    shrimp-chicken-beef fajita for one ($19) - huge

Unassuming, attached to Red Roof Inn, but what a hidden gem of a restaurant! My sister visits on her long drives up the East coast, and I wish I had the opportunity to do so, too. Great portion sizes, fresh food, prompt and kind service.

This was a pretty solid Mexican restaurant! From the outside it doesn't look like much, but it was great! The interior has some fun decorations and music and lots of space. The staff were really friendly and our waiter anticipated our needs. None of us were drinking but the margaritas and other cocktails looked amazing! The chips and salsa were good. We got dinner combos, which were definitely enough food and it was nice to pick exactly what you wanted. The beans and rice were great. I think the best thing was the chile relleno- not over breaded, delicious cheese, just great. This is a great Mexican option in the area.

A nice Mexican restaurant inside of Best Western hotel next to Kings Dominion. You get complementary chips and salsa. I ordered Carni Asada which was great. Portion was more than expected and price isn't bad ($19.99). I will go back again if I'm in the area.

Pretty good spot and we would come again! Attached to a small motel which was a concern but once inside it was spacious, open and clean. It is right next to the Kings Dominion amusement park so if you're looking for something after leaving this should be your spot. We tried the taco salad, chicken enchiladas and chicken tacos. All average to above average Tex-Mex. Service was pleasant if not a bit slow. Enjoy!

10/10! Blown away by the service and the quality/size of the food! This spot is right next to Kings Dominian and perfect if you're on I-95 and looking for a place to stop. The portion size is crazily huge - we're talking HUGE. And, the food is incredibly fresh and well priced. Two dishes can definitely feed 3-4 people. The service is amazing as well. I was surprised by what a great restaurant it was considering that the location is a little out of nowhere (and from the outside, you wouldn't expect much). But definitely is a go-to spot for me.

Margarita and a Jalapeño Margarita- they both were flaming. Super cool!

Food and margaritas were delicious! We were a little worried when we followed our GPS to this restaurant. It takes you a route that makes you think you're heading into the park! Once you get to the parking lot, it's attached to a hotel. We thought, "oh boy" but we were super hungry. Don't let all that deter you! The food was amazing. The service was better than most high end restaurants. We will be back!

Huge portions! Loved the Herradura Fajitas and Mango Chili Margarita. Lots of options on kids menu too.

We stumbled upon this restaurant after going to Kings Dominion, as it's only a 1 minute drive from the park. We were happily surprised by the quality of the food! We shared the lunch special burrito with mixed steak and chicken and it was more than enough for the 2 of us (and for a reasonable $12!). They also kept it coming with the free chips and salsa! Will be back next time we head to Kings Dominion.

After looking for someplace close we found cafe54. SUPER close to campus. My eggs were ok. The corned beef hash was the canned kind just like I like it, because some stuff you can make fresh and fancy up but that preservative, war time taste just hits and you know I'm right. I had coffee that would put hair on your chest. and an Arnold palmer that was kind of watery. Oddly enough I found those traits acceptable. My son had french toast. This is only the 3rd time he's had it (by choice) and he really enjoyed it. While brunch/lunch was a 3.5 in my book it was a 5 for him There is no tap to pay but they do take the usual cash and card. So just don't forget your cards in your pants pockets and you'll be ok. The place was bright and airy with outdoor seating and the service was just ok. Decent place. You should go in a try it out.

I've eaten here twice now the first time I said, I would never go back, but I wanted to give it a second chance. This place basically does breakfast and if you only do one thing, you should be great and let's face it. Breakfast is one of the easiest things to make and do well but this place misses the mark on every level. First impressions walking in the door, the place is freezing cold even the waitresses all have goosebumps and who wants to sit in a refrigerator and be uncomfortable while you're eating? We walked in the door to a nearly empty restaurant with these big, beautiful sunny windows, but they sat in a dark corner while the booths in the windows were all empty. Business 101 people attract people put them in the windows so that they can have use and people can see that the business has customers!!!! maybe they didn't wanna sit us next to the windows because they were covered with greasy fingerprints that looked like they had been there since the last weekend and hadn't been cleaned. The glass was gross. The menu has all the standard fair that you would expect from a regular breakfast restaurant.... in Kansas. all very American. Nothing stands out as being gourmet or unique in a market where there's a lot of money and a lot of transplants who are used to better stuff than ordinary Americana breakfast food. The prices are a little high, but it's 2026. Everything's high. We order our food. I got scrambled eggs and they were hard as rubber because they were overcooked.! How do you own a breakfast restaurant and you can't cook scrambled eggs? I had the eggs returned and they did a decent enough job on the next batch but generally speaking the food was just barely OK. I got orange juice and it came in a giant glass and it was clearly from concentrate. Maybe that works in Iowa but at a specialty restaurant in a fashionable town I want fresh squeeze orange juice. I don't need 10 gallons of it. I would rather have a little juice glass full of fresh orange juice than a gallon of concentrated crap. I just don't think these people understand their clientele and they don't do anything special like blueberries for your pancakes.... There's so many things you can do with breakfast and they just did the bare minimum. It's so disappointing to have the restaurant with the absolute best geography in our community barely trying to make decent food or make customers comfortable in a clean environment. I was charitable when I gave them two stars because I actually felt bad. I want them to succeed, but they really need to rethink what they're doing and try a lot harder.

First, I checked out the menu that is posted on the wall, and tried to make the right decision. EVERYTHING is homemade. Ok, I decided on the Tuna Salad on a white homemade yeast roll. You can select one side, so I had cucumber, tomato and onion salad. I couldn't pass up on fresh lemonade and a slice of one of the most delicious coconut pie I've ever had. The lady that took my order was soooo sweet and of course knowledgeable of the menu. I didn't feel rushed, just relaxed. Soooo we had the most interesting conversation that concluded her parents knew my mother back in the day. I didn't expect tears of joy at lunch. It was lovely! I didn't get her name, but I'll never forget her until I return with friends and family to experience this "small town" treasure. Ok, the food. The roll was golden brown, soft and screamed HomeMade. It was filled with a white flaky and well seasoned tuna salad, topped with fresh crunchy shredded lettuce. YUM ! The cucumber, grape tomato and onion salad had a lite vinaigrette dressing. Fresh !! There is freshly made strawberry lemonade, lemonade, Iced tea and the Pepsi fountain drink products. Ok, the star of the show. That slice of coconut pie was Perfect. The crust was brown, very flaky and filled with a thick creamy coconut filling. This little cute old town restaurant is next to the railroad track and train station that's across from Randolph Macon College. It's popular to the students and residents of Ashland. If you would like A DELICIOUS Lunch in a warm and cute small town restaurant, come to Homemade's by Suzanne!!!! Thank you
