The oatmeal is lightly sweetened. If you want it sweeter, you can blend the strawberry coulis into the oatmeal. The Croissant Gourmand is an avocado toast but on a flaky, and buttery croissant. The Lobster Florentine has toasted, crispy hash browns underneath instead of the traditional English muffin. The chocolate mousse is light and creamy, a not too heavy way to finish the meal. If you are staying at The Fontainebleau, La Fontaine is a given for breakfast. When I walked in, there was a huge wait for breakfast. I would recommend making a reservation unless you can snag a space at the bar which is open seating. I had the pleasure of having their lobster benedict. It was very delicious. I loved the presentation of the sunny side egg juxtaposed with the lobster benedict portion. Also, I had some coffee which is definitely a great way to start off my morning. When I was seated at the bar, I could not help but start conversations with the people adjacent to me. I also noticed their dishes including an avocado toast and the Fontaine which was a spread of a typical American breakfast. Wow, what an incentive to come back. Pancakes: easily one of the best pancakes I've ever eaten (my colleague said it was the best he's ever eaten). The sides make it so good. So soft and fluffy without feeling too airy - packed with flavour. Only 28 dollars too. Lobster Florentine: really good. Lobster with hollandaise on a hashbrown. Lobster was a good size. I really enjoyed the restaurant but it does get busy so reservations are definitely recommended. Aside from that we ate there multiple days and never got tired of it. They, like many restaurants, don't do online reservations for solo diners, so I just reserved for 2 and it wasn't an issue. There weren't a lot of early bird diners the morning I went. They even have a $75 3-course tasting menu that is available at all hours--it looked very enticing and had some breakfast-y items on it, but it's a lot of food at 7 am. I ended up ordering 2 dishes (sweet and savory) and packed up the leftovers. I first got the L'Envie de Rose fruit-forward smoothie, which was delish. I knew I wanted to try the souffle pancakes, which I'd seen on social media, and I also got the La Parisienne omelette (ham and Emmental cheese). The pancakes were very tasty, 3 to an order, served with fresh berries, lemon curd, thyme whipped cream and syrup. The pancakes themselves may have had lemon zest, but the lemon curd was fab. The omelette also was fine, served with a parmesan sauce, some roasted cherry tomatoes and a hash brown cake. Omelettes do not come with toast. The space is drenched in soft light and pale, feminine tones, almost like a modern salon tucked inside a French château. My man's sandwich came slathered in the most incredible tomato marmalade, and our lemon dessert was bright, airy, and the perfect way to end a nearly flawless meal. A couple notes for the kitchen: my omelet was a touch firmer than ideal, and the BLT's bread was toasted past the point of comfort, making it much harder to be able to enjoy the sandwich. We've tried the escargot, burger, fruit plate, Cobb salad, and tarte flambee. The tarte flambee was delicious when we had it - flatbread with bacon, caramelized onion, and Gruyère cheese - yum! The burger is good - it's a burger. My friend had the Cobb salad and felt like it was way over salted - she had to send it back. The escargot was meh - a little bland. The fruit plate was too pricey for what it was - I've definitely had better. The bottomless drink options have shot up in price from the first time we went! They have a $60, $90, and $125 option, all of which are pretty expensive, even for Vegas standards. All the food came out pretty lukewarm. Omelette espagnole: It was good, I liked the piperade sauce it came with. Maine lobster roll: It was okay. It looks like a lot of lobster in the photo but it's really just sitting on top of the bread. It makes it kind of hard to eat. Steak and eggs: This dish was horrible. We asked for medium rare on the steak. It came out burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. We sent it back to be brought up to a higher temperature and they did. It's also unseasoned. I'm not sure if that's to be expected but it was frankly bland and just not that pleasant to eat. The fries were overcooked and stale. And yet somehow despite these two being overcooked, it was lukewarm. It's almost like I was eating someone's leftovers. I was really unhappy with this dish. This is right up there with Tableau for the best French-inspired brunch in Vegas. Nothing beats a good breakfast Manhattan. Their bourbon options aren't many, but if you know your barrels, you'll appreciate their selections. Oh, and their Bellini met my standards. My cappuccino was not hot either but excusable because of the milk. The green juice will probably not be ordered again because when asked to remove an ingredient the server said they couldn't because it was pre-prepared. Maybe we were expecting more of a cold-pressed green juice. The food was all presented so beautifully. The caviar bagel tower was impressive. Only wished the bagels were toasted slightly more. But how can you go wrong with caviar & the three different cream cheeses?! We added the seasonal salad to add some greens. Ours also had figs ^^ Ordered a glass of Veuve and the combo was quite delish. My husband had the omelette blanc d'oeuf which was excellent. The egg whites were so soft & light. One of the best dishes. The kids enjoyed the cheeseburger & a yaourt parfait to share. The waitress let us know we can order brunch or lunch so this combo worked! The granolas on the yaourt weren't as crunchy as expected but the taste of the strawberry compote with the pistachio puree added to the Greek yogurt was amazing. This brunch probably gave us the nicest surprise of our trip. We've stayed at Fontainebleau Las Vegas half a dozen times now and walked past La Fontaine dozens of times. To be honest, the view from outside just didn't grab me (it kinda looked like a jewelry store). The "Taste of the Fontainebleau" email advertising the prix fixe menu put it into my head (but still didn't get me in the door) but then the recommendation of one of the FBLV doormen (we were getting in a cab to head to Tableau over at the Wynn, and he said, "You know, you'd probably really like La Fontaine . . . .") finally got my wife and I to pay attention. You know what? Our man was not kidding: La Fontaine is great! When we actually entered the space, it felt light and airy and classy - but in no way formal or stuffy. There were people brunching with (well behaved) kids, work groups, couples, families on vacation . . . all spaced far enough apart that no one disturbed anyone else, all being helped by staffers swooping past in constant motion. We settled into an open bench table with a great view of the room and dug into the thoughtful menus. The food and cocktail selections were extensive enough to have something for everyone in every mood, but not overwhelming. Prices were as expected for an upscale room in a nice Vegas hotel - actually, maybe a little bit lower than expected. And the food and drinks turned out to be a whole lot more creatively detailed and assembled than anticipated. Textures and flavors almost danced together - familiar, but arranged in slightly different permutations that made the every bite just . . . unexpectedly interesting. And wonderful! Had the omelet l'espangnole (Spanish chorizo, feta and a tomato/onion jam, mounded with crispy potato twigs) and one of the better hash brown cakes of my life (Tableau had better watch their back - the crisp on these was remarkable - and they arrived with roasted sweet tomatoes on the vine as an accompaniment) and my wife had a Cobb salad with great chicken and a bleau cheese dressing that had more than a little nod to Green Goddess going on. Her Monnaie de Paris breakfast cocktail was unusual and delightfully refreshing (imagine a mint julep, but with Absinthe in place of the bourbon, lime juice and St. Germain in place of the sugar - tons of mint and crushed ice, of course). We arrived during brunch hours (11am-3pm) they offer a brunch menu and also have their entire menu open to enjoy if you aren't only looking for brunch which i thought was perfect. We ended up ordering the $65 per person brunch à la carte, giving us the option to chose between appetizers, entrées and deserts. We of course also had to order our wines to enjoy with our dishes! We had the prix fixe breakfast menu and started with escargot which came piping hot in butter with plenty of garlic and a side of toasted french bread and was a 5 out of 5.
