First time brunchers at the Vig! We were daring and sat outside in 100 degree weather but misters helped. They could use more though, tbh. Just about half of their patio space is usable when it's 100 degrees and the rest just bakes in the sun. They have one of the best patios around so that's what keeps us coming back. It's local, it's tucked in the corner and the brunch was good. We shared a pretzel and cinnamon roll for the table (6 people) as appetizers and each got an entree. Both were just okay. Roll was dry but frosting good and the pretzel is just okay always but easy to share. Turkey club, burger, chicken enchiladas, kids Mac n cheese, strawberry pancakes (the best!!!), and hot honey chicken sandwich. Was about $130 for us all, no alcohol. read more

Have not been to The Vig in a while. We'll have to put this restaurant on our list of places to return. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice. Our seat last night was indoors, but the windows were open so you felt like you were outdoors. Our party of four all enjoyed our various meals. I had the chopped chicken salad. I usually get the dressing on the side, but forgot to ask for that this time. It did not matter as they put just the right amount on. Although this was my first time eating at this Vig location, the level of service, the atmosphere of the establishments, and the quality of the food seems to always be consistent, regardless of the location. On my most recent visit, I tried their Hot Honey Chicken sandwich, and WOW was it good! The piece of chicken on the sandwich was huge and the vinegar coleslaw on the sandwich really helps make it unique. A clean restaurant, friendly and attentive staff, and consistent food quality... The Vig at McCormick earned three stars. It wasn't a terrible experience, but I'm not in a hurry to return and I wouldn't recommend to a friend. Here's the rundown. Love - warm chips with guacamole as an appetizer Meh - sautéed shrimp tacos. The habanero sauce was overpowering. I would've preferred to taste the marinated coleslaw and fresh cilantro. We stumbled upon The Vig while looking for a happy hour spot with a good vibe. It was empty when we arrived but filled up quickly, which says a lot. The open-air setup is great, with a large bar and TVs, a beautiful outdoor area, and solid service. We enjoyed chatting with the GM and would definitely come back for the atmosphere and good conversation alone. Food-wise, it was hit or miss: * The hummus crudité was good but nothing standout; appreciated the generous portion of veggies. * Nachos were good, especially the crema * Pretzel was good, served warm, not too salty * The grilled chicken chopped salad was much smaller than expected. I really wanted to love this place but it was just okay. A friend and I came for their happy hour on a Wednesday night. We grabbed an outdoor patio table to take advantage of the nice weather. The menu options looked good & great pricing on the drinks. I had to try the adult happy meal which came with a martini, fries and a Caesar salad. The food was decent but nothing too outstanding. The most meh aspect for me was our server. I feel like once we got our food we never saw her again. I would've loved to stay and enjoy another drink. Came to the Vig for brunch on a Saturday around 11. Had to hunt down a worker to place my to go order. I ordered a chorizo burrito. The burrito tasted a little underwhelming. The inside looked mushy and in my opinion, didn't have great flavour. A side salad was kind of dumped on top of the burrito. I ordered food for the whole office and was really disappointed. I got a Reuben, but it didn't have any sauerkraut. They did issue a refund, but I'm not coming back. I don't get why the manager suggested I order extra when I'm already paying $22 for a pastrami Reuben. I'm not spending more money for something I should've gotten in the first place. Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. The restaurant wasn't busy at all yet the service was far from just decent. Everything took for ever to get. Never checked on the table and it was a large group. When the sun started hitting our table too much and because the patio was basically empty we asked to move to the shaded area and the server that was bringing the food out rolled her eyes at us. Too many other good spots, don't waste your time. Stopped in yesterday for happy hour with friends, when we arrived they moved us out of the bar into a dining room. Not sure why but the manager claimed it was so that we would be more comfortable. The move was followed with absolutely terrible service, including our server barely checking on us and forgetting multiple drink orders. Lastly, we asked to have the USA World Cup game put on about 4 times, including to the manager and were basically ignored until another table asked. Had Sunday brunch here around 12:30. We sat at the bar. The bloody marys here are perfect for brunch! Tasted spicy and not watered down like other places. It had good flavor. I had 2 of them. He went with a Guinness beer x3. We had a lot of drinks the night prior so didn't want to overdo it that day. I ordered a turkey sausage breakfast sandwich. That was really good. The habanero salsa it came with was delicious! The potatoes it came with were a tad salty but not bad. He didn't feel like eating so he skipped food. Service was great. I've always heard about this place and how it's very popular in the valley, so hubby and I tried it for Friday night date night. We made a reservation for the patio which is highly recommended. The patio has tall walls around it so sun doesn't blare in your eyes when it's setting. This location is dog friendly and they have heaters for the 3 days a year in AZ when you'd need them. We were there for happy hour so we took advantage of that. I ordered the strawberry fields cocktail which was delicious but I likened it a cherry popsicle, not anything strawberry. We enjoyed the freshness and crispy crunch of the potato chips that accompany the happy hour onion dip, but the texture of the dip itself was almost grainy. The flavor was good, but I didn't enjoy the texture. I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich. It was neither hot nor honey flavored but the chicken was crunchy and the slaw gave a good vinegar kick. Hubby said the flavor of his cheesesteak was good, but it was too much bread for his liking. Overall, the flavors were enjoyable, but we didn't get what we expected for a few of the dishes. My friend and I were in Scottsdale for work, and a friend recommended The Vig. We decided to try it for lunch, and it was the best decision we made. The atmosphere of the restaurant was a nice mix of casual and upscale. The outdoor seating area was amazing. I had fish tacos and my friend had slider burgers. We both couldn't stop talking about how good the food was so we even went back the next day. And that is saying a lot because when I'm in a different city, I always like to try new things. Rarely do I go back to a restaurant a second time. all the servers we came in contact with were cheery, pleasant, and very accommodating. First off, the espresso martinis were killer--so good that I immediately started singing in my head, "Say you can't sleep, baby, I know that's that me espresso!" First time I came to this location. From the moment we came in the entry host seems like he dreaded to see us walking through the doors. The food was great- the hot honey chicken sandwich was divine. I wasnt sure because it came with a "white bbq sauce" but it was more like an aoili, and it was so good. I probably wouldn't come to this location but just because of the unenthusiastic service.
