This is one of my favorite places for breakfast! I live in Chandler and the Commuter Sandwich and coffee are well worth the drive! I get mine with bacon and avocado - I add pepper and it is yummy and filling. Also they have unlimited coffee. LGO makes their own English Muffins...you can even buy packages to take home. La Grande Orange is a cool cafe/ grocery store/ coffee house/ pizzeria/ gelato bar. It's a bit overwhelming on your first visit, trying to figure out where to go for what, and it gets a bit crowded and hectic. I sort of just picked a line and lucked upon the right one. I got the Spicy Chickpea Lettuce Wraps, which you can order from the menu or pick up from their grab-and-go cold case, which is what I did. (Cuts down on wait time.) Comes with 2 large iceberg lettuce cuffs, topped with their spicy chickpeas and avocado slices. These lettuce wraps are SO yummy and perfectly spicy. Mine came with a fresh pineapple wedge; perfect for cleansing the palate. A nice, light, healthy, and filling option. There was a large dessert case, but there was only 1 vegan option: an apple pie cookie. I started to pass (I had my heart set on a cupcake), but an employee convinced me to try one. Great suggestion! It was one of the most delicious cookies that I have ever tasted. It was perfectly soft and chewy. An amazing treat! The items in the grab-n-go section are labeled with the ingredients. The parking situation is pretty insane. They do offer complimentary valet parking (which I did not want to do), and there is another spill-over lot about a block north of the building. I chose the later and walked back to the cafe. i didn't check out their groceries, pizzeria, or gelato bar, so I cannot comment on that. However, per their menu, most pizzas can be made vegan. I would certainly return to see what other vegan desserts they have, and to get more of those yummilicious vegan apple pie cookies. read more

This place is awesome! It reminds me of what a local cafe x Whole Foods x gift shop back home would be like if they melded and this was the end product. My mother and I were looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast and LGO was actually recommended by a fellow Arizonian. Plus, this place has rave reviews about pizza and I am all about that! Unfortunately, they don't do pizza until later in the day so we decided on some French pancakes, fresh juice and I got the cucumber salad. -Cucumber salad was refreshing, light and so yummy! Really simple but fresh ingredients made for a great, light meal. Comes with cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, olives, avocado, chives, goat cheese and a lemon/black pepper dressing. -The juices were pulp filled and fresh! -The french pancakes were lovely, you get about 4 crepes filled with creme fraiche, honey and topped with strawberries that are lightly sweetened. This place has souvenirs, wine selection, pre-made salads, juices, pastries/desserts, pizzas, gelato, coffee ... literally if I keep going I'm going to make this my priority destination once I'm back in Phoenix. Such a cute spot to read the paper, eat good food, share a communal table with friends and enjoy the free AC. The workers were nice and cleared plates quickly. Super adorable when you first walk in - it's bustling and humming in the best way. The girl went crazy for all their cute little knickknacks and things. All the employees were super nice and friendly. Their hot chocolate was solid - not too sweet or chocolatey, very smooth; their honey latte was one of the best she's ever had - "def order it cold because the honey swirls at the bottom and you get some with every sip instead of the honey dissolving into the whole drink"; and the French pancakes were incredible - perfect amount of crispy and sweet. read more

This place has the cutest and quirkest little items for sale, a great place to shop for a gift for a mom, sister, or friend! I always love the selection of cards they have too. On top of that, their bakery case is AMAZING. I'm not a huge fan of their cookies (I like mine to be more moist and chewy, theirs tend to be drier and crumblier), but I like their tres leches cake and the old-timer cupcake (the one that looks like a big Hostess cupcake). Their gelato is really good too and made in-house with no preservatives or anything weird like that. My favorite flavor is the peach, although the mint is also interesting. Just be forewarned that it's REALLY minty, like really really really minty with actual chunks of mint leaves in it. might be good to eat on a date so you can have super fresh breath for that goodnight smooch! haha! The store is filled to the w brim with useless, trashy goodies. There's a whole toy section that you have to do yoga to get around to even see the drink refrigerators. I am utterly disappointed and quite frankly disgusted that this place calls itself a "market." It's a glorified gift shop at best and a cheap toy store at worst. I was hoping for some fresh baked goods, curated local food options, and local art. While these items were technically in the store, it was overwhelming and impossible to navigate to them in between all the trash. Go down to Tucson for markets that actually have quality and aesthetics, because you won't find them in Phoenix. read more

If you're looking for a diverse menu and fun food options, then this is the place for you. Every item on the menu is different and each has its own unique twist. Everyone is very pleasant and the food is highly munchable, plus the restaurant doubles as a grocery and souvenir store, with fun and colorful shirts, mugs, and many other treasures. I must say I am very disappointed with LGO. Because of the Pandemic, you have to order food in the grocery part, and then a server will serve you. My burger was raw in the middle, I ordered it MR. I have been here many, many times and agree that peak hours might not be the time to come if you are in a hurry or don't want to stalk someone to find a table, but it is the perfect place to come if you come during off hours or want to people watch. My main complaint was by the time I pick up my food and get settled at my table, they were cold or warm at best. My bf came in from North Carolina for a visit and she wanted to revisit her fave bfast spot so we made it up to LGO around 9:30 on a Monday. To my pleasant surprise they had changed their plasti-ware/plate service to the real thing! Oh... how I love an unexpected surprise especially of the non-plastic nature. We ordered French Pancakes, Croque Madame, Pumpkin/choco muffin, Almond croissant and coffee. All yummy and perfectly hot for our dining pleasure. As always, browsing through their supply of fun and funky stuff in the "maybe I can't live without this trinket" section leaves you wanting to buy that special something for yourself. I wonder if I can ever get past this evil LGO marketing technique. So.... come in and enjoy during off hours and miss the table stalking and parking nightmare. Got there around 11am on a weekday, easy parking in the back. We had the steel-cut oatmeal and stacked turkey sandwich. The oatmeal was fine, but skimpy on the flaxseed. I asked for the brown sugar on the side. The turkey sandwich comes with avocado, tomatoes, lettuce, and havarti cheese. Good, but nothing spectacular. It came with a piece of fruit. Probably should have ordered one of the infamous English muffins. The freshly squeezed orange juice was awesome though. Cute place, but definitely could be more organized. Parking is really tight. If you order ahead you can pick up curbside, and they have spots right out front. Yesterday I ran in to grab one of my favorites on their menu the heirloom brown rice bowl. It's very flavorful when you add the harissa. Just add it a little at a time because it's spicy. I like parking and going into the store because they have lots of cute stuff. The food is great from breakfast to dinner, but it is a little expensive. They also have cute little trinkets and gifts to shop for, but they are extremely overpriced. The one thing that they need to address is the excessive amount of curbside pick-up parking spots. The parking lot is very tiny and it is always near impossible to find a parking spot, and they are using FIVE of those spots for curbside pick-up orders only. That is too many, considering that this place is always busy and their parking lot is way too small for the amount of business it gets. Even if they brought it down to 3 curbside pick-up spots, that would help the congestion of cars always trolling the lot looking for a spot. I live in the neighborhood so I walk there whenever I can, but the times that I have driven, I have never found a parking spot. There have been times where I've given up and just gone to a different restaurant because of this. That's why I only gave it 3 stars. read more

Their food is amazing but their staff is constantly rotating through new employees because they over work them in an 8 hour day with no breaks to have lunch or barely use the bathroom and give them little to no training and sink or swim attitude! Lack of management shows in this overpriced grocery/pizzeria. Employees do not know what is on their own menu and they sit back and chat while a line forms in front of them. I consider it insulting to the customer/customer experience. I have witnessed management do nothing while their employees do everything except the job they are paid to do. I have given this place a few chances over the summer and nothing has changed. Employee training needs to be taken more seriously or a change in leadership is necessary for this place to run smoothly. I will not be back. LGO is a poorly managed/trained set of employees that would rather gossip than help the customers trying to spend money. Good luck to the few employees who work hard. read more

La Grande has been a staple in my family for years! The first thing I tried was the maple bacon. Ok, this was 10 years ago before I became a vegetarian. I suspect its still delicious. The English muffins they sell in-house are delicious and rival Thomas'.. made fresh every day, you should grab some while admiring their extensive variety of baked goods. Try the chocolate chip banana bread, I promise you'll gain 15 pounds; but it will be worth it. The red velvet cake is out of this world. My husband and I regularly indulge in a slice. Even though their employee turnover seems continuous, everyone that's helped us has been SUPER nice, carrying a bright smiles on their faces. I don't eat inside very often, but I'll tell you there are a lot of things to look at while waiting for your food. Greeting cards, facemasks, knickknacks, candles, anything you can think of! Parking comes at a premium maybe 25 actual parking spaces. Side-note, a lot of people use the to go order slips for regular parking spaces, so watch out!
