Headed to Florida on business. The I-95 was shut down due to a bad accident. After being stuck in traffic for over 2hrs was hungry and tired. Took the detour and thankfully found Homemades by Suzanne. I had a fresh roast beef and cheddar sandwich on homemade bread with a simple cucumber tomato salad. The coffee was good too. A local favorite. The people here were genuinely friendly. All the desserts are homemade too. I had their double chocolate cookie that was perfect. Ever find yourself in Ashland this is the spot!

Grilled Chicken Sandwich with bacon and parmesan

Well this was our first visit here and it was selected due to a local fella we met earlier in the day. Well it was a beautiful day to sit outside and watch folks walking and the trains pass. As for our meals. I had creamy white cheese Mac&Cheese and the Grill Chicken sandwich with bacon and parmesan. Both were very good and filling. They wifey had a Chicken Salad Sandwich. She really liked it. Now walking past the desert case, I spotted chocolate chip bread pudding thing. I was very very good. Rich tasting but very good. As for service. There was a line maybe 10 folks ahead of us. It went fairly fast. The ladies did real well moving meals out. Id say we waited maybe 15 minutes for our meals and maybe 10 minutes in line. Again I think they moved us fairly well. We'd eat here again and hope you give it a shot as well.

For some reason I thought this was a breakfast place and it ended up being more of a sandwich place. I ended up meeting my friend here as I saw the good reviews. I ordered the BLT sandwich with the slaw. The food came out really quickly, but I expected it to be a little bigger. My friend told me it is okay and he came for the company which was nice of him. Believe it or not it gets quite busy over there too. The place does look dated, but it is okay, it serves the community.

We absolutely love going to Homemades by Suzanne for a delicious lunch and a wonderful experience. Their Strawberry Limeade is excellent! Every employee has always been so kind and accommodating during every visit.

Sun dried tomato and bacon quiche, crab cake, and deviled eggs

Walking in to the cutest atmosphere I wasn't expecting a self serve experience. The quiche I had was bacon and sun dried, it was delicious. The crab cake was on point, but the deviled eggs were a touch bland. Overall the food was good, but for the price I expected a bit more. Customer service was good, but for the price and adorable atmosphere I was hoping for more "southern" hospitality. This is definitely more of a buy and go place, but they offer a large selection of goodies. As a diabetic I didn't have a ton of options but I can see the appeal for sure.

BLT, North Carolina BBQ sandwich, Greek salad, LOBSTER SALAD

The lobster salad is DELICIOUS. Lots of lobster, creamy, and wonderfully seasoned with dill. We also had the North Carolina BBQ sandwich with coleslaw which was tasty and the meat was so tender. All of their sides looked wonderful, we got a cucumber salad and Greek salad. Both tasty. We didn't get dessert but all of the baked goods looked amazing. The decor is very pleasant with antique plates everywhere. The staff was wearing masks and the seating was spaced out. Indoor and outdoor seating was available. The service was fast! Really lovely place overall!

Delicious. My two girls got the kids turkey sandwich with fruit, I got the crab quiche with fruit and my husband got the club with potato salad. The bread was amazing and fresh. I loved the quiche! My husband and I also split a cream pie. It was expensive in my opinion but unfortunately with this market....what isn't. I saw previous reviews making comments about the decor. It reminded me of a mom and pop shop. Wouldn't change anything.

I love the boxed lunches here and all the homemade bread, salads and desserts! A staple in Ashland, if you haven't eaten or ordered from Suzanne's, you don't know what you're missing! The chicken, egg and tuna salads are so fresh and tasty, made with their signature style! Eat in or carry out, Suzanne's doesn't disappoint! You'll be hard pressed to choose from their amazing variety of salads, sandwiches and soups! It's all good here by the train tracks at this quaint, homestyle gem!

Stopped here on a road trip headed down I-95, convenient location just off the highway. Food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent. Menu has a great variety but isn't overwhelming. Excellent wine list and selection of beers, and mixed drinks, as well as appetizers and deserts. We had cheese steak egg rolls with fries. The specials were what we ordered for dinner: Lobster Ravioli- great portion of lobster meat with a creamy sweet pink sauce; and the AHI tuna special with a really nice red sauce with diced green peppers, thinly sliced onions, and chopped olives, with a side of spaghetti and marinara sauce. It was more food than we could finish so we took away leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Was sad to pass on the desert menu- lots of great options to choose from. Our server, Fawn was very polite, super attentive, and very cheerful. We came on a Friday night after the dinner rush and had a very quiet and relaxing dinner. Highly recommend for a far better than average casual dining experience.

We were seated promptly, given menus and didn't have to wait very long for our server to bring taco chips and salsa as well as a white dipping sauce. ( It was a little sweet for me but it mixed nicely with the salsa) He took our drink order and we looked at the menu. It's nice that most places have unsweetened tea, because I'm not a soda drinker....but sometimes I want something other than water. We saw a nice size platter at the next table that looked really good, so we asked our server about it. It was a Taquito platter with rice, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and guacamole. We were looking for a light meal so we decided to split the platter. It was very good, the Taquitos could have used a bit more filling, but everything was delicious. Our server was fabulous, he gave us a window booth, which we love. The menu has a decent vegetarian section to begin and our server made it easy to veganize our dishes from there (hold the cheese, sour cream). The menu (at least the menu that was available at 3 PM) is limited to burgers and sandwiches ($9-$10), wings, fried or baked chicken dinners ($9 - $9.50) and side dishes.($2 - $3.) Sandwich offerings include Pulled pork, cheese steak, pork chop, fish, and crab cake, each comes with one side. Sides include string beans, coleslaw, fries, potato salad, and mac & cheese. There is a decent bar set up that appears to be geared toward tropical drinks -- lots of colored liquid in bottles. (The chalkboard special drink was a "blue long island.") I noticed some top shelf brands as well, so they are prepared to make people happy. We opted for a pork chop sandwich with mac & cheese and a cheese steak sandwich with fries. My wife and I always have a debate in small places how much of the food is precooked by Cisco or PFG and how much is truly made in a kitchen. I have to say in this case the food seemed to be truly fresh from the kitchen for the most part. The pork chop was tender and well seasoned, deep fried and on white bread. It was too big for my wife to finish. The cheese steak was gooey with melty cheese sauce and well-griddled onions in addition to bite sized thinly cut steak, again very well seasoned. I finished it and could have eaten more, but I was satisfied. The macaroni had a good amount of cheese mixed into the bechamel, seemingly house made. Only the fires were guaranteed frozen, and I have no qualms with that, very few affordable eats cut their own potatoes. This was a very satisfying lunch. Only two quibbles. Service is in styro take out containers, not plates. This was surprising, since the numerous tables bespeak an expectation of dining in. And for whatever reason they only have sweet tea, no unsweet. This is to be expected further south but seems an omission here. These are minor quibbles. Service was fast and friendly. Opening a restaurant on the back end of a pandemic is very brave. I hope the place thrives because the flavors are indeed good.
