Coming here always feels like when your mom or dad (or aunt) would pull you out of school and say you were sick, just to then have an unmatched day of fun. Maybe it's because diners of this style are so few and far between these days - don't get me wrong, there are plenty of independent breakfast/brunch joints out there, but even so, they all start to feel like different shades of the same color after a while - the same multipage menus, the same décor, the same feeling going there. But the power of the counter and stools, of lovely low booths, of being able to see and smell what's on the griddle, these are the constituent parts that immediately start to add to your experience, like a pat of butter slowly melting and seeping in. And sure, you might be looking at another multipage menu, but here it feels a little more "just for you." Portions are always plenty hearty, and everything comes out quickly.

Tiny place in La Grange. We got lucky and found parking right outside. Otherwise, it could be a good walk if you don't find anything close. Their cherry filled fresh toast is good. The sausage patties are so so. Our server wasn't real friendly, very closed off. A couple things to note for improvement, add a mirror in the bathroom and make sure Clover works. When you get your bill, there's a QR code to pay via Clover, but I couldn't get it to walk. It kept saying page not found.

Great Location for a breakfast cafe, directly across the LaGrange Metra Station. Originally I was looking for a different breakfast place but made a wrong turn and spotted the this breakfast cafe which I am glad I stumbled here. The menu is vast and ended up getting my favorite biscuit and gravy. There is a black board in the back showing you the soup selection of the day which is nice. The Food was very good and fresh. The service was impecable too. She came by to check on us numerous times to see if we needed anything else. Highly recommend and will be back for more breakfast delights.

I've come past many times, it can be very busy. The food tasted great! I had the spinach, onion and feta cheese omelette that came with a choice of either toast or pancakes. I got the pancakes, also included hash browns. The service was fast and friendly! It looks small on the inside, but actually fits quite a bit of diners. They have outdoor seating too.

Nice little dinner located off the main strip of town. I had the corned beef skillet and it was filled with fresh ingredients! It also came with pancakes, which were the perfect companion. Everything was delicious and the service was great. I'll be back soon!

Service was very good. Cute place. Portions were a good size food was great. Coffee was very good.

    Reuben melt

A good neighborhood brunch staple. Food: I had the Reuben melt that comes with tater tots, coleslaw, and a cup of soup ( soup of the day was lemon chicken rice). The Reuben was a little salty but the slaw balanced it out very well. The tater tots were very crispy and paired well with a thousand island sauce on the side. The coleslaw was too sweet for my liking but still tasted refreshing. Service: the staff were very welcoming and fast to take orders. The food also came out very fast. Ambiance: small, homely neighborhood diner that seems very family owned. It is very clean and organized.

Wonderful. I was worried when cafe Calbay closed some over priced place would replace... but not at all. Still Diner style and menus.

It's one of those places that brings back good memories, and I'm always happy to stop in. We came on July 3rd, the day before a major holiday, fully expecting a long wait because the place was packed. To our surprise, since it was just the two of us, we were seated in about three minutes while larger parties waited. That was a great start to our visit. The avocado toast was perfection. Serving it on toasted sourdough bread was exactly the right choice. Simple, fresh, and full of flavor. Their coffee also hit the spot... although I have one tiny complaint--no Splenda! Ugh! But that's just a minor inconvenience. A little sugar never hurt anybody... well, sort of! I also ordered the corned beef hash, and it absolutely delivered. Great flavor, cooked just right, and definitely something I'd order again. I left full and completely satisfied. Our waitress was fun, friendly, and very attentive, which always makes the dining experience even better. Before leaving, I couldn't resist buying one of their coffee mugs (see photo). Was $20 a little pricey for a mug? Probably. Did I buy it anyway? Absolutely! Sometimes you just have to treat yourself. Another great visit to one of my favorite breakfast spots. I'll definitely be back! You have to try this location in Lagrange.ambience is defintely beautiful.

Disclaimers: - No…read morethe inside isn't the biggest. I was a bit hesitant about that before going as well. - Yes it's really only a burger joint. They have different appetizers and things but not a super extensive menu Do not let these things deter you tho. They're just facts. This place was pretty delicious. Mac n cheese was (I think) the best I've had from a restaurant in a while. I love the type of fries that they pair with the burgers, they were fresh & not too salty. Our burgers were also very good. Apparently they have a new burger/dessert of the week each week so those items do change. They looked like they'd have good drinks too, I'd definitely come back to try. It can be a bummer that it's not a place where you can eat, drink, then hangout a bit so don't expect to be allowed to sit for too long. Service was also very nice
