Went here for lunch for my dad's birthday and everything was pretty good. Still looking for killer seafood in Central Florida and it's tough. This place was good, not great though. I ordered the Wahoo special as it sounded amazing with a Ginger Stir Fry. I am not a fan of broccoli but this one was delicious. The fish itself was a bit overcooked, but the dish was well crafted. The twin lobster tails were served kinda messy with the lemon butter spilled all over the fries. The waiter brought fresh fries and another lemon butter, but it was kind of congealed like a thick mayonnaise. Not really dippable. The lobster was good though. The wedge salad was delicious! Fresh and cheesy. And the birthday boy got a free dessert and he chose the chocolate one (smart boy). It was also pretty good and disappeared the fastest of all of the food. I wasn't in a drinking mood (I know, right?) but I will say their drink menu looked phenomenal. There were at least 4 drinks that I wanted (typically, it's 1-2 on a normal cocktail menu). I'd definitely go back as they had a pretty diverse menu. Service was excellent up until the point where it was time to leave. The place got a little busy on a Saturday afternoon. Food was pretty good but this is the 2nd time we have been there and the service was very slow and not very attentive. Both times from the time to order and our meals arriving (a couple burgers and a steak) has been over 30 minutes both times. Hardly anyone in the restaurant so I'm guessing they don't have enough kitchen help. Too many other restaurants in the area with as good or better food and much better service. We had reservations for 5 at 6:30. We got there and asked for a table since I just had open heart surgery. The hostess seemed put out by our request. She took us 5 to a small table for 4 and said she could put a chair on the end. I said that wouldn't work the tables was small. There was a table set for six next to us, she said it was taken. After a delay she gave us the table for 6.,, the Resturant wasn't half full, many empty tables. She over reacted. The food was as good as usual, the service was good. I will go back. Upon leaving I tried to say goodnight to the hostess but she walked past us and ignored us. The girl needs to understand , we can eat anywhere. The food is equal to most places. I don't know how we made the mistake of eating at this restaurant again on a drive to South Florida. I (as always trusted Yelp) and because there are limited options in this area, we went in. As soon as we walked in, we knew we had been here years ago and it was bad. We should have left. The server was nice enough but he was waiting tables, working the bar, and the whole experience was a disaster along with bad food. Fish tacos were fishy and awful! Wrap was not good. Service was awful. My husband had to go find him after us being there an hour to get our check. Stay away! We will not go there again. Period. read more

Service and filet are always on point! My grandma's favorite spot and we are there every few weeks. Only issue is they ruined the New Orlean's Pasta; used to be spicy and even when requested it is still not as spicy as it used to be...only major negative. Will be back again soon. read more

Malibu Beach Grill has a pleasant environment outdoor seating, available next to the lake and playground. Their food and service are both reliably good, above average for this area. Prices are a bit steeper than some other options, but the food is just so worth it! The plates usually come with a side of vegetables, and some sort of a starch, or perhaps a second vegetable, which is nice to have,if you're trying to eat healthily. I usually get the citrus scallops, but I've never been let down no matter what I choose. Their desserts are usually equally good and worth the extra spend. read more

First of all our daughter had made reservations for her family and I made reservations for my wife and I for a different time. When I got there I asked if they could combine the two reservations and handle six people. Front staff said no problem and made it happen. Then at the appropriate time we were given a private dining room where Nick our server was outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive and very nice. Food all around was great. Mushroom appetizer was really good and all food was well prepared. Oh did I mention this was all done today- Mother's Day? This type of service and food would have been outstanding on any regular day but on one of the busiest days of the year is exemplary. We will be back. We went in for a very late OR very early dinner at 3:30 pm. As basically the only customers at the bar we received friendly and attentive service. The sautéed mushrooms were fantastic! The maui entree was a great size with a tasty edamame succotash. The fish was overcooked! All in all a nice experience. We will return. read more

We are Foodies and this was an excellent meal!! We were surprised that a resturantb with "grill" in the name could serve such high end food. We had Bacon Wrapped Scalops for an appetizer. They were good but could have used either lemon or maple syrup to go with them instead of mango salsa. One of us had a Ribeye Oscar medium rare with a side of Asparagus and a side of Asiago mashed potatoes. The other had a filet thermodore medium rare with provolone mushrooms and Asiago mashed potatoes. Everything was outstanding! Even the California Mule and a Harvest Spice Martini. Let me brag on Malibu Beach Grill!!!! When I walked in the door the host greeted me with a smile. It seemed like an upscale restaurant in which I asked was there a dress code, he assured me there was no dress code. I asked was there a wait time for a party of 5. He said no wait! By the time I stepped out to get my group and walked back in we were seated immediately. Our waiter was awesome, he said his name was "Clint", just like Clint Eastwood. My kids are like who is Clint Eastwood. I laughed and had to educate them on who CE is and the movie that popped in my head was Bronco Billy, . We ordered spicy shrimp as an appetizer and we had water to drink. Clint suggested some amazing suggestions. The ribs were flavorful and we were able to pull the meat off the bone. My salmon was soooo good along with the Oscar on the side with Asiago mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. The only two items that need some attention are the crab cakes which were over breaded and the fish sticks were fried hard. We will definitely return when we return. read more

This place was even better than I expected and deserves every single star given! It's only a 15 minute drive from the beach and tucked away in a little plaza near a lake. The dining room is nice and inviting, and the staff was really friendly as well. Our server steve (I think that was his name) was awesome! You can tell the people who run this restaurant and kitchen love what they do because every single thing we received was so fresh and delicious. We started with their complimentary baked bread, and I had the chopped wedge salad and my goodness me oh my....It was so good!! The tacos were also perfect and the French fires were the kind of fries you write home about.. everything was on point even down to the churro fried cheesecake. 10/10 from me! My wife and I went in to the restaurant last night for dinner and it was not a good experience. I specifically came for the Dayboat Citrus Scallops, a meal that I've had here before and enjoyed. My wife ordered the Lobster and Shrimp Alfredo. We started with the Thai Calamari. This came out to us as greasy fried, square fish sticks? I'm not even sure what kind of fish they were. I have never, ever had Calamari that was not round and hollow and part of the tentacles. We received our meals after a longer wait than usual and I looked down at my $30 Scallop plate and couldn't believe the mess I received. Everything was haphazardly thrown on the plate and the Scallops were a flat, overly cooked and overly butter drenched, mushy mess! I ordered Mushrooms and they were cooked down so much they resembled tiny round dots on my plate. The Broccoli however was cooked okay. Yay My wife's Lobster and Shrimp Alfredo came out minus the Crostini's and with 2 little pieces of lobster and a few small shrimp. The waitress asked how the meal was and I explained my situation, she got the manager and she said that she could provide a better representation of what I expected and possibly some Crostini's for my wife whose plate was 3/4's finished. I did receive better scallops on the 2nd go round after another wait and my wife got her Crostini's while she was taking her last bites of Alfredo. But as you can imagine... these actions really never repair the evening. Next dinner out, I will spend my $96.00 elsewhere. read more

First time here. Our server Sam was very nice. I had been wanting lobster tails and tonight one of their specials was 2 tails dinner for $30. This was 12$ off the regular price. Everything was good.
