Did not experience the warm hospitality everyone seems to be raving about! Reserved a table for 7pm. We're seated promptly, and even given a small appetizer on the house... so far so good. However - by 730, we had not yet ordered food or drinks, despite having indicated our readiness to the proprietor and the server multiple times. We were traveling with a baby, so part of the reason we reserved an early (by Roman standards) dinner was so he wouldn't get too tired. On our last attempt to order, we told the proprietor as much. No response. We left just after 730 without ordering as it was clear that dinner was going to take way too long. The proprietor shouted after us that we should go to McDonald's instead. I was in Rome for 4 days and out of all the restaurants I tried this was by far my favorite. I ordered the Fettuccine and it was delicious. Others in my group of 6 ordered the lasagna, spaghetti and pizza and everyone was very happy with their food. The owner was even kind enough to bring in a free appetizer which was bread with tomato and he put our desserts on the house. The tiramisu is a must try btw. read more

This is my first restaurant in Rome - we found this place while wondering the streets for a restaurant that was open at around 5:30/6pm (many restuarants don't open for dinner until 6:30 or 7:00). This place is very casual with walls cluttered with graffiti and writing. It is a small local restaurnat with about a dozen tables. We ordered pizza and lamb and overall dinner was good. My wife really enjoyed the lamb while I thought it was OK - nothing spectacular. My pizza was good but not over the top good. What I did enjoy was the service. Our server was very attentive to our needs and we were treated very well which was very nice given it was our first night in Rome. The owner walked around the restaurant constantly to ensure everything was going well and that the customers were all taken care of. Yelp listing at the time stated that the restaurant had limited hours and when I pointed this out to the owner, he corrected me to say that this place is open from about noon to midnight every day. All in all, I had a great experience here - just love the casual, local vibe of a family run restaurant. We finished off the night with home made tiramisu and it was good though not the best I have had. In addition to service, the other great thing about this place is that the prices are very reasonable. A dinner for two can easily cost less than 30 Euros and for 40 to 50 Euros, you will be eating extremely well here. For value, this place is the best I have seen in Rome (review written after my Rome trip). Had my stay in Rome been longer, I would have definitely come back and intend to come back on my next trip. read more

My family and I stopped by at this restaurant. The experience was like you being a part of the owners family and served a delicious meal. We ordered pizza and spaghetti and both were delicious. Not only was the food we ordered fantastic, but also the food we were served we didn't even order. First we were served bruschetta and then more bread and other delicious sides. When we were done with dinner and the server asked if we wanted we said no, but they called our bluff and gave us some homemade tiramisu also on the house which was super yummy. This was our first full course meal in Roma and was just about perfect. Very friendly, helpful staff and great food. The house wine was 6 euro and was a "jug" and took us 1 1/2 hrs to finish off. After an extensive search for delicious food while in Rome, we finally found this place on our last evening in the city, and it was worth the wait. The owner warmly welcomed us and immediately brought out a lovely appetizer of warm bread and prosciutto. We also enjoyed a fresh salad, which was perfect to split between two people. Our food was out-of-this-world, authentic, homemade Italian. The gnocchi pesto was especially outstanding. While the classic pizza was not the best we've had in Italy, it was still fresh and filling. Even though we were stuffed from the large portions, the owner treated us to an incredible piece of tiramisu, which was the perfect way to end our great meal. Had two nights in Rome. Ate here the first night and absolutely loved it. All the other positive reviews were spot on. Came back the second night with friends and they loved it too. If I had family in Rome, I imagine I would be treated like I was here. All the appetizers we tried can be split between 2 or 3. All the other courses we had tasted great. Both times we were there, we ordered a pasta dish and a meat main dish and shared. And the prices CANNOT be beat. Read the other positive reviews. Wasn't expecting to stay in Rome an extra day and stumbled upon this place after looking for a place for dinner that you didn't necessarily need a reservation to. 100% recommend and so happy we found this place. The staff is super attentive and great with recommending dishes to you. The food is super authentic too. It's basically a small family owned restaurant. Where to start. We came here on our first night here in Rome. The place is small yet very cozy. The owner is very nice and friendly. There were writings on the wall which makes it different. Food: We had the House appetizer- Mozzarella was very delicious!! I had the oxtail Stew and loved it. My sister ordered the ravioli with Walnut Sauce and it was very good! After a disappointing first dinner in Rome, we stumbled upon this place for lunch. We were given a complimentary appetizer (a mixed plate of things, all delicious) and our food (gorgonzola spaghetti and risotto) was tasty and had great portions. Went to La Forchetta D' Oro tonight (19 May 2022). A horrible experience. We arrived and were kept waiting at least 20 minutes before the waiter even came to our table. It wasn't busy as there were only 2 tables with customers when we got there. But, he was busy talking to a lady at the restaurant. We finally placed our order and received the soup. The soup was finished and we waited and waited for the main course. Two other tables who came in after us waited also... we waited because the waiter was outside WASHING THE CAR of the lady he was talking to earlier. One customer got up and walked out. We should have done the same. After washing the car the waiter continued serving food, handling silverware, etc without even washing his hands. Nasty stuff. The experience was not good. To top it all off, we were unable to pay using a credit card despite seeing someone do it when we first got there. Cash only he said. A handy way to avoid paying taxes... so Italian. We came here based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. I had spaghetti carbonara and my partner had the grilled prawns and then another pasta and everything was fresh, extremely tasty, and most of all well priced. We sat out the front and although there is not too much to see it was a beautiful warm night, and a nice quite area. Wait staff were very attentive and polite. We also got a bottle of wine and complementary bruschetta, which was delicious! We then got the mixed gelato for desert which if course was great. To top things off everything only came to 50€! Only downside was the menus are a bit warn and sticky as was the table cloth, but nothing to be too concerned about. Will definitely be frequenting this lovely restaurant again. read more

The place is small and very busy. The guy who runs it is the nicest !! He kept giving us free appetizers and amazing meatballs.
