I used to come here almost every week for their beer which I love and the happy hour menu. The Baja fish taco was my favorite thing and highlight whenever I came. What I got : Monsoon ipa Chips and salsa with $3 extra charge for queso with it Nachos Brewmaster pizza Chicken tenders Fish and chips Beer was pretty solid. I liked the flavor of it. Chips and salsa were standard and all right. The salsa part was basically an American Mexican fusion type very puréed no spice. And the queso part of it was cold as heck no spice basic flavor. But for nine dollars, you get what you pay for I guess. Nachos were good pretty standard ones chips weren't too soggy which was great. The pizza honestly kind of tasted like generic pizza you get in the frozen section , tenders pretty crispy nothing much to say they use cornmeal to fry it in, and fish and chips got a good deal from it. They gave a lot of food so I think how expensive they charge you for it is worth the price because of the amount of food but they definitely didn't taste like the world's greatest as the menu makes it out to seem read more

My friends and I had a fun lunch here. Our server was Oscar and he was super attentive and friendly. We enjoyed our draft beer selections. I had the Fish & Chips which were delicious. It's 3 good size pieces of beer battered cod and cross cut fries. My BF went with a Wedge Salad with Shrimp which he really enjoyed. There were 6 of us in our party and we all agreed that the food and beers were great! They even have their canned beer to go. Been to another PHX Beer Co. location, and this one seems pretty nice. The inside is small, but when I visited, it wasn't busy. We ordered a drink, pretzel bites, and fries. Service was fast, and the server was nice. There was a really loud and rowdy table there. With the place being sort of empty so it seems extra overbearing. The food was pretty good at the quality expected in a pub. The pretzel bites are hard. Maybe it's overbaked? Not sure why. The fries are actually waffle fries, which I did not expect. I wish the menu would indicate that since I was wanting regular fries. Either way, nice place. read more

Good brewery in the McCormick ranch Mercado! Good beer, I had two of the gold or whatever it's called, I'd go back. I'm somewhat partial because fate brewery is one of my favorite places in the valley, not just breweries, so I'm somewhat or a tough critic... but I'd go back here! We were looking for a breakfast place and got a recommendation for a place in the same parking lot/strip mall as PHX Beer. That place was packed with a crazy hour and a half wait, so we looked around and saw PHX Beer and decided to try it out. PHX Beer is a cool place tucked away in a central but somehow a corner of the mall. The have a huge interior and a nice sized outdoor eating area. That's where we sat. Our server was incredibly friendly and quick with drinks and recommendations. My wife got some kind of skillet without meat, and my son got a bit of both a skillet and french toast. I got their B.Y.O.B. (Build Your Own Burger). The breakfast options were plentiful and nicely prepared and the skillet actually is served in a skillet. I think she got the corned beef hash skillet minus the hash. It has a base of breakfast potatoes (well done - just how she likes them) with scrambled egg whites, red peppers, green peppers, salsa, onions, and Swiss cheese with sourdough toast. It really looked good. The French toast also looked really good and came with a side of fruit. He got the All In (2 sausage patties, 2 strips of bacon, 2 eggs, breakfast potatoes, and sourdough toast but replaced the sourdough with the French toast. It all looked and smelled wonderful. I got lunch instead of breakfast. My B.Y.O.B. is a 1/2 lb. or grass fed brisket patty, which is a little juicier. My choice of cheese, which I took American, with lettuce, pickles, and mustard. It was a great burger. It came with slaw or seasoned fries, so I chose the fries. They were perfectly made, not too crispy and not too soggy. Like Goldilocks, they were just right. The bottomless Diet soda also helped the meal. I know that Butters Pancakes and Cafe is in the same lot and has the long lines to get in, but, skip that nonsense line and go to PHX Beer. We were satisfied immensely with our meals. The service was great, the ambiance nice outside overlooking the pond, and it's a great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. When I'm back in Phoenix, I'll be back to PHX Beer. read more

First Timers here tonight for a Marquette Law School Alumni gathering. As 'the spouse'; I have to say this place has excellent staff & treated us like royalty! I knew no one- other than my husband but it didn't matter. Perfect place to meet new friends!! The entire area was extremely busy. Lots of parking & plenty for all the restaurants & bars in the area. Beautiful day in Phoenix to sit on a patio. Great beer selection obviously. Monsoon is a delicious IPA. The fish and chips live up to their claim of being the best! Our waiter was a Hispanic gentleman (can't remember his name) who was nice and fun. My fiancée had the hamburger and he really liked it. Great French fries too. I had the pretzel bites and I liked them too. Would have upped the stars but the tomato basil soup was NOT good--left it all in the bowl. If a customer leaves a full bowl of soup (very large bowl!) and says "no" to a take home carton, wouldn't you think the waiter should ask if something was wrong? Went to dinner with a friend Wednesday evening. She ordered Chicken slider and I ordered 4 Taco plate, 1/2 Chicken 1/2 Al Pastor. I gave a Al Pastor taco to her. I woke up with painful stomach cramps Wednesday overnight. Thursday late evening began severe intestinal issues! Lasting for hours and hours. Classic signs of food poisoning. We enjoyed our afternoon lunch at PHX Beer. We walked in mid-week with a party of 10 including 2 kids. They were able to accommodate us at the high top by the open patio doors. It was very nice looking out at the lake and enjoying the fresh air. The patio is also dog friendly. Our server was nice and attentive. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for beverages or a few minutes for food and the restaurant was busy. Everyone liked their bloody Mary's, wine, beer and the kids had chocolate milk. They even brought the kids crayons and coloring papers which kept the little's occupied. The food was tasty including the BLAT, burgers, Rueben, chicken sandwiches and salads. We all said we would skip the fries and Cole slaw next visit and opt for a different side. We will be back to check out the weekend brunch. read more

My husband and I came here for happy hour to watch some March Madness games. I can't say much about the food because we only ordered chips, salsa and queso and their fries. My husband had a couple of beers and I had a couple of margaritas. The food on the menu looked good, but we were having a big family dinner later so that's why we just stuck to the snacks. It took awhile to get the tv switched from espn nfl to a game but after asking about 3 times they finally changed it. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. The pretzel bites have a sticky glaze that I don't care for and the cheese dip wasn't cravable. I go the figgy peach drink which is a misnomer as there is no fig innit anymore. Great spot to stop into on a bike ride! It's located right by the canal so very convenient location and plenty of bike racks. The bar is good sized and has plenty of TVs. It's was a beautiful day for a seafood dinner on the water. Okay, it was "Fish & Chips" on McCormick Ranch Lake, but it really was a wonderful & refreshing couple of hours looking at the mini-waves, fountains & glistening water. The "Fish & Chips" & the Ruben Sandwich are a couple of their top picks. You can see in my photo that the portion of (beer battered) Alaskan Cod is a lot!!! There are 3 huge pieces. They're like "burrito" shaped, and it's like eating more than that, haha. But, the fish is flaky, the beer batter is light, and the deep-fried taste is clean. But, wow, after the first 2 pieces with tarter sauce & some of the waffle chips, the "greasiness" (that is SO delicious for the first half) started to weigh on my tummy. I kept eating though, because it was so good! By the time I finished the second piece, I wanted to curl up and take a nap. Haha Would I have it again? Absolutely! Welp, this was underwhelming. This is a great example of "just because it is a nice area doesn't mean it's any good." Or rather this place should just turn into a tap room + cocktails because that's the only thing they can do right. My fiance and I ordered a PB&J Burger and mango habanero wings. The wings were the toughest, overcooked wings I've ever had. The only reason why I didn't send it back was because I was starving when I came here. The PB&J burger was simple as in the highlighted flavors weren't really present. The patty was cooked well, however. Their drinks are phenomenal. My fiance ordered a flight which 3 of the 4 were house beers which he enjoyed. I ordered a strawberry smash cocktail that was delicious as well. We both would have ordered more drinks if we had better service. Our server only took our order after we asked a different server to take ours since we couldn't find out server anywhere. And while we did see her occasionally while eating, she wasn't present enough to order our second drinks before we felt it necessary to just leave. We've been stopping by here after our golf lessons and it's a great spot for that. There are always available spots on a Saturday late afternoon and we prefer to sit by the bar. They have some really great beers, one of my favorites is the Sonoran White Chocolate (pair it with the brownie sundae they have). Also love the Arizona Gold, Copper Ale, and Beyond the Peel. Yes, so I've loved every single one I've tried thus far. We also love to order the buffalo wings (good - not the best) and macaroni & cheese (now this is awesome). Have yet to try the other foods but it is a very limited menu fyi. Don't expect the cheesecake factory's plethora of choices. Service is always super friendly and quick at the bar. Plenty of tellies tuned into sports so you don't have to talk to your friends if you don't wanna (or gives you something to talk about) or pretend to stare at your phone the whole time. Great spot. Complex 3 star review. Will need to try again. Positives Beer: 5 stars. Table had a bit of variety. All great beers. Extra Juicy IPA was awesome. Appetizers: Wings and fried pickles. Meaty wings. Good sauce. While I prefer "circle" cut fried pickles, spears were still nicely coated and cooked. Patio/View: Gorgeous AZ sunset with a view of the lake. Yes! Second server: Hayden. Cool dude. Amazing communicator. Relatable human being. Couldn't believe he wasn't the manager. Negatives Entrees: All 7 we're between bad and okay. Dry and overcooked fish. Brisket was okay, but that's an insult to what a brisket can be. Half the table was sever 10 minutes before the second half and one of the second half was burger was a legit hockey puck and was sent back. Took 25 minutes to remake, everyone was done eating when it arrived. This is the worst entree experience I've had at s restaurant in maybe 5+ years. Other servers/staff/food runners: I felt repeatedly ignored when saying "excuse me" when people passed. I can understand being focused, but 3 times started to feel like I was ignored. I eventually needed to loudly say "stop" and wave my arms like s lunatic to get someone to address where our last dish was and why no one checked on us for almost half an hour. Summary: The kitchen was severely short-staffed for the crowd on a late Saturday night (8pm). The kitchen doesn't have quality control. Servers don't like being the face/person-you-complain to with a bad kitchen. Hayden made this a 3 star experience with his recovery and humanity. Prior to that, I was ready to write this place off as a 1 Star. Never again. This place is likely relegated to "beer + appetizer" going forward, and we'll see where we are in a few years. read more

One of my fav sports for happy hour on this side of town. Their regular menu is amazing and very fairly priced. Wings are one of my favorites along with their delicious waffle fries. The real show stopper for me though is their happy hour menu, select cocktails are only $6 and $2 off beers and wine. Great bar bite options. Ambiance is super chill, clean, and the outdoor seating facing the pond is beautiful. Service is always friendly and prompt. Not a good night as we ended up spending nearly 2 hours here and left without paying anything due to a terrible experience. The food took forever because they burned our pizza. Then, they undercooked the pepper jam burger and undercooked the 2nd pizza. The waitress disappeared for long stretches and I thought we were stuck there all night They did buy me a beer and did not charge us for dinner which was good because we barely ate anything anyway.
