We couldn't help but notice the yellow front wall studded with traditional Mexican decor. We took our time roaming around and having a look at the Spanish/English description of menu with illustrative pictures. As we had seated ourselves, the server offered carrots and green pepper pickle with green and red sauce served with tacos. The server was friendly and helped us decide, chose sides and adjust spices. I decided to take vegetarian platter with black beans, rice and diced vegetables. My friend ordered tacos with chicken and cheese. My apologies for I suck at remembering the names of dishes. Perfectly cooked, colourful and legit Mexican taste. The ambiance complemented the food very well. Great service. Our glasses were kept filled and the server checked very appropriately. Small restaurant with no ac. I was going to enjoy some Mexican food it was a hot day out and when I walked into this place it was hotter than outside. They have a little ac unit that don't do nothing because it can't cool a place that big especially when the kitchen is in the dining area. Anyway I order quesadillas one ham, steak and a chicken. I took my food to go I couldn't be inside the oven any longer. I sat in my car with my kids with the ac on. The ham and steak quesadilla are really good but the chicken is a tingia quesadilla and my son didn't like it and I didn't either. The quesadilla is like the only good stuff there been here two different times and I have ordered there seafood cocktail and a huachinango and the cocktail shrimp were hard and just taste bad and the huachinango is market price which was funny because you can go anywhere and enjoy a better huachinango for a cheaper set price. 19 minutes ago If I cld give no stars I would! Just went out to eat here tonight. NEVER AGAIN!!! Been going here since they opened. Tonight when we get there we see a waitress "cleaning" tables with a DRY rag which she used without cleaning it from table to table. Essentially she was dusting the tables. She then went to wait on tables without even washing her hands and just left the rag on one of the tables. She brought me my coke "carefully placed" in her ARMPIT! As we began to eat our chips and salsa we noticed someone elses chips broken off in the bottom of our re-used salsa. The carrots and peppers were also re-used. Yes we left before eating any more. I wont be back and intend on contacting the health department. This is what happens when people do not have a sanitation certificate or proper training. LOVED this place! I got the 2 taco dinner, my Boyfriend got the Carne Asada dinner. Seeing as the restaurant is rated 3 stars on here we were a bit skeptical, but after our lunch here there's no way this place deserves only 3 stars. The staff was pleasant,the food was delicious, and the environment was clean and welcoming. I love hitting up Mexican places and find a lot of restaurants tend to be overly greasy or bland. Not this place. Everything was fresh and seasoned just enough. And the icing on the cake was being able to watch the fish swim around in the little pond they have set up! I cannot believe I have not review La Fogata until now! This is our regular place to call ahead when we want some good Mexican take-out. Some of their prices might seem higher than average but their portions are HUGE! We usually get 2 - 3 meals out of just one dish from there, depending on what we get.
