This is the best Mexican meal I have had in a while! The chicken fajitas are delicious, and the flavors are so strong and amazing. The whole ambience in there is fun and the service was quick. I highly recommend it!

When I tell this meat was POPPING with flavor. The meat was so delicious and lovely. It was a bit chewy but I did nit mind a bit. The beans were equally lovely and the staff was nice. The passion fruit drink was also just amazing. Def recommend.

Seated outside, but that was ok on the overcast day, and not hot at all (and lovely views, of course). Waitress was very good, friendly and everything got served right and well. Small tip if you are into the fruity drinks--- they had special mugs and change-color plastic glasses for extra $.....but the drink amounts in those is larger than the regular. I paid an extra buck for the color-changing class and got a bigger drink. On to the food: we had clam chowder (good taste, according to the eater), fried calamari, peel and eat shrimp, and "crabby bites." I liked the taste of the small crab cakes, but the crab cake aficionado in the group did not (she has rarely said GOOD to any crab cakes outside of Maryland!). Peel and eat shrimp was quite good-- plain, without much spice added, but bigger than the shrimp at many places around here. Key lime pie was fine; not very tart but thick texture and filling, for sure. We thought/feared it might be more 'gimmicky,' given the name, but it was a solid seafood meal, for sure. Would gladly go back, if there weren't so many other great places along the coast!

It was a Friday night and the restaurant was busy. It felt like others were also coming in for one last visit, which added a bittersweet feeling to the evening. I ordered a pina colada and a pineapple coconut martini. The drinks were perfect. Cold, smooth, and exactly what I remember. I will truly miss the drinks here. They have always been one of the highlights. For food, we ordered beef empanadas, coconut shrimp, and the honey butter crispy chicken sandwich. The empanadas were not quite as good as I remembered. The filling was more soupy than before and did not have the same bold flavor I used to enjoy. The coconut shrimp was solid and consistent. The chicken sandwich tasted like it may have been cooked slightly too long, making it a bit drier than expected. Service was great, especially considering how busy they were. The staff handled the crowd well and remained friendly and attentive throughout the night. While the food was not as memorable as it once was, the experience and the drinks reminded me why this place was special. It is always tough to see a longtime favorite close. Bahama Breeze: Please Don't Make Me Say Goodbye Yet…read more I'm back AGAIN because apparently I'm trying to get my Bahama Breeze fix before the doors close. Since we don't have this restaurant in the DC area anymore, every visit feels like a little tropical field trip. First of all, HAPPY HOUR! The $5 drinks--even the rail drinks--were actually GOOD. And at $5, I'm not asking questions. I'm just ordering another one. For round one, I tried the Spinach Dip, which was creamy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing--or keeping all to myself. I came back for another visit because apparently I had unfinished business. This time I ordered the Jerk Shrimp Pasta with added chicken. Unfortunately, this one wasn't my favorite. The flavor just wasn't giving what I needed it to give. BUT the Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos? Now THESE understood the assignment. Flavorful, satisfying, and easily the highlight of that visit. I skipped dessert both times because apparently I have limits. I'm genuinely sad that Bahama Breeze will be closing soon, BUT I'm also intrigued by the possibility of a rebrand. So I'm choosing to see this as a "to be continued" instead of a goodbye. Until then, I'll be over here making my final Bahama Breeze memories one $5 happy-hour drink at a time.

Still a Favorite After 30 Years!…read more I've been a frequent diner at Bahama Breeze for the past 30 years, so it's safe to say I'm a fan! My most recent visit to the Vineland Ave. location near the outlets was for a date night, and overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. We started with several margaritas, and they were vibrant, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the evening. We also enjoyed the yuca sticks and coconut shrimp -- both were delicious. The one big miss of the night was the tostones with chicken. The fried plantains were burnt, there was very little chicken, and unfortunately, there was none of the jerk seasoning that really brings this dish together. That was disappointing, especially since the flavors are what make this appetizer stand out. That said, I'm chalking it up to an off night. One dish isn't going to change my opinion after three decades of enjoying Bahama Breeze. I still love the restaurant, the atmosphere, and the overall experience -- and I'll definitely be back soon! Hopefully the tostones are back to their usual standard on my next visit.

When I arrived with some of my dinner guests, we still had a wait before we were escorted to a private room. Rachel apologized and worked to get us someone else to take care of us. After that, we settled in and enjoyed the rest of our dinner. I ordered the Beef Empanadas, the Tequila Sunburn Glazed Salmon (comes with Mashed Sweet Potato and Green Beans) and a Dragon Fruit Margarita. The Dragon Fruit Margarita was delicious. I didn't want to get full before receiving my food so I took sips while we waited. It was hard not drinking it all too quickly. It was good. It was served in a glass with a sugar coated rim and lime wedge. The Beef Empanadas are an all-time favorite and never disappoints. I couldn't eat all my food so I packaged the rest to go. I was presented with a glass of ice cream topped with whipped cream and cherries. A candle perfectly placed in the ice cream was lit and waiting for me to make a birthday wish and blow out the flame. The night was not over yet. After dinner, we went outside and sat to listen to the live steel pan music. It was a wonderful way to end the evening. As the cool air embraced us so did the melodic tunes of the steel pan music. Thank you Rachel for salvaging the evening and remedying our unfortunate experience with one of the service staff.
