I really like this place. They have great food and great coffee, albeit over priced. So why only three stars? The cleanliness or lack of. I go in almost every morning within a few minutes of opening. EVERY table in the dining area is dirty. Every. Single. One. And don't get me started on the chairs. My only thought is that they have to not clean the tables at night for them to be that dirty. I've actually had two conversations with two other customers in the morning trying to find a clean table and marveling at how impossible that is. I Update: nothing has changed as far as the place being cleaned at night. I was able to send a message to management, I saw someone cleaning tables one morning, but it's gone back to dirty tables everywhere at 6:30 am. Also, there are signs on EVERY door about not bringing dogs in the place but there is one guy who brings his dog inside every time I see him. Why does he get to? Always love coming here. It's been so consistent for years. I have been for the wood fire pizza in the evenings( after 4 pm) and for breakfast(until 5pm everyday). If you are looking for a quick fix they have huge pre made salads, sushi, and other things to take and go. If you have time to order and wait their menu selection of breakfast and lunch sandwiches is always a good choice. My GO TO is the commuter sand-which with Bacon and Avocado on their English muffin. So good! Also, I was never into crepes but their French pancakes with strawberries and creme and honey are a yummy treat! Stay away from the glass case at the front of the store if you want to keep your jeans lose! So many desert options including cookies, canes, pies, muffins, bars, and macaroons. I enjoyed eating at La Grande Orange with my siblings during the Christmas holiday. We entered through the kitchen which I thought was really cool. I though I had made a mistake, but the kitchen staff said I was going through the right way. They were super friendly and welcoming. We ordered our food and then found our own seats. We picked up some gelato and ate that before our food came. Their gelato is delicious! I ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was so good. One of my favorite weekend hangout spots! The mood is just right. It's a hip and trendy place with a touch of spirituality and wellness vibe. Whether you are looking to chill with your Kindle or relax with a cup of latte by yourself or with a crowd, this place is set up just perfect for individuals and groups. They have limited parking in their small lot considering how crowded this place can get, but you can park a block away and walk over. Both times I've been here I haven't had any issues luckily and always at the front of the line when I arrive. But I've been told by regulars of the parking situation. Great music, ambience is just perfect (lively, great dark flooring), high quality merchandise/ products with better ingredients than most places and well packaged, even their branded bags are well made and designed, cute knick knacks! Their staff is friendly. My cashier didn't rush me at all and offered up great suggestions my second time here. I ordered one of their sandwiches the first time I was here after my hike at Camelback mountain. It's close by and great stop on the way back from the hike. They have a great selection of teas. I hear their berry hibiscus tea is great. Their pizza is amazing! My friend says their sourdough crust is to die for! Had a half and half. One side Margherita pizza with goat cheese and the other was like a meat lovers with sausage and cashew cheese. Finished the entire thing by myself. The crust is thin just the way I like it. After you order your food wait near by to the left of the register where your food gets called out for you to pick up. They have some clearly labeled signs. Chalkboard can be hard to read but they have a printed menu by the register in case you are nearsighted like me. Will definitely be back here. So worth the drive. After listening to a co-worker rave about the huge salted chocolate chip cookies for weeks, I decided I had to make the voyage. Convinced a friend to meet me there for lunch where we split a tuna nicoise salad (really excellent, super tasty tuna salad) and mushroom pizza (better than average). As we were eating, we noticed several patrons walking by with large cups of iced green tea that looked like they would make a good companion to the real mission of our voyage, the BAKED GOODs. Accompanying our perfectly brewed tropical iced green teas we inhaled the salted chocolate chip cookie and Camelback bars. To take home: I got a bag of mini cookies (snickerdoodle, peanut butter and mini salted chocolate chip) and a slice of red velvet cake. She got a few macarons including a white Foxberry macaron! I was charged $2 for avocado, fine, but where was it? I opened it up and saw nothing but some green smudges like it was there but then they took it off. This is a unique store with several delicacies to buy including cards, cups, cute little gifts, etc. But not just that, they also have great food, coffee, juices, and desserts. There is a pizza place connected and even though I did not try the pizza there, smelled delicious. It was packed on a Sunday night at around 9pm which goes to show the food is probably really good. We had the coffee and juice from there and both were definitely good. The juice was very fresh, nothing with added sugars and such. We also tried some different desserts and they were all pretty decent. They also have an ice-cream section that had a long line. I definitely suggest ordering an Arnold Palmer if you're there and definitely take a peak around if you have some time and extra $$ for gifts. My goto's here include - the turkey sandwich on a wrap as well as any of their salads! If you're in a rush, you can order to go and pick up your food in one of their pick up parking spots as well. LGO has the best nut milk in town, which makes their coffee a sweet treat. However, they overcharge on their coffee AND skimp on their sizes/espresso shots. It's a pretty standard practice that coffee shops serve 4 espresso shots in their large. LGO's large is the size of a medium and comes with only 2 shots. When we asked if we could get our two nut milk lattes with 2 extra shots each our total came out to $15. Their nut milk and commuter sandwiches are fantastic. The English muffin is made in-house. But it's not quite worth the price they are charging. I recommend trying it out but wouldn't encourage frequenting the place read more

Used to love this place. Clearly they have lost a step. Servers are very tentative as if they don't know how to interact with customers. Both our Medium burgers were torched on the first try. The bun is a dry crumbly store bought variety. They recooked our burgers and second try was still overdone past medium. This place is not what is used to be. Lost the vibe it had and I would go to Ingo's instead of you want a good burger I guess you have to stick with the pizza at LGO. Lately the to go salads have been gross as I'm always having to pick out wilted items and the customer service has progressively become worse. Felt sick when I ate half of a brownie yesterday after a swim. Took a nap before work and felt ill immediately after I got out of bed to get ready for work. For brunch today, I heated up an almond croissant and a few pieces of brownie (a piece leftover from yesterday, and broke off an edge of another. (I also had my usual breakfast at home, organic oatmeal with almond butter and condensed milk!) Just grabbed the corner piece and broke it apart and felt all of these hair strands. Finally got the chance to check this place out. I ended up going twice within one weekend. Cool spot with limited parking. What a neat gem to find with a grocery market in the main part. Pizza section is off the to the left of the building, offering more seating for when it's busy. Food is fresh, the baked goods are to die for. Coffee is strong and delicious. The grab and go section by the register has multiple salads, fresh juices and sides. Try the freshly squeezed OJ with breakfast, it's obviously from real oranges. The biggest English muffins I have seen. They are fluffy, perfectly baked and have the right balance between white and sourdough toast. It is as close to a traditional English muffin you can get in the valley. You won't go wrong picking anything off the menu here, everything I've eaten or a friend has, is amazing. read more

I have been going to La Grande Orange for over 15 years. Though I still enjoy their food, the customer service is absolutely terrible! The young women at the register are not helpful at all and actually, they're rude! They can't even seem to muster a smile and certainly not a "thank you." It's not worth making eye contact with them when you make a purchase. I'm hearing the same thing from other people in the area too. La Grande Orange has great food and merchandise, but they need to train their staff to look their customers in the eye, smile and act like they appreciate your business. read more

If you want to find the best Popular Bar with flavorful Ginger Kombucha and the world's absolute best chicken wings, you absolutely must visit Popular Bar in La Grande Orange. My coworker Shaun and I stopped by Friday night and inquired about the different Kombucha drinks offered. One sampling of the Ginger Kombucha and I had to have one. Shaun tried a couple of their draft beers. We were enjoying our drinks and needed some food. We ordered a dozen of the largest chicken wings either of us have ever seen. They were so perfect. Slightly smokey and perfectly grilled with a light char and flavorful habanero glaze that's just so perfectly balanced. The wings were so great, had to have a second order to go. What happened to La Grande Orange ? Used to love it , just had the most disgusting burger ever , any place , anywhere, any time. To make matter worse, it was an airport location so $32 for the terrible burger and a small beer on tap before tip. Obviously, no quality control, bad , bad food . Weird Scenario. Came here and got the double chocolate cupcake first as a trial. The frosting was beyond terrible. It was tough and just nasty. I have found a new favorite restaurant when I want to grab a pizza, sandwich, or delicious sweet treat. You can't help from noticing the long line of patrons gathering for their morning fix at La Grande Orange, but don't let the crowd discourage you, LGO is worth the wait . Parking at LGO can be a challenge. However, valet service is available. LGO has a hip vibe with a café/local maket feel. The staff at LGO are very accommodating in helping you find exactly what your looking for. Give yourself some extra time to browse while at LGO, there are various trinkets and goodies. You'll find so many interesting gifts and items for yourself or a friend. On this visit we started off with salads. A Caesar and a Caprese. The salads were fresh, crispy, and delicious. After our salads came the pie. We ordered a cheese and sausage, all I can say is the pie was devoured. The crust was very crispy and very thin. Just cheese, tomatoes, sausage, and fresh basil. Pure, simple deliciousness. All our food came out fast and hot, except for the salads, which were cold and crisp. I also purchased a chocolate croissant, chocolate scone, and a bag of LGO's famous English muffins to go. LGO's English muffins are amazing, and are everything an English muffin should be. LGO's English muffins are soft and toast up perfectly for buttering. I don't recall ever having had an equal. Quirky combination of cuisine- they have cafe/breakfast/brunch options in the morning and early afternoon, specialize in pizza in the evenings, and also operate selling cakes and pastries. My family enjoys going for all three experiences lol. I've only been for breakfast, and ordered the "French Pancakes" with an iced coffee. I don't know why my single brain cell did not register that french pancakes are literally crepes, so I was surprised when I received my plate (go ahead, chuckle). The crepes are topped with chopped strawberries and drizzled with honey and a sweet cream, very nice to eat! The portion is on the smaller side so I'd count it more as a breakfast snack. The coffee definitely needed some kind of sweetener but that's completely my fault for forgetting to ask. I live super close to LGO, and come here regularly for coffee and sometimes breakfast. This place has a great vibe and super good coffee (there are lots of fair trade and organic options). The grapefruit sunrise juice (grapefruit and pomegranate) is also amazing. So for food and coffee, LGO gets 5 stars. Downside: on the weekends, this place gets PACKED. Because there is so much merchandise inside, it is almost impossible to move between all the people and stuff. The staff gets cranky, too. I mean, a smile would be nice! The coffee cart outside is a great option if you know what you want to order and want to avoid the crowds. There are even some cute picnic tables by the cart if you want to stick around to enjoy your food, and the servers outside are always super pleasant. Before you leave, check out the wine area. I love to peruse a cute wine shop, and LGO has a fun selection. read more

My friend had a bad experience at LGO a couple of weeks ago. She wrote a 2 star review about her experience and the business invited her back for an opportunity to make things right. She invited us to join her for an impromptu breakfast. We were walked to the back of the kitchen where Chef Cole was kind enough to pack up some freshly baked brownies for us. He also hooked us up with whatever we wanted at no cost. Wow... I mean they went out of their way to make things right! My boyfriend and I shared the commuter - our protein of choice was bacon. It was packed with bacon between the english muffin - the best english muffin ever. They make it fresh and from scratch. We also shared the chai latte which was good but we are smitten with the extra sweet chai latte at Starbucks. We did try a couple of bites of the brownie there - I thought it was too sweet but the boyfriends really liked it. Apparently Italians love their sweets. Go figure! lol Anyway, they have definitely won me over with going above and beyond their duty to make things right. I would come back to try some of their other sandwiches and sweets. read more

If you long for the experience of being glared at by an 18 year old for not tipping her at least 15% for giving you an empty paper cup so you can pour your own $3 cup of black coffee, you have come to the right place. The customer service is horrid. Tables sit filthy. The attitudes of the young girls that work the counters is simply atrocious. The card machines that try to guilt you to add a tip (Minimum 15%) for absolutely no service are really irritating. Food is good. Coffee is average. Music is good. LGO is usually always a 5 star rating for me. It's my home away from home. It's been a love of mine since my teenage years in my beloved Arcadia neighborhood. This 2 star rating is for one reason and one reason only. The reason: 2 words, ROASTED. CORN. Why, why, WHY has LGO ripped my heart out by ripping the roasted corn off the menu?! Not in season?! This is AMERICA! CORN isn't even a part of the dirty dozen! There's plenty of CORN in the U.S. to please the masses and bring back our beloved roasted corn pizza. I'm pregnant and all I'm craving is a sweet, savory, buttery, delicious roasted corn pizza. I call every week, ask, then hang up when they tell me the roasted corn isn't back yet. It hurts. Last night I was forced to go to Flower Child (bc still... no roasted corn) and it wasn't very good. It never really is. I miss LGO but I have to stay strong and boycott until they bring back the all mighty roasted corn. Every Saturday, when I go to the grocery store and walk by the LOADS OF CORN (corn that would go so beautifully on an LGO pizza), I weep, fall to my knees, and yell, WHHHYYYYY?!!!!!!! Damn you LGO. DAMN YOUUUU!!!! Yesterday, after I ate my crappy flower child wrap, I posted on my Facebook about the roasted corn pizza saying, "WHERE ARE YOU ROASTED CORN PIZZA" and, YEP, you guessed it, an influx of comments and likes came pouring in about how THEY TOO are up in arms over the kidnapping of our precious roasted corn pizza. 40 likes and 17 comments to date. And calling LGO every week, along with the 16 friends I've rallied on Facebook who are equally devastated.
