After a day of hiking in Red Rock Canyon, we decided to see a show at the Bellagio and need to have dinner first. It was 4pm, so we need a reservation for 7pm, I found on place with a 7pm reservation and booked it... that was Le Cirque. I did not know one thing about this restaurant. I only have to say... what a discovery. We walked in from the ringing noise of the casino to a beautiful quiet oasis. Greeted by a hostesses as if we had been there every weekend for 50 years, and the service got even better from there. The decor is quite nice, with the perfect use of texture to limit any floating conversation. I could actually have a conversation with my wife in my 'inside' voice. The wine list is great, we had a nice rose and burgundy, reminisent of our honeymoon in France. We selected the 4 course dinner. I am a vegetarian, and am use to limited selections at fine restaurants, however, the 4 course meal was one great dish after another. My wife loved every one of her dishes as well, and speaking of dishes, the china with the Curious George was so special since we both hold that little ape close to our hearts. Le Cirque has a storied past that began in New York in 1974 when Sirio Maccioni first opened the restaurant. He and the restaurant became stars, attracting accolades and a celebrity clientele. The restaurant had a series of chefs who themselves went on to fame and glory, Daniel Boulud and Geoffrey Zakarian among them. Le Cirque went through 3 transformations/locations in New York. I recall dining at the second iteration, called Le Cirque 2000, in the New York Palace Hotel (now the Lotte New York Palace) in the late 1990's. Le Cirque Las Vegas opened in 1998 when Steve Wynn opened the Bellagio; it's one of 3 legacy restaurants that remain from that time. Jasmine and Prime Steakhouse are the other two. Both Le Cirque 2000 and the Vegas restaurant were designed by Adam Tihany in a whimsical circus-like theme. The Vegas dining room is like being in a circus tent, with playful monkeys all around. The Bellagio has a number of fancy restaurants and at least one other (Michael Mina) with a tasting menu. Le Cirque is iconic, classic French, with a four-course and eight-course tasting menu option. The maitre d' also mentioned a 3-course menu, and there were 3 a la carte selections. Since the 4-course menu had many options that had cost supplements, I opted for the 8-course menu, which had no supplements. I am having a dry January, so I passed on the wine pairing. The mocktail I had, Soleil Tropical, was fruit-forward and delish. It had an edible straw. Here's what the 8-course menu included: Bread service--3 types of bread Amuse bouche: a mini tarte flambee with onions 1) potato galette with smoked salmon and caviar 2) pan-roasted frog legs 3) Le Cirque "Black Tie"--scallop with black truffle and spinach. An OG dish 4) cured and steamed halibut 5) roasted duck with crispy rice and citrus 6) Wagyu filet mignon with potato puree 7) carrot cake pop 8) chocolate ball with vanilla ice cream enclosed within. The ball is melted with a chocolate sauce. A birdcage filled with 6 mignardises I found every dish delicious, with the frog legs, scallop and duck being my faves. Service of course was outstanding, friendly and attentive. The maitre d' was especially outgoing. He brought a copy of the Le Cirque cookbook for me to look at; the book also is a document of Le Cirque's history. He escorted me out and gave me (and most likely all diners) some exquisitely boxed chocolates. Overall a memorable and tasty dining experience. It's definitely on the pricey side; the 8-course menu is more expensive than the Chef's Tasting menu (also 8 courses) at 3 Michelin-starred Le Bernardin in New York! But Vegas is a city of indulgences, and this is one. read more

But the decorations and layout of the restaurant was pretty cool. Yes the food was elegant and fantastically flavored with good options but this just wasn't my cup of tea as it was small plates, super expensive and hard to understand the menu as it was in French. Came to Le Cirque to celebrate my birthday at Bellagio, and the experience did not disappoint! The interior is fun and beautifully decorated, with very unique on theme paintings and a beautifully draped and lit ceiling which looks more pastel and lovely in person. We ordered two different courses, the 4 course and the 8 course tasting menu. Between us the 12+ dishes were each beautifully presented and tasted fresh, delicate, and with wonderfully balanced flavors. Even dishes like foie gras while heavy and rich, were well balanced so it was never too heavy with each bite. I decided to change my dessert choice last minute to the dragonfruit sorbet and our server accommodated with no problem. It was so beautifully presented and delicious, so worth it! Our server, Martin said he had been at Le Cirque for over 30 years and truly did everything to make the night feel special for us! We had seating by the windows where we could see the Bellagio Fountain show every half hour, and Matteo presented us with some extra desserts and memorable gift boxes filled with chocolates and jellies which was a lovely touch. Finally, as we left the staff helped us take pictures in the beautiful restaurant setting. Overall, I'm so glad I chose to come here over other well known options like Guy Savoy! Truly felt the staff cared and made the experience such a special one, each dish was beautifully crafted with carefully balanced flavors, and I adored the ambiance of the restaurant as it was so fun and unique with a clear circus theme from the glass candle to the design of the dishes. And yes, the food and the ambiance with comfortable chairs and and view through the windows onto the lighted water games were fabulous but really the kudos go to the staff! Everyone was knowledgeable, polite, humorous and hence fun to interact with. What got our admiration though was that they silently removed our wine glasses because they had observed that we had ordered a mocktail rather than cocktail while waiting for the table. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. My wife and I regularly dine at high-end restaurants and are happy to pay for great food and service. Unfortunately, our New Year's Eve dinner at Le Cirque fell far short -- especially for the high price point. The restaurant did not offer the 4-course menu advertised on its website, instead serving a fixed NYE menu that wasn't disclosed ahead of time. Before being seated, we were asked to wait at the bar and were ignored for ~20 minutes without being offered a drink, until someone finally noticed. The food was underwhelming throughout. The smoked salmon and caviar was very basic, the chicken risotto was overcooked and had to be sent back, and the replacement was no better. The steak was fine, and dessert was forgettable -- not what you expect from Le Cirque. To make matters worse, my wife had an allergic reaction to the bleach used in the tablecloths, forcing us to move to the bar near the end of the meal. This was stressful, bizarre, and something that has never happened to us before at any restaurant. While the hostess eventually apologized, it came after we had already paid. No proactive recovery, no meaningful acknowledgment, no attempt to make things right. For the price and reputation, this experience was unacceptable. We left feeling disappointed and misled, and would not return -- especially for a special occasion. read more

This may be one of my favorite culinary experiences. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We came here for dinner and were greeted promptly, waited at the bar for drinks but were immediately seated. We chose the 8 course tasting menu and added on the soufflé and cocktails. We chose to get the foie gras seared (versus terrine) which I much prefer the seared and this was probably my favorite dish. The presentation for the scallop ceviche and chocolate sphere dessert were also impressive. The service was perfect, food came out perfectly timed from finishing our previous courses and the service was present without being over bearing. I'm always leery of going to "nice" restaurants in Vegas - several times I've been burned by big name chefs opening a place in one of the casinos and then leaving it to produce mediocre food. The only remaining outpost of what was once the most-celebrated of New York City's fine dining establishments overlooks the Bellagio fountains. The room is circus themed, but the food is anything but. A series of excellent dishes are presented, bit by bit, with timing aware of any potential shows you may have. Dietary accommodations are handled well. So while I enjoyed the experience, it's been a couple of weeks and I can't remember anything particularly outstanding that I ate. This is our second visit to Le Cirque. It doesn't fail to impress. We opted for the 4 course with an additional order of the Japanese Wagyu. Everything was good from beginning to end. My favorite would have to be the Rossini. For 3 people, 2 glasses of Riesling, and a mocktail, the overall amount comes to about $1300 (with tip). Next time I may try their seasonal mocktail, the sip I had was pretty good (it was made with mangoes). read more

The Frog legs came with a heavenly sauce and the entrees of fish and beef were perfection. The desserts of soufflé and the chocolate sphere were exquisite and delicious. Excellence doesn't come cheap, our meal and wine was over $400 each, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for very much the case here. Le Cirque has been a Bellagio fixture since the resort debuted in 1998. For Vegas that's like dog years with the city constantly closing great places for new ones to dazzle everyone. Still very popular and for good reasons. My man brought me here for my birthday. He requested a table with a view of the fountains and to my surprise we were sat at one of them. These types of tables aren't easy to acquire if you aren't a high roller or celebrity so it's always lovely to be able to enjoy them as a nobody. As soon as you walk in you'll find yourself under a boujee and very colorful circus tent. Everything is playful especially the monkey tableware. With Five Diamonds from Forbes, AAA, and a Michelin Star service is flawless and attentive. Each dish is a work of art. Each presentation is thoughtful. The food is delicious. The bread service alone is special with unique carbs such as coffee bread all with rich European butter. A few standouts that still live in my mind ~ braised veal cheek that melts in your mouth, perfectly sautéed and tender Hokkaido scallops, unique and vibrant fava bean and mint risotto that is ultra creamy and decadent, and of course you have to leave room for dessert. The grand Marnier soufflé is cloud-like making it a very light dessert after enjoying so many different courses. As if that wasn't enough the restaurant sends out complimentary sweets, artisan chocolate, and a note for your special occasions. Very nice touches and thank you. So are places like this worth it? Yes and yes! You live once so make life special, delicious, and surround yourself with beauty especially for celebrations. This will be one of those experiences you'll remember forever. read more

From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond--especially our waiter, who made thoughtful and seamless accommodations for my pregnant wife without us even having to say a word. That kind of attentiveness is rare, and it set the tone for an unforgettable evening. He surprised us with a variety of complimentary dessert tastings, each one better than the last, and his personable, genuine service made us feel completely taken care of. As for the food--unreal. Shot out to Javier and Martin who consistently checked on our table to see if we needed anything and made sure our glasses were full. So professional and attentive. The place itself was unique and had a great view of the cvs sign and bellagio water show. Food was so amazing and very flavorful. Everything was high quality and their cocktails were delicious. Well, this was a first for me! Not the Michelin star, not just the prices...but THE ADD-ONS are CRAZY! My husband selected this restaurant...of course he did. LOL The decor is really interesting. It is like a vintage circus with fabric-draped ceilings, like a circus tent. Their dinnerware is really fun, and the wallpaper is fitting. The menu is a thing of beauty...heavy, with a monkey swinging emblem on the front. The menu has three sections. A chef's tasting menu which was 8 courses, a 4-course menu option at $250 per person, and an ala carte section in the menu. We decided on the 4-course menu. In each section, you could select out of 2 or 3 choices, BUT, and this is a VERY LARGE BUT, some of those selections included an ADDITIONAL SURCHARGE! WHAT? I still had to pay more after selecting a $250 per person menu? MENU OPTIONS -First Course: Choice of Lobster salad ($60 extra) or Summer salad. We got one of each. -Second course: Fois Gras de Canard or Black Truffle Risotto ($55 extra). We got one of each. -Third course: Wagyu Striploin ($70 extra), Brittany Loup de Mer (the waiter really talked this fish dish up), and California Rabbit (I love rabbit). We chose fish and rabbit dishes. -Fourth course: Grand Marnier Souffle ($15 extra), Chocolate Ball, and Vanilla Mille Feuille. We did not choose the souffle. We tend to score our meals with 1-10, with 10 being the best. DRINKS h ordered drinks. From the cocktail menu, Curious George ($22) and I didn't see anything interesting, so I got my usual Amaretto Sour ($22). My drink was DELICIOUS! One of the best I've ever had, a definite 10. It was different than what I normally receive. It had such a rich, smooth taste. I told hubby they must have used top shelf liquor. On our check, it says Amaro Nonino, so I will request this specific digestif in the future. Prior to receiving our dinner, the support staff brought around various bread options to select. We had a complementary Amuse-bouche appetizer, comprised of flaky pastry with creme fraiche, caviar, and salmon. It was delicious. One of the bread choices was a truffle roll. It was just okay to me, but husband liked it. OUR FOOD SALADS - Course 1 - The Lobster salad had a mixed lobster salad with whole sliced lobster on top. Hubby liked it (9). I thought it was just okay (6.5), because I didn't particularly like the salad seasoning flavors. My Summer Salad made me a little leery after hearing another waiter tell the table next to us what was in it, e.g. asparagus, maybe squash (basically items that were not printed on the menu). To my surprise, this salad was wonderful. It did have all the extra ingredients he mentioned, but the blend of the vegetables, dressing, ham and caviar, was almost perfect. It tasted clean and fresh, like summer. I'd give it a 9.5. Course 2 - I'm not a Fois gras fan, so I didn't taste it. Hubby liked- 8. I really liked the Black Truffle Risotto; it was creamy, and the truffle actually did compliment the dish. Portion was too small for there to be an upcharge - 8.5. Course 3 - Rabbit was okay. My mom used to cook rabbit that my dad shot during hunting. She'd make it with gravy and the meat was always tender. This dish was like a pulled pork sandwich in which the rabbit was kind of shredded, which also made it a little dry. I was a little disappointed with this dish. I would give it a 6.75. My husband's fish dish was really delicious, and we can see why the waiter recommended it. We both gave it a 9. Course 4 - The chocolate Ball was a dessert that had warmed chocolate poured over the ball, which then melted and "opened up" the dessert. Very pretty - 8 for taste. My Mille Feuille was delicious. It had various textures - 9. I was disappointed I was too full to eat it all. Our total bill was $714.19, after the $131.80 gratuity, the total was $845.99. Overall, this was a different type of experience, which I am fine with doing only once. Knowing my husband though, it probably won't be the last. I need to also commend the wait staff. All were excellent, friendly, and helpful. Just what I would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. read more
