This is a very hard place to find- there's no signage and it's tucked away in the back of an Old Town strip mall. There's also very poor air circulation given that it's a sports bar it can get very hot inside. I ordered a single cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and it was $9.75 not a bad price for a sport bar in Old Town. It came with the "works" per say. Lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and a special sauce which was pink- almost tasted like a aïoli. If you are into sports this would be a great place to go as the food is fairly well priced, is pretty good tasting and I don't think anything is frozen or at least it tasted like it was all fresh. A few cons are there isn't service at your table and you have to go up to the bar to order. There is only one area you can order for both food + drinks. My boyfriend and I had originally had dinner reservations at a different restaurant but it wasnt open quite yet. Wandered into El Camino to get a drink before our original plans, however the deals were so good here we decided to stay. We were going to go to 40 love for a late valentine's celebration as we both worked that weekend. But seeing how reasonable prices were we canceled our original plan and got ourselves a feast here! We got poverty nachos, gringo tacos, I got a single smash burger with fries and my boyfriend got the double smash burger and naked wings. This place was such a great find that we happened to stumbleupon. The bartenders were very nice and friendly and the business filled up so quickly that you know its quite popular. There were also so many regulars that stopped by too we noticed. I would definitely come back. For old town Scottsdale I would say this place has the best prices. At home and lazy, looking for a quick and simple burger and fries. In a recent Phoenix magazine, an old Scottsdale dive, El Camino was featured. This is a simple bar with inexpensive and good food. We ordered the bacon smash burger, fries, order of rings and ground beef soft tacos. The sweet onion jam, bacon smash burger with lettuce, tomato and pickles was simple, tasty and a great sweet crunch. It needed no sauce and was crunchy at the edges. The shoestring fries and rings were frozen, not homemade. The ground beef taco to no one's surprise was fair and lacked flavor. Overall, the value was good and food was ok, except for the bacon smash burger, nicely done. The service was fair as it is bar. I would return for a quick meal but not a great dining experience as one would expect. First of all the interior of this place is a whole vibe! Clean, new but old school appearing small town bar vibes, they nailed it. Plenty of TVs and good sound system to watch sports. The smashburger was the best we've found in Scottsdale by FAR. Beats out lots of the popular places. The buns are perfectly soft, burgers smashed and flavorful. We opted to forgo the Lettuce and tomato, and substitute for caramelized onion. House sauce is wonderfully seasoned and tasty. Not to forget, the shoestring fries are cooked to a beautiful golden crisp perfection. Add on a side of ranch for a perfect pairing! I used to love this place but after they hired a new bartender, I literally can't get my order correct. If I ask to have it corrected, she f's it up even more. IF I come back I'll literally walk right back out if she's working. To be honest, most of the time I come here, the server/bartender has the 1000 yard stare like they just came back from "the war." Welp this is disappointing. I'll start with the fact that I'm here weekly. However, today absolutely missed the mark. Starting with being out of several beers, including both can and draft. It just so happens that they were also out of onion rings as well. To boot, the fries and burgers came out cold. With the lettuce, tomato or pickle missing on the side. Granted there was only one person working, but so was amount of guests in the restaurant. so it was not an ideal lunch. I love this place, and recommend it to near everyone I come across but if this wants to be considered a scottsdale staple, this was boarderline inexcusable. I can understand being out a few items, but it is also Wednesday. There is little to no excuse at that point for today since they should be ready for the bachelor and bachelorette parties coming into town. First, the classic double burger was very good. And probably worth $9.45 on it's own. However, it comes with fries, which is awesome and an unbeatable value especially for the heart of Old Town. BUT the fries were COLD, which is a cardinal sin. Basically inedible. If either of the servers had asked me how things were I would have mentioned it. But alas, no one checked in, and even when I left the huge pile of fries on the tray she just asked if I wanted a box. I understand that shoestring fries go cold quicker and these would have been great if they were hot. But they were cold and therefore greasy too. Because they're shoestring, You've gotta change your cooking process so that each order of fries is made to order and timed to come out of the fryer just before the order leaves the window. Otherwise, cold fries. The ranch was also not good. Surely came from an industrial sized vat of cheap ranch. Wish they made their own. The Heinz glass ketchup bottles are nice though. Parking can be tricky especially on weekends. Cool space, nice TVs, nice wall of windows that open to the sidewalk. No patio which is a bummer. Only one stall bathroom for this large restaurant and it's directly in front of the kitchen door (yuck) and with one of those loud air-assisted flushing toilets (can hear it from 100% of the restaurant) which is annoying and an oversight to put it in that location and only have one. Asked for carmelized onions but didn't get them. Oh well, at least they took off the $.50 upcharge. The add-ons are very reasonable ($.50). Menu clarity could be improved. The "sandwich" sections says you can get fries or a green salad for the same price. Burger section just says fries. The Bacon and El Camino descriptions need to clarify how many patties are on each burger. The American Cobb salad needs a description. I hope this place makes it, corrects the issues above, and keeps their prices ridiculously low! read more

Great new spot in old town. Good prices are really good! Less than $10 for a burger and fries. For starters we got hot wings and the onion rings. The wings were really good, spicy and saucy. Onion rings were good. For mains we got the double cheese smash burger with fries and the Gringo Tacos. The smash burger was so good. Amazing. The gringos tacos were good as well. Hard shells, plain non-spiced ground beef, sour cream, tomato's and lettuce. If you're a gringo these are right up your alley. We asked for house margaritas and they were very good as well.
