BOOM!!!! A must stop…read morefor Columbian! Know that this is a very busy place to though. This was a truly amazing experience into the flavors of a Colombian meal. I decided to go with here to taste a different part of the world. The dish I selected, is the Banda Paisano Trifeca which is a macro and micronutrient bomb of delicious vegetables, starches, and protein. Apparently many with very hard physically demanding jobs need a "strong meal," and within Columbian Culture this dish was formed. Beautiful story, AND it has blood sausage!!! The place was slammed but got me the first available seat in 10 mins or so, and though we both couldn't communicate beyond the common cordial words and menu semantics, her demeanor and body language was very inviting and courteous. This place was a class act. Get you some!!!

I live 4 hours away from this place, so everytime I am in the Los Angeles area I try to stop here…read more I ate at this place on Monday 6/9 around 5 pm knowing that they were closing at 6 pm. Flavor was spot on as usual. Things I did not enjoy this time: 1. I was charged for 2 chorizos when I had only ordered 1. (Always ask for printed invoice and check before leaving). 2. I was charged $6 for a chorizo that was as long as my thumb. In the past their chorizos were much bigger and cheaper. (Do not order chorizos a la carte). 3. The meat in my "bandeja paisa" was ver fatty. Maybe my negative experience had to do with the fact that the restaurant was about to close.

We came here on a Friday night and the place had a steady trickle of people…read more We got the spinach empanada, vegan plate and the bandeja paisa, which is a standard Colombian plate. The vegan plate had black beans, white rice, plantains, and a side salad. The bandeja paisa had beans, a fried egg, chicharron, steak, rice, plantain, and chorizo. The meat was perfectly grilled but the chicharron was a little tough but still good. The vegan plate had much flavor -- the beans were tasty and the rice fresh. They were very generous with the plantains. The complimentary tortilla chips and salsa were so fresh and delicious. The spinach empanada was a little tough - it was crispy but there was less spinach than I would have expected and the cheese in it wasn't really melted either. Overall the food was very fresh and delicious. Parking can be tricky bc their lot fits only 3 cars. We parked a couple blocks in the neighborhood. Front of the store parking also seems limited. Service was kind and efficient. Food came out in less than 5-10 minutes. Place is well decorated and has nice seemingly traditional decor inside.

Plenty of vegetarian options and they're flexible with substitutions. Love the homey mom and pop vibes, this is a small business that you should 1000% support.

Are you ready to eat a hefty and hearty meal? La Fonda Antioquena is one of few Columbian…read morerestaurants in LA. I've been here a few times since I tag along with my Columbian friend for brunch here. This place is not for vegetarians. So, keep on driving or skip reading this if you are. The empanadas here are delicious. My favorite type of empanadas. Made with a crunchy, fried corn dough filled with meat. Served with encurtido, it's a Columbian salsa type but little spice. What I had recently here is sanchocho. This soup reminds me of a caldo de res but with oxtail, plantain, yucca. It also has potato and corn. Very hearty and comforting. It's served with a side of white rice on the side and arepa. If you every come here for breakfast, you'll be fed like a champion. Try the bandeja paiso.. Take your gout pills first. It's a meat fest. Serving of fried pork belly (crispy chitarrones), grilled steak (churrasco). It's served with rice, beans, egg, plantains, arepas, Comes with heart healthy avocado and a tomato for good health. You might have a hard time standing up after this meal. The service here is always good. Well especially because my friend is a regular.

The woman (Sandra) who came up to our table was to ask us to move to a smaller table. Mind you we sat there so we could watch the World Cup game as we waited and ate. She was so rude about it!!! Then the waiter to finally came to take our order was also rude. Didn't greet us, they lack manners. I liked one of the empanadas but they have a different name, other than that their food was bland tasteless. I came here with a Colombian friend who wanted to try Colombian food in LA she liked her plate but it was the most simple thing you could order, steak rice and beans. Would never go back here ever... oh also the place was filthy they should keep their tables and floors clean come on.

Portion sizes were on the smaller side, and the ingredients didn't feel particularly special. The seasoning was underwhelming, and I found the lack of spice options disappointing--it just didn't hit the mark for me. The burger I had was a bit of a letdown, with conflicting flavors. It was crunchy in some spots, soggy in others, and oddly sweet, which didn't quite come together. Still, I'm curious to try the empanadas next time and see if they redeem the experience

The French fries were amazing as well. The burger was fresh, I loved every single sauce. We will be back soon for sure. The place is clean and well maintained. Gorgeous place. I don't think you could walk out of this establishment without smiling; even after having the worst day. These lovely folks are the nicest, warmest people. They greeted me with the warmest smiles and they were happy to chat and answer questions about the menu. The restaurant is gorgeous, and I'm grateful to have been a part of this experience. Now we have a new favorite burger place! A very special thank you to the owners, it was a great afternoon.
