Perfect timing. I went here and was politely assisted with the manager for seating. They were between brunch and dinner and approaching prep hours for the evening reservations. I was able to be accommodated with the stipulation of order food before the kitchen transitioned. Fortunately the food was amazing especially the Croque Monsier. The restaurant was quiet and intimate at the time of dining. The staff experience was 5 star and the food roughly 4.2. Overall experience on this day 4.7 of 5

I ate breakfast at La Jetee on 3 occasions because I was staying in the attached hotel. Amazing! I was really wowed by how delicious the food was! The yogurt parfait was shockingly good. I was expecting a typical, nothing to write home about yogurt but I was wrong. It was packed with flavor, just the right amount of sweetness, and super fresh ingredients. I also had the strawberries and cream which was also extremely tasty. Could use more bread with it though. I only had a drink in one occasion but it was a very good espresso martini. The service each time was really exceptional as well. Wish I had tried the dinner but only had time for breakfast.

I love the decor and the ambiance. The service is superb here. We made a reservation and were seated immediately. I love that there is a heavy emphasis on locally sourced ingredients. The food was okay. My husband enjoyed the Whipped Tonnato (hazelnuts, olives, pepper, honey, croustades). The Steak Frites dish was half great (the fries) and half poor (the meat was chewy, I am not sure if it was the quality of meat or the cut, but it was not pleasant to eat). The warm, tasty loaf of French bread was brought to the table after our entrees, which seemed a bit odd. I have eaten a lot of French food, this was all good not great.

I really only came here because of my love for the Chris Marker film that shares a name with this new French restaurant in Baltimore's Harbor Point, on the off-chance that the chef's sensibility might have been inspired by the same. That too in a city confused in time and place that makes me think of Sans Soleil. I was quite excited by the menu offerings, including a whole section dedicated to one of my favorite beverages, pastis. I of course went for the pernod. The food was a bit of a mixed bag. While I was eager to try the panisse, it was dense on the inside, and the two of us couldn't finish that many plain chickpea fritters. Our favorite item was the lentil and squash, with a nice sweetish flavor to the lentils that paired very nicely with a side of the tomato rice. We didn't love the pasta dish with peas, which appeared to be a vegetarian take on carbonara but had a strange texture to the sauce. The menu is potentially promising and the exposed concrete setting is lovely, so there is more to be hoped for from La Jetée!

Baltimore just got a very chic new French spot Say hello to La Jetée, where seafood is the heart of the menu and freshness is the standard--everything is locally sourced and pulled from the water in under 48 hours From the moment you walk in, the decor sets the tone: elegant, cozy, and perfect for a solo date, date night, or a laid-back happy hour Start your night with a sip -- I loved the L'ORANGERIE or LANTERNE ROUGE cocktails (both light, refreshing, and dangerously smooth). For bites, don't skip: FOUGASSE - traditional roasted garlic rosemary bread with aïoli Fresh Raw Oysters WHIPPED TONNATO - hazelnuts, olives, black pepper honey & baguette (aka the French tuna dip you didn't know you needed) Entrée favorites that stole the show: FRUITS DE MER - hand-cut noodles, tomato passata, mussels, clams, lobster & monkfish WHOLE GRILLED DAURADE - herbs de Provence potatoes, caramelized fennel, citrus & arugula salad, rosemary persillade BURGER MAISON - house-ground short rib, Cantal, onion confit, pickles, aïoli, brioche bun & frites Pair it all with their NEGRONI BLANC --chef's kiss. And whatever you do...save room for dessert Their tableside MOUSSE AUX CHOCOLAT with vanilla whipped cream + a freshly brewed espresso martini is the perfect finale. Strongly recommend supporting this new Baltimore gem -- whether you're planning a solo date, a romantic night out, or catching up with friends over happy hour. Add La Jetée to your must-visit list ASAP and show some love to this beautiful new business #baltimore #baltimorefoodie #baltimoreeats #baltimorerestaurants #yelpbaltimore #dmv #dmveats #dmvfoodie #dmvrestaurants

I hate to write such a middling review as the first review for La Jetée, but I wish I'd waited before checking them out. They're still so new (I think they opened October 5), and I don't think things have really jelled yet. The restaurant is beautiful - elegant but still casual enough that you don't feel you have to dress up, with windows looking out onto the Harbor, romantic lighting, and lots of space. The service was good - friendly - but it was clear that the staff don't know the menu well yet. We asked about the oysters they had on the menu, but our server didn't know much about them and recommended we try one of each rather than getting a half dozen of a particular oyster variety. Our server also said he hadn't had time to try the desserts yet. Understandable since the restaurant is new, but it felt like the staff weren't that knowledgeable about the menu yet. The staff were very friendly however - from the hostess to the bartenders to our server! I had a couple of glasses of wine (a Chardonnay and a Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc), and my husband tried a few of their cocktails (a mezcal-based cocktail and a rye-based cocktail). They also have an espresso machine, so we had two single espressos at the end of our meal. The beverage menu was good. I really enjoyed that they've leaned into French/Provençal drinks and liqueurs (spritzes, pastis). On to the food. We shared a few dishes. We started with some oysters (2 Ruby Salts, 2 Shooting Points, 2 Orchard Points), which are served with mignonette and rye toast with butter. Our oysters still had adductors muscles attached to their shells, but we weren't given an oyster fork, so I had to use my table knife to cut the muscle at the table. We also had their traditional Pissaladière (a savory tart or flatbread from the Provence with caramelized onions, black olives, and anchovies). I've had the Pissaladière at Woodberry Tavern and loved it. But Pissaladière at La Jetée was a little off. The onions weren't all the way caramelized and they were so wet and there were so many of them that the bread just seemed wet and weighed down. It was still the best dish we had all night - it just has flavors I love (how I love anchovies). We also shared two mains. The first was the Rockfish Roti (breadcrumbs, grilled summer squash, fennel confit, and sauce soubise). While I found the rockfish perfectly cooked, I didn't enjoy the rest of the dish. The fennel confit had no flavor at all; when it came to the table, it looked more like sauce gribiche than fennel confit. I had to check the menu to remind myself what I had read on the menu, because it didn't taste like much at all. The sauce soubise was just kind of strange - it was so white it looked more like unset royal icing over the grilled squash. We enjoyed the cook on the squash and the fish, but the dish didn't come together for us. Our second main was the crispy chicken paillard (with pickled shallot, salade verte, lemon, and chive aioli). Paillard is sort of a French version of schnitzel or milanese. The breading of our chicken had gotten too dark, and the chicken was quite dry. The salad was almost entirely undressed. Sadly, we didn't enjoy this dish either. I like the concept of La Jetée. We have a couple of French restaurants in Baltimore, but I don't think there are any that specialize in the cuisine of Provence. This menu definitely offers something different and special from other French restaurants' menus. The menu is large enough that there was quite a bit more I wanted to try: fougasse, panisse, clams escabeche, warm crushed chickpea salad, yellowfin tuna au poivre... However, when we visited - only a few weeks after they opened - most of the food was underwhelming. I can see it coming together better as they get their sea legs under them, but it wasn't there yet for me! I'm hopeful that with some more time, they'll end up being one of better restaurants in the city, because I'd love a classic Provençal place in the city!

This restaurant was located in the lobby of the hotel we stayed at and we were super excited to try this for a couple of meals while we were there for the weekend. We usually like to pick hotels with a full menu so it is easier for us to grab meals with the Toddlé.. in this instance we were able to get some desserts and night cap, sides, and breakfast items. I would say that it is a newer restaurant and I wish it had more vegetarian options. Breakfast was great but the coffees could use some hep. We had ordered a mocha and latte both were passable, but not something I would get again.

Rockfish and Sauvignon ($36) House sauvignon blanc ($16)

I visited from out of town and stayed at The Canopy by Hilton. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the restaurant could use some refinement. I ate dinner there once and stopped by again the next morning for coffee and a grab-and-go item. Dinner: I ordered the rockfish ($35), tea ($6), house sauvignon blanc ($17), and a mezcal cocktail ($14). The ambience is lovely, but the menu is confusing. Both guests and staff seemed unsure about certain items. When I asked the server if there was anything the restaurant did exceptionally well or asked about certain items, the answers were vague. A menu redesign would help with readability and clarity. The rockfish was fine but on the bland side. The potatoes and carrots served with it were flavorful and cooked well. Portions were small but the plate was huge. I was also surprised that the house wine cost more than my cocktail, and since the menu was taken away after ordering, I didn't realize the price until the check. The mezcal cocktail was strong and tasted like straight liquor. I couldn't drink it. Breakfast: The next morning I stopped in for coffee and asked if there were any small breakfast items to go. The cashier mentioned a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. It was good, but I was surprised to see it cost $26, especially since my oat milk latte was $5. Overall: The staff was friendly, and the space is beautiful, but there's a noticeable gap between the menu clarity, food execution, and pricing. With some adjustments, the restaurant could match the quality of the hotel and area.

the Fougasse bread with aioli dipping sauce.

The ambiance was warm and inviting as we stepped into the room. We were greeted and seated by the very nice staff. We started with oysters and the leaf shaped Fougasse bread. I'm not an oysters fan, but the Fougasse bread was spectacular, especially with the aioli sauce to dip it in. For mains my wife got the Chesapeake Bouillabaisse a la Lulu, and I got the Yellowfin Tuna au Poivre. The Tuna was seared and seasoned perfectly, I could have eaten ten more fillets just like that, especially with how delicious the sauce and accoutrements were. That is a very special dish, I'll be craving more of it for the rest of our trip. My wife's Bouillabaisse was great, all of the fish were cooked tender and delicious, from what I thankfully sampled. For dessert we tried, and were delighted by the Mille-Feuille aux Poires. I dug right in to the pear brandy ice cream which was heavenly! The puff pastry was light and fluffy, and the asian pear was great in the cream sauce. Overall we really enjoyed our first time at La Jetee, our server was exceptionally attentive and we felt like old friends in her company. I highly recommend going down to the beautiful shore line in Fells Point and having a terrific meal you won't forget.

When we arrived, we were seated right away, but it seemed like there were very few staff working--possibly only one waiter. It took about 10 minutes before we finally had to flag him down just to place our order. The food then took around 25-30 minutes to come out, which felt very long since we were on a tight schedule for our flight. When the food finally arrived, I ordered the macaroni and cheese, and unfortunately it was the worst mac and cheese I've ever had. I don't want to be mean, but it was very bland and really needed salt. My sister surprisingly liked it, but it just wasn't for me at all. The rest of my family did enjoy their meals, and I thought the fries were decent, just lightly seasoned. My mom especially liked the grilled cheese. The waiter himself was nice and kept our drinks refilled, so I don't think the long wait was entirely his fault. The restaurant is very cute inside with cozy, old-style vibes and festive Christmas decorations, which I really liked. However, between the long wait times, the limited menu, and my disappointing mac and cheese, I wouldn't recommend that dish. Overall, it's a charming place, but the service was too slow for us--especially when trying to catch a flight.

Since it was New Year's eve, there were few patrons or maybe this is the usual scene? Don't know. But there are some comfy couches by the front in which a young couple with a baby was nursing. Another couple was just finishing up dinner and started to head out. We were the only two diners for about 20 minutes before another couple came in for dinner. There were also about two or three people at the bar. So basically a very quiet place. No one at the hostess stand, only a woman at the bar. She eventually sat us and took our order. Things were slow but not so slow that I would complain. I would surmise that most of the staff was off that evening. Food was also slow in coming so there might have been a small crew in the kitchen as well. We ordered the mezze appetizer. Nothing to rave about. It was just a plate with vegetables and hummus. We both got the wagyu burger and fries. The whole meal was quite decent. The meat was cooked to the correct temperature and the fries were crispy. It was quite filling for me. My friend and I shared the crispy cauliflower and tahini, which was well-fried and delicious. I also appreciated their drink offerings. My friend and I had and enjoyed a couple of glasses of Lebanese Sauvignon Blanc (from Mersel Wine). I had the Farmers Market Za'atar Salad (cucumber, shaved beet, fennel, pomegranate, pickled jalapeno, mint, fried pita, baby greens, and za'atar yogurt dressing), to which I added falafel. Unfortunately, I found the salad to be quite dry (not dressed enough and then the falafel and the pita crisps just compounded that) and served in a dish that made it quite hard to eat without spilling half the salad on the table. The service was friendly but perhaps not very attentive. I got up to ask our server for the check after waiting for a bit of time for her to make her way to us.
