So there was much hype in my office when this place opened up so I had to try it. It was cold outside and thought country potato soup and an apple turnover would be good. Man I should have just gone to safe way for the soup and grabbed some chips. Overall the soup was just meh. Definitely not worth the time I spent waiting for it. Now I'm not complaining about the service because they were working. I just needed to be patient because of the orders in front of me. That being said there is so many employees wandering around my initial impression is when there are 4 or more orders waiting for take out why can't someone help get them out. Anyway back to the soup. Overall the taste was meh, easily forgetable. The apple turnover was good but again not worth the wait. To be fair the taste could have been ruined by the potato soup. The apple turnover actually gave them an extra star. I can see myself going back for more deserts. They did look good in the case. As of now good luck with parking. The lot was full. read more

I walked in not knowing what to expect, the set up was confusing at first but then, I asked someone who worked there how things are set up and she walked me thru. It's like going to a cafeteria to eat, since you are to walk down the line with a tray....super cute! I personally didn't think that the portions were enough for the price that they charge. The slices of cakes are too small!! I paid $4.99 (Coconut cake) for what appeared to be half of a half slice! Disappointing!! I am pleased to have a French cafe in the Chandler neighborhood. The theme and decorations reminds you of the classic French country. This location just opened last week, as expected, the lines were long and the parking lot was packed. The food and customer service was worth the wait. They had three managers on the floor welcoming customers and helping the new staff. The dine in line was backed up, because they one person taking your order via an iPad. Also, new customers were undecided what to order. The take out line was shorter and more convenient. You could order from the take out menu or through the app. The app I found very intuitive. I ordered dinner for take out: the cream of mushroom soup, cranberry chicken salad and creme brûlée cheesecake. The flavor was spot on and portion was reasonable for the price. I came back for breakfast and had the bacon egg and cheese croissant with coffee. The croissant was flaky soft and buttery. The two factors that impacted the 5 stars was the minor mistakes with my orders. They had trouble retrieving customer orders from the app and forgot to pack my dessert. The staff and managers were quick to step in and resolve the issue. They also gave me a free dessert for my inconvenience. I am confident they will smooth out the kinks and establish a rhythm. Simply delicious! At 11:40 already had a line to the door. Worth noting that the right side is for pick up/takeout delivery and the left side is a buffet line. A gentleman handed out menus as we stood in line to order. Some items (ie soup and salad) was on the buffet and other items like the pasta came direct from kitchen to our table. If you want a French-American experience, this place is super! I typically order the trio with the soup, 1/2 quiche and salad - very good! The French onion soup is delish and the quiche, well, might as well get the whole thing, so good. The lattes are also tasty. I like this place b/c you order at the counter and find a spot to sit, they have lots of seating available, which is really great for a breakfast/brunch with friends. Prices are reasonable, service great and food is yum! Also, if you want to pick up a little French, make sure you use the restrooms...you'll come out at least with a word or 2 of French ;) read more

I have been going very often to this location....I used to really enjoy it. In the last few months...it's been really less enjoyable.... The decaf coffee is cold or not existent.... the entrees are cold or barely warm....the side salad I was served last time would not feed a bird.... And when I complained to the cashier...he just told me "I have nothing to do with the issue"...I should have asked for the manager.... So disappointed by this downward trend.... I ordered a caramel macchiato as well, for $6 it had no flavor and hardly any caramel drizzle - oh and it's extra for whip cream. I LOVE THIS PLACE! We needed to have a quick breakfast meeting and a colleague suggested La Madeline. The 4 of us ordered an array of sweet and savory dishes from their breakfast menu, which has such unique and wonderful choices. Each dish was beyond delicious. The restaurant is brand new and immaculately clean. The service was friendly and efficient. I highly recommend the Linzer cookies! What a treat! Tried this place for the first time this week. I thought it was a bakery only but it turns out it is kind of like a Panera. They offer some French baked goods along with a menu full of French sandwiches, soups, salads, croquettes, etc. The restaurant has some French architecture inside and French decor, nice ambiance. Average prices. We were the only people in the half our we were there, it took almost 15 mins just for the 2 sandwiches and chips I thought it was a bit long for us being the only ones but I'll have to try again and see. read more

Unfortunately I forgot my camera or that would have told the story. Decided to get the combination meal with 1/2 quiche Lorraine, tomato bisque and upgraded to strawberries Romanoff. After waiting quite awhile I went up to the counter and it was sitting there with a few other order just waiting. The restaurant was not busy but maybe they were short staffed. I said I would take it but a young gentleman then brought it to my table . It had less than 1/2 of a quiche (someone got the generous other half ) , a cup of thick tart tomato soup and some very nice strawberries with pencil thin squiggles of the Romanoff sauce on the top berries only.. I just checked the photo online to remind myself of what it should look like: oh those were the days at the Scottsdale Fashion Square when it all was so good and so generous! Like I said I wish I could have taken a photo. Almost $18 with a tip. I had to go back and got some sourdough bread with butter and jelly . Throw some snow outside and 32 degrees and it's like a little French bakery/restaurant here in Chandler. :-) But seriously this was our first time and my wife and I loved it. She had the French Doo and I had the breakfast croissant. Side of the potatoes (forgot their French name). And their $5 Mimosa! All very flavorful and recommend each. Cute bread station too with two sauce toppings: strawberry rhubarb and Blackberry- Yum! Highly recommend for a good French stop when hungry. Plenty of seating inside and out and parking is hard to find on the weekend. You order at the register and they bring your food out to you. You get your own drinks though. They also have free bread, butter and jam. Wife ordered the Pasta La Madeleine and I ordered the American breakfast (2 eggs, bacon or sausage and butter croissant). Both meals were tasty. Not a good experience! Coffee was strong and bitter. To top it off we had to wait 15 minutes for them to brew a new pot. I had to bring it to their attention. I ordered the French dip, the sandwich was loaded with horseradish, it was dripping out the sides. I don't know what kind of beef came with the sandwich but it wasn't prime rib. After narrowing our choices for a special Mother's Day brunch, we were excited to try out the new La Madeleine's down the street in Chandler. The decor is really cute, but that is unfortunately the only good thing about our experience. The cafe was a bit busy because of the holiday, but there were plenty of empty tables. It took repeated contacts with the grumpy lady that was bussing tables before she would clear our table, then we had to ask again for her to come back and wipe it down. My sister later went to drop off dirty plates and this same lady proceeded to berate her in front of other customers for doing so. As we were ordering, a lady next to us in line became very upset saying she ordered over 45 minutes ago, and was now being told her item was sold out! The lady started crying and the manager had to go to her table to calm her down. We ordered our food and then waited over 45 minutes for it to arrive. The entire time, we watched the wait staff wandering around trying to figure out where other orders were supposed to be delivered, or standing in a crowd by the cash registers looking confused. When our food finally arrived, it was missing half our order so we had to wait another 10 minutes for the rest. My son's waffle from the kids menu was smaller than his fist, stone cold, and rock hard. Even with syrup it was nearly inedible. My tomato soup was very acidic, my sisters croissant French toast was dark brown and over cooked, and my mom's chicken dish was severely lacking in flavor. We left the restaurant very disappointed and disillusioned. We went in with high hopes but vow never to return! read more

This place is so far from a French Cafe. It's a typical corporate electronic food chain posting as a French restaurant. French dip? How about a very heavy and hard almost sourdough roll? I mean.. lol.. what kind of french restaurant serves the wrong bread on a signature dish? Carmalized onions? I cringe to think about what a real French cook would say about this monstrosity posing as a 12 dollar french dip. Last advice on the dip.. please use just a little more beef because with that heavy of a bread, the ratio was way off.. I paid extra for my side item to be upgraded to soup and I chose French onion. Another electronic premade monstrosity posing as soup this time. My god, please lord help this place fix their French onion soup! Non edible, electronic beef base broth packed FULL of onions.. no toast or cheese..oh wait. That's what that little baggie with a slice of bread and grated cheese was.. I couldn't figure that out until just now. I ate all the beef, half the bread from the sandwich, and none of the soup.. over twelve bucks later I am still hungry. One of our top breakfast restaurants so far. We had the French Breakfast with French potatoes and scrambled eggs. My wife said her scrambled eggs were the best ever. I visited this place as I was staying pretty close to it during a trip. The place is pretty from inside and spacious. The staff is very nice and let me take time to decide the order while explaining all options available. I ordered the pesto tomato mozarella sandwich and mocha. The pesto mozarella sandwich was really good. The pesto seemed really fresh and mozarella just enhanced the flavor. Mocha on the other hand was okay. I had asked just for a pump of chocolate however the coffee was too sweet and not warm enough. Overall it was good to have a coffee shop close by with decent food. read more

I never understand the setup this cafe has to order food. You stand in line to place your order, they give you a buzzer with your number and move to the counter to pay for your order. Also how do you run out of cinnamon french toast? It's a cafe and toast should be the last thing you run out. Very strange! With all this technology while ordering, they still messed up my wife's order. She had ordered a sandwich (without cheese) and salad. What she got was a sandwich which had cheese and a tomato soup! The ambiance was OK. The service was OK (you order at the counter and they bring it to you). The small number of french pastries seemed weird for a place that has bakery in it's name. The contents of the fruit cup weren't exciting so I passed on that. As soon as they delivered my plate, the disappointment began. It wasn't pretty. Isn't French food always pretty?
