First off, I'm not a breakfast guy so I had no expectations. All I can say is wow! The service, ambiance and food were all exceptional! In fact, the blueberry danish/croissant is easily one of the top 10 things I've ever eaten! Hot, huge buttery and flaky crust with a flavorful blueberry compote on the inside. I will stay at this hotel again just for that! We also had perfect eggs Benedict and a huge fresh fruit platter with a great variety and all of it was perfectly ripe. Our server, Alfredo P, was on top of his game. The only criticism was weirdly enough, our table. Looking for a sit down restaurant that serves all 3 meals and conveniently located near the guest elevators especially if you are a hotel guest? The staff was friendly, professional, and the service was good from the moment we arrived until we left. The food was good, and I enjoyed my meal, but I have to be honest, it wasn't as special as I expected. Everything tasted fresh and was well prepared, but nothing really stood out or made me want to come back just for the food. I've had much better breakfast meals at other places. The portions were also smaller than I expected, especially considering the prices. It's definitely on the expensive side, so I was hoping for either larger portions or something more memorable. Located on the Second Floor near the Fitness Center, the restaurant is decorated in a pretty light pink decor. The restaurant gets fairly busy so it's best to make a reservation. The oatmeal is lightly sweetened. If you want it sweeter, you can blend the strawberry coulis into the oatmeal. The Croissant Gourmand is an avocado toast but on a flaky, and buttery croissant. The Lobster Florentine has toasted, crispy hash browns underneath instead of the traditional English muffin. The chocolate mousse is light and creamy, a not too heavy way to finish the meal. If you are staying at The Fontainebleau, La Fontaine is a given for breakfast. When I walked in, there was a huge wait for breakfast. I would recommend making a reservation unless you can snag a space at the bar which is open seating. I had the pleasure of having their lobster benedict. It was very delicious. I loved the presentation of the sunny side egg juxtaposed with the lobster benedict portion. Also, I had some coffee which is definitely a great way to start off my morning. When I was seated at the bar, I could not help but start conversations with the people adjacent to me. I don't usually try to repeat places even if I like them but made sure to come back on this trip for the pancakes. Food: Surprising value for being at the fontainbleu on the strip. Pancakes: easily one of the best pancakes I've ever eaten (my colleague said it was the best he's ever eaten). The sides make it so good. So soft and fluffy without feeling too airy - packed with flavour. Only 28 dollars too. Lobster Florentine: really good. Lobster with hollandaise on a hashbrown. Lobster was a good size. Hashbrowns was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Sauce was well done and the perfect consistency. Service: Quick and attentive. Main waiter was decent. Looking at past reviews, it looks like this breakfast/brunch/lunch spot can get pretty busy, so I reserved for their 7 am opening. They, like many restaurants, don't do online reservations for solo diners, so I just reserved for 2 and it wasn't an issue. There weren't a lot of early bird diners the morning I went. La Fontaine is a very beautiful restaurant on the 2nd level of the Fontainebleu, very elegant despite having no windows. The menu is French-ish. They even have a $75 3-course tasting menu that is available at all hours--it looked very enticing and had some breakfast-y items on it, but it's a lot of food at 7 am. I ended up ordering 2 dishes (sweet and savory) and packed up the leftovers. I first got the L'Envie de Rose fruit-forward smoothie, which was delish. I knew I wanted to try the souffle pancakes, which I'd seen on social media, and I also got the La Parisienne omelette (ham and Emmental cheese). The pancakes were very tasty, 3 to an order, served with fresh berries, lemon curd, thyme whipped cream and syrup. The pancakes themselves may have had lemon zest, but the lemon curd was fab. The omelette also was fine, served with a parmesan sauce, some roasted cherry tomatoes and a hash brown cake. Omelettes do not come with toast. We booked FontaineBleau through Amex FHR. La Fontaine is one of the restaurants where you can use the daily breakfast credit. I really enjoyed the restaurant but it does get busy so reservations are definitely recommended. Aside from that we ate there multiple days and never got tired of it. They have fresh juices, regular breakfast items as well as some unique options. I had the coq au vin from the brunch menu which was good. My wife and I visited La Fontaine because we had heard about their fabulous pancakes. They completely lived up to the reputation. The service was outstanding. The coffee was perfect. The only downside of the entire meal was my wife ordered a Diet Coke and they brought out an 8 ounce bottle. This was of course not refillable. The price was $7.00. We've been to brunch at La Fontaine twice now, and I feel like it's definitely overpriced! The restaurant itself is very light and airy - perfect for brunch. The food can be hit or miss. We've tried the escargot, burger, fruit plate, Cobb salad, and tarte flambee. The tarte flambee was delicious when we had it - flatbread with bacon, caramelized onion, and Gruyère cheese - yum! The burger is good - it's a burger. My friend had the Cobb salad and felt like it was way over salted - she had to send it back. The escargot was meh - a little bland. The fruit plate was too pricey for what it was - I've definitely had better. The bottomless drink options have shot up in price from the first time we went! They have a $60, $90, and $125 option, all of which are pretty expensive, even for Vegas standards. I'm always weary of high end cafe and brunch spots in Las Vegas. However, a friend ate here before and recommended us to try it together when we were staying at Fontainebleau. Everything was an exquisite dining experience. White tablecloth, exceptional service and professional servers blew away all my expectations. Their menu has a good selections of haute fare but also mainstays such as American breakfast and pastries. Prices was not cheap but not much higher than anything else on the strip. This is one of my favorite brunch spots to visit in Las Vegas. I love how cute the interior is and they have a little chair for your purse. This is the first restaurant I have ever experienced that had a chair for your purse. Besides that everything we have had here was top-tier aside from the desserts. I have been here possibly about six times in the last few months and I always get the French toast. I feel like the French toast has a beautiful caramel flavor and the pecans compliment the dish very well although I do remember it came with three pieces of French toast and they skimped out and gave two last time. I don't know if it's a cost thing because our recall it being a little too much food and then the last time I was here I ate all of it I also had the tomato Burrata salad once, but they took it off the menu as it was probably seasonal. Heirloom tomatoes are always good and the continental breakfast as well. One of my favorite dishes to get here are the pastry basket. The pastries are some of my favorites and you can get them downstairs at chezbon but I believe the price is better here. It looks like a lot of lobster in the photo but it's really just sitting on top of the bread. It makes it kind of hard to eat. Steak and eggs: This dish was horrible. We asked for medium rare on the steak. It came out burnt on the outside, raw on the inside. We sent it back to be brought up to a higher temperature and they did. It's also unseasoned. I'm not sure if that's to be expected but it was frankly bland and just not that pleasant to eat. The fries were overcooked and stale. And yet somehow despite these two being overcooked, it was lukewarm. It's almost like I was eating someone's leftovers. I was really unhappy with this dish. I would say that this place is not worth it for the price but honestly even if it was cheaper I wouldn't come here again. read more

This is right up there with Tableau for the best French-inspired brunch in Vegas. Nothing beats a good breakfast Manhattan. Their bourbon options aren't many, but if you know your barrels, you'll appreciate their selections. Oh, and their Bellini met my standards. As for the meal, I had their lobster Benedict, which was well-balanced, but the lobster was a little overcooked. Overcooking lobster makes it rubbery. I wouldn't say it made it unbearable, but it would have been enjoyed more if they had taken it off the heat a little sooner. The pain perdu wrapped my meal. The nuttiness gave it a natural flavor I liked, and the bartender offered me a half order, which I was thankful for because a full order at that point would have been overkill.
