Gorgeous location ! My favorite location yet . So much outdoor seating, and places to hang out and just have a drink. Our server was great. My friend and I sat there for quite awhile and took our time to order stuff , and we never felt rushed . We ordered the breakfast enchiladas, which were good. But we started with the spicy tuna appetizer (that I think is only at this location) , those were delicious! The Vig is one of my go to spots for Sunday brunch, mostly because of the patio. It is big, open, and just makes sitting outside on a Sunday feel like exactly where you want to be. If the weather is nice, it is a great place to hang out for a while. They have a solid food selection with decent portions. You can easily make a meal out of a few appetizers if that is your thing. The cinnamon roll is really good and definitely worth ordering for the table. The espresso martinis are priced like brunch drinks, which always helps. Overall it is just a great place to chill on a Sunday. Good vibe, good patio, solid food. Hard to complain about that. read more

They sat us quickly in their beautiful outdoor patio area, although at a 6 top (we're only 4 people) which I thought odd. We enjoyed their ROCC (cold brew), it did come in a can, it would have been nice poured into a glass before it came to the table. It did taste nice with a splash of cream and was super cold over ice. They also had a nice hibiscus soda that was refreshing and tart. We enjoyed the burger, which was well cooked and served with great toppings! The fries were crunchy, but I wish the truffle and Parmesan flavor was as a little stronger or plentiful. The food took a little longer than I expected to come out, but still in a timely manner (maybe 20-25 minutes). I ordered a lunch special that came with a soft drink. When I reminded the waitress, she got it for me right away! It would've been nice to not have to have reminded her, but I assume she was busy and just forgot. One of my favorite dishes in the valley is the pozole from The Vig! The broth is flavorful with lots of spices, and just a hint of heat to it. Lots of hominy, pork, and cabbage complement the entire dish. The location here has a huge outdoor patio so it's better to go in the cooler months. I recommend reservations even if you're going earlier in the evening unless you don't mind a lower outdoor table with Adirondack style chairs. read more

Unfortunately, after that service became slow. Since we had an event to go to after, I decided to order a "safe" option and went with the sauteed shrimp tacos with fries. The tacos overall were just okay, nothing impressive. The tortillas themselves were disappointing. The fries were good though, plentiful with the right amount of salt and not cold or soggy. What I like about this restaurant is how spacious the interior is and how the tables are spaced far apart from each other that you don't feel like you're unintentionally intruding on a neighboring table's conversation. read more

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We ordered drinks first, but they sat at the bar long enough for the ice to melt, leaving them watered down and the glasses warm. We sent them back, expecting fresh drinks, but after another 10 minutes they still hadn't been remade or brought to our table. The restaurant wasn't busy at the time, which made the lack of service even more frustrating. After waiting with no resolution, we decided to leave. I stopped by The Vig and tried their Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. I've always liked The Vig locations because the atmosphere is always great and the overall vibe makes for a really enjoyable meal and time. On this visit, service-wise, everyone was friendly and welcoming, but the attention was a bit infrequent. Refills didn't really exist and It actually took us about 15 extra minutes just to flag someone down to pay the bill, which was a little frustrating after an otherwise great experience. I still highly recommend any of The Vig locations otherwise and will definitely be back again. read more

This place is not improved and I have been coming here for many years. The ambience is great. I really do come for the great views of McDowell Mountain. The food is mediocre at best the french fries that I had this time around when coming in with for cocktails with my family were subpar some were undercooked somewhere overcooked. I really wish they would nail down their cooking. The bartender that served us was aloof and very bad at Service. We basically had to flag him down with a smoke grenade to get him do anything which shows he was arrogant and clearly not paying any attention to anything he was doing is only upside was that he knew how to make a decent old-fashioned cocktail which was very good. Other than that I say this place has a lot of work. It needs done. read more

The Vig has an amazing outdoor space. Top 5 of all the restaurants I've been to in North Scottsdale. The food is good, too but the service is typically pretty slow. The staff is attentive but the food usually takes a while to come out. I wouldn't come if you're in a hurry, but if you want a place to relax and take in the views and enjoy the weather. Server Ryan was wonderful, very sweet and warm, 5 star service! Manager was very sweet to help us adjust seating so our group felt more comfortable. Music was great. Menu seemed interesting though food was not as yyzu tasty at is looked. Turkey sandwich was just okay. Not enough tomato and avocado and the cheese was a bit bland. Seared ahi was warmer than expected and also average. Price points were too high in my opinion. I reeeeeally hate to rate so low because our server was super personable but service was incredibly slow.... from getting drink orders in to actually ordering entrees to forgetting non-alcoholic beverages completely. Thankfully no errors on any of the orders coming out for both food and drink. It was pretty breezy in shade on the patio but they did have patio blankets when we asked. There were sections of lounge seating in the sun and on the turf areas that seemed to be reserved for parties with children, which is a great idea letting kiddos move around. Overall, the food was just OK in flavor, temp, and texture - my food was cold and the Bloody Mary mix was not good at all. Three of us ordered one and didn't even finish them which is abnormal for us. Just flat, and tasteless and a bit thin/watery? Our starters were probably the bear part of everyone's meals - calamari and burrata I would come back for! The outdoor ambiance is definitely unique. We ended up here twice on a recent visit to phoenix. The first time for drinks and an appetizer. Vibe was excellent- great live music, tons of indoor and outdoor space, fun crowd and the drinks were delicious! We came back a second time for dinner after spending the day at WM open. I had the mac and cheese and it was really delicious, creamy, and rich. The service was good. The environment is really nice also

First time here today and it was because of a work lunch where there was 11 of us. We had to have 7 of us at one table and 4 of us at the next table over because they didn't have a large table but it is kind of a smaller place. I feel they could still have moved some tables together to get us all together, but oh well. The strawberry lemonade was a little bland for lemonade but it was still ok. The food was very good and comes out with a very nice presentation. I had the sautéed shrimp habanero tacos that were very good. All in all a nice little place that's worth the trip if you don't live in northeast Scottsdale and I would recommend it for sure. read more

Weekends add some brunch items like biscuits and gravy and chilaquiles. The Vig has six locations: McDowell Mountain, McCormick Ranch, Fillmore, Arcadia, North Central, and Park West. Each one has both beautiful indoor and beautiful outdoor spaces. It's a great spot to meet with friends, have a family meal, and even bring along your pup. I recently met with friends at the McDowell Mountain location. We went for brunch as soon as they opened at 10 on Sunday. It was peaceful with lovely views of McDowell Mountain. A solo musician sang nice lo-fi style hits and obliged is in leading happy birthday to our friend. Brunch with the girls calls for cocktails, of course, so I enjoyed an Old Fashioned. It was smooth and light and went nice with my breakfast Enchiladas. The Enchiladas were delicious with chicken, scrambled eggs, roasted corn, and poblano cream. Our server was sweet and fun. He joined in as we joked about the huge celery stalk in the Bloody Mary. It was a great start to Sunday and a nice end to the weekend. read more

Great setting and ambiance but the food quality has really gone down. The Chicken Sandwich was very ordinary. The chicken piece was so thick and not well done as requested. The entire burger with the chicken in the bun and the jam with brie and aioli just did not go together. They need to reconsider that recipe for sure. The pozole was also just all right and didn't have a wow factor. Server was sweet and did her best but she doesn't cook the food. Stopped in for dinner with my dad and fiance at around 5:45 on a Saturday evening. We did not have a reservation so we were told it would be about an hour wait or we could be seated in the lounge area immediately. We opted to sit in the lounge seating. The lounge area had big chairs with small round tables intended for drinks. We were able to use a second table from an unoccupied table so we had two tables for the three of us, which we thought was plenty of space for our food/drinks. The host(?) was very kind and offered to seat us at a regular table as one became available earlier than expected. We were fine with staying at the lounge seating under the string lights but we really appreciated the effort of offering to move us to a table! The atmosphere of this place is 5/5, especially with the awesome view of the McDowell Mountains at Sunset. Tuesdays and Saturdays they have live music highly recommend sitting out on the patio! Overall we enjoyed the food, however it felt it had been sitting awhile before it was brought out to us. The pastrami was a little cold and the fries did not taste fresh. A few weeks ago I was part of the Yelp Elite Brunch and Bubbles event here at the Vig McCormick and I had to come back for lunch with a friend. Jeff the GM was there and was super nice along with his staff. Jade was our waitress and she was amazing. I was here back when this location first opened; it was good to come back. We went on Saturday night around 6 PM. There was a live band and a great vibe. We sat outside on the patio. We did get a little bit chilly, but the waitress brought over a couple of heaters to accommodate. We had the queso and burrata. Both excellent choices for appetizers, finished them quickly. For dinner, we had the salmon, vig burger, prime rib, and the Thai noodles. The salmon was phenomenal, including the veggies underneath, and the flavor profile was perfect. The Thai noodles feedback from the table was also great. The prime rib came out cold. I asked them to send it back and they brought a new one that also came out lukewarm, but it had great flavor. I believe the Mac and cheese and the fries for the burger were not favored at the table. But, the mashed potatoes... OMG I could eat those all day long. Overall great atmosphere will be back to try a few different things on the menu. All of our drinks of choice were tasty as well! read more

I have been to their west valley location, it's beautiful as well but this patio is like being on a vacay here in AZ Three of us had the fish tacos, they were good. Their black beans, LOVE We ordered chips, salsa and guac - sooooo good. Service was good. The west valley location will make me chicken tacos as they have chicken on hand. The waitress said that the cook would not do that here and wouldn't ask. It was fine, forced me to order the fish tacos Hubby ordered a breakfast skillet and he didn't like it. This place was recommended to us by a guide at the Sonoran Desert Preserve. Super fast service! We ordered beers, two Vig salads and a calamari and shrimp app and they came out super quick. The salads were great with lots of goat cheese and almonds. The shrimp and calamari had a nice seasoning- a couple were over cooked but most were fine. Waitresses were great. Overall really nice place with a cool outdoor patio. Only downsides were that some parents were letting their kids run all over and one kid was injured by something in the landscaping, resulting in a bit of screaming. There was live music. The musician was good, but it was annoying loud. I went with my parents who are HOH. The peanut noodle dish entree was very good. I added chicken which was a nice addition. Rich and plentiful, it could have fed 2 or in my case, lunch. The cauliflower appetizer was the favorite thing I tried. Our waitress was not very attentive. Often we were ready to order and were waiting . The ambiance is on the darker side so definitely more of a date night vibe in my opinion . What i did like was the music was not Overpowering and I could actually have a conversation with my friend across the table .
