FIRST TIME TASTE!!! The office was restless and needed a late afternoon pick-me-up to (hopefully) get us driven and focused. We placed an online order and a coworker went to pick it all up. I perused their website carefully so as to make my first tasting impression a promising one and decided on a Strawberry Cloud Latte. My review is based on what I have experienced myself and with their website and on my beverage solely. Their website is very bright and pretty. Loved the language of their story. How yellow is more than just a color to them. And I couldn't agree more!!! Whoever wrote the text on this site has my heart. This business aims to be kind and to be a bright light, however brief, in someone's day. I love this. They also have a reputation of hiring foster kids that age out of the system. Their stores, although similar in color scheme only, looks different from one location to another. The one at La Cantera in SATX is beautiful in its modern chic with large crystal-like chandeliers and white LED backlighting. On to my drink... I ordered the Strawberry Cloud Latte made with soy. It's an espresso (or Matcha) beverage with a strawberry flavored cold foam. Their ice cubes are a bit large and don't fit through the sippy cup lid until it's been given time to melt down. Meh. And my cold foam was not as fluffy as to be likened to a cloud by any means. But the coffee was nice and I'm so glad they had soy! Other milks include almond, nonfat, whole, oat, coconut, half n half and heavy cream. I would love to try their matcha next and sample that Carrot Cake Bar with all that cream cheese frosting!!! read more

It's exciting to finally have a La La Land in San Antonio. I've visited the Houston locations before, but the coffee there hasn't always been consistent. So far, this location hasn't disappointed. The layout can feel a bit cramped up front since the register is near the entrance while most of the seating is in the back. I usually go between 9-10 am, when there's little to no line. Closer to lunch or later in the afternoon, though, it gets significantly busier, sometimes with lines stretching outside to the road. Thankfully, drink turnaround is pretty quick. There's a decent amount of seating, but it can get loud if you're trying to get some work done or study. My go-to drinks are the La La Latte and the Strawberry Latte, and I enjoy trying their seasonal flavors. I don't usually like overly sweet drinks, and theirs do lean on the sweeter side, so I sometimes treat it more as a dessert than a coffee stop. If I'm in the mood for something stronger, I'll ask for an extra shot. While it's a bit pricier than other coffee shops, it's worth it as an occasional treat. read more

Since this became a viral trend we decided that we needed to try it out! There is typically a line out the door but we tried to get there early and luckily we didn't have to wait. The service from the employees was good, not too much interaction except the cashier. The place is cute, but not much seating inside or outside so if it's busy that is a challenge. Unfortunately we were not able to get seating inside for the four of us and had to wipe tables and chairs down outside. It got pretty busy once we had ordered but the wait wasn't too bad for our orders. The coffee is good along with the pastries, the cloud (cold foam) is super thick and very sweet! Finally made it to La La Land in San Antonio--and now I see the hype. It had only been open a few months when we went, so there was a line, but it moved pretty quickly. We all ordered what I think was the Banana Cloud (or Banana something ), and it was absolutely amazing. I added an extra shot of espresso since those drinks can lean more milkshake than coffee--and that was definitely the right move. I also had a croissant, and everything was just chef's kiss. The vibe is super cute, just like the Heights location in Houston. The staff was so sweet--complimenting everyone at the register and even saying "I love you" as you leave, which was such a fun, feel-good touch. The line was long, but we waited. I know this place just opened and the lines will die down eventually. It took about 30 min to order. I ordered the banana chai latte. It is dangerously delicious. It tastes like a milkshake. I am sure that I could have modified the drink to make it less caloric, but since they were super busy, I didn't even want to try to do so when I ordered. There's only "pay to park" but I took a chance and didn't pay because I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. They have an app where you can order ahead!! I love this place so much! Fair warning though. Since it's new to La Cantera Apple Maps doesn't really direct you to this place. And the mall directory doesn't either. The best way to get there is to keep walking past PF Changes. Just keep going straight. Then there's yellow umbrellas. That's not La La Land. It's a pizza place. But you're on the right track. Go across the street and there it is to the left. It was a little hard to find and I had to ask for help. Then someone asked me for directions when I was walking back. So hopefully this helps. And to my surprise my drinks were actually ready by 10:50. I was very impressed considering how busy inside was. The line to order was very long. The amount of people waiting was as bad. The line was busy but couldn't tell if it was because of spring break or that's just normal here. Sadly they had no gluten free pastry options for my friend. Went on a Saturday about 4 pm- line long and out the door. The outside is super inviting and the inside seems calm. The pastries looked pretty good but I passed because it was all so much sugar. I got a lala latte with one shot and it was still sooo sweet. I can see the hype- it's fun and hip- and all the things however I don't think I will return. So excited to have another coffee option at La cantera! This location is always extremely busy but they move the line as fast as they can. I love how friendly all the baristas are as well. I've come a couple of times already, during the holiday season I ordered the s'mores latte a few times and was addicted to it. So bummed it's not always on the menu. I just tried the lululemon chai collab and felt disappointed with that item. My sister and I ordered the chai squared (chai latte with chai cold foam) I got mine and it really didn't taste like chai more like milk with some spice which was super disappointing. My sister got hers and it was way too sweet the first time and the second time was better but still a bit sweet so there wasn't consistency in that drink. I had already waited for around 40 minutes between waiting to order/getting my drink made so I just took the L and left disappointed in my drink. The matcha and coffees are more consisting and are what I would order. If you don't like overly sweet coffee I also suggest to ask for one less pump of sweetness since their drinks are on the sweeter side. read more

The lines are always long which I suppose is from the online hype and area choice combination. The toast... $12 and I was a bit confused and disappointed. It was prepared differently from all the photos I've seen on yelp and was burnt. The cheese was almost like a cream cheese but placed on bottom then the avocado. Not sure why? I did return after this visit because I had a half off coffee coupon on my rewards and they couldn't figure out how to use it but honored it anyways. They were all good but the matcha chai wasn't my fave - it wasn't bad, but for my taste, I felt like it was missing something. I had such an amazing experience at La La Land, and I really have to take a moment to recognize Sherien because she truly made our visit unforgettable. From the second we walked in, her energy stood out right away--it was so positive, genuine, and welcoming. You can instantly tell when someone loves what they do, and Sherien absolutely does. La La Land already has a great ambiance, but Sherien took it to another level. Her positivity is contagious, and she has such an amazing personality that makes you feel appreciated as a customer. Anyone saying it's over hyped is just a hater. Now with that being said, I will add that this isn't your daily coffee stop kind of place. It's more of a sweat treat every once in a while kind of deal. I didn't really taste the coffee in my drink but it wasn't overly sweet in a gross way. The banana cloud latte was unlike anything I've ever tasted. I literally chugged the whole thing immediately. I can't wait to come back and try all the other specialty lattes. Yes! As a coffee lover I felt as if I was in La La Land! I waited in line for over 40 minutes to get in to the south opening. I was delighted by the clean aesthetics of the building the experience and the great taste of the coffee and pastry. Inside the establishment is decorated with soft it clean aesthetics with a beautiful yellow palette. They have plenty of merchandise and coffee beans for sale. They have apple seating area, but it is quite loud so don't expect to go there to study or work. I ordered an iced vanilla latte and an almond croissant. My total price was nine dollars and that was 50% off today so the prices are expensive but it was one of the best lattes I have had. It was the perfect blend of bitter, sweet and salty, and the almond croissant was surprisingly light and not overpowering sweet. Since this place is at La Cantera, I probably won't go too many times unless I'm going shopping in the area but they are open at 7 AM which is a plus you can get there before the crowd gets there the service was amazing, courteous, and swift, but the prices were up there I definitely I definitely will be back. After much anticipation and all the hype my wife and I decided to make the journey to La La Land Kind Cafe at La Cantera! Since we heard about it opening up in Austin, my wife and I were excited to have it now open for business here in San Antonio! We visited the cafe on a Saturday morning at 10am, to our surprise only one guest was in front of us ordering and there wasn't a long line like we imagined. The cashier taking our order was very friendly, given us suggestions and informative of all their signature coffees! I ordered the French Toast Latte iced to be precise so I can get my hands on their signature cup it comes in and my wife ordered the upside down latte hot on this cold winter morning. My latte was really good got it salted to balance with the sweetness per our cashier recommendation, hint of cinnamon and espresso made a great balanced iced coffee latte! My wife's hot upside down latte was amazing, complemented well in such a cold morning, I can't wait to try that one iced!
