La Madeleine

La madeleine My favorite store for desserts. Their minis are so yummy and fresh, they are perfect size and calories- like the kind if calories you want to indulge in without guilt. I always get atleast one of the fruit tart. It has been so long that they have even changed the design, increased the size and increased the price- ah well, its still worth it. Today, tried the macaroons. They cost $12 and come 6 in a tiny box. The box looks so cute and its so tiny, it will easily fit in ur purse or your jacket pocket if u want to sneak it into a cinema hall or something (Disclaimer: these activities are subject to risks of being caught ;)) They were just delicious. They had exactly six flavors- raspberry, lemon, chocolate, caramel, coffee and vanilla. Each was sooo melt in the mouth. Yummm. Am coming back for more...

Wood roach by the dishes

terrible environment. rude management, very unprofessional! they over charge for soup & give you less than the full portion that's supposed to be served. they pastry case is never fully stocked when i go there. plus roaches roam the dining area and behind the counter near the soup station!! would not recommend dining in.

Fruit tart rancid
Monica T.

I have never reviewed a restaurant, but this place has disappointed countless times and I couldn't keep quiet. I keep going because my kid used to like their sandwiches. The fruit tart had strawberries that were black and you couldn't pick the tart up because it fell apart; it was so rancid and soggy. I was told by the visiting manager that the bread they used for sandwiches had been changed from the supplier and they hadn't received a delivery. Our sandwiches were not made from baguettes that you would expect, they crumbled into a powdery mess upon touching it. I didn't try the French onion soup but when I previously visited 2weeks ago it was sour. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but this is unacceptable. Even the workers knew the food was awful. I heard them commenting in the background when I returned my order.

Chicken la Madeleine: what hapoened? 4 pcs of chicken? Really?

We always buy our quick meal from here but this is not what it used to be. What happened? 4 pieces of chicken? Really?

LaTosha S.

The restaurant was not crowded when we arrived. The person that took our order was friendly and helpful and answered the questions that we had. We easily found a booth and our food was served within minutes. We ordered kids pizza, four cheese grilled cheese, pesto pasta, tomato soup, chicken Riveira, Nutella and strawberry crepes, and lemonades. All of the food was exceptionally good. The food was fresh, prepared well, and very tasty. The avocado in the chicken Riveira sandwich was more than sufficient and the four grilled cheese sandwich was amazing. The crepe was a new item on the menu and it was great for dessert! I will be visiting again.

Shamya is so rude and mean to the customers. She should not be in the front if she doesn't want to help people.

I didn't have to ask for my first refill as the waitress recognized my thirst when I ordered the drink. My food did not disappoint. Another thing I have come to expect from this restaurant. The City Grits were fantastic! Using Gouda cheese with bacon, tomato and green onions as toppings. I opted not to get tomatoes and personally would have like about half as much green onions. But who doesn't love bacon! Hash browns instead of an English muffin and chopped ham instead of Canadian bacon made a special breakfast better. The eggs were poached to perfection. The staff appear to be happy working at this particular restaurant and I observed them working with each other as a team first.

I called the restaurant to politely ask what might be causing the issue, as I wanted to better understand why it keeps happening. Javi, who answered the phone, was friendly and understanding. Another employee from the bar area also spoke with me and was very kind. She explained that she had not bagged the order. When the manager got on the phone, I explained that I had already discussed the situation with two employees. His response was, "This is the first time I'm hearing about this. You're too far away, so I don't have anyone to drive the gravy to you. I can't give you the gravy. What would you like me to do?" The tone came across as annoyed and dismissive. I let him know that I was already planning to dispute the missing item through Uber Eats, but that I was calling because I wanted to understand why this issue keeps occurring. There was no offer for me to pick up the missing gravy or any meaningful attempt to resolve the situation beyond saying he would speak with the staff. What surprised me most was the contrast between the helpfulness of the employees and the manager's attitude. The staff members were courteous and understanding, while the manager seemed to assume I was exaggerating or making up the issue. Unfortunately, because of both the repeated order mistakes and the poor customer service from management, I won't be ordering from here again.

When this playe came to the table- I should have sent it back.... The black beans were room temp and had zero flavor- i think that's where the extra liquid came from. I asked for my egg over medium- did NOT get that. The chips and sauce itself were ok..... OOOO my goodness - my 4th of July started off with a bang when I found Red Oak Café in League City,…read moreTx!!!! The place was packed and there was a line of people waiting - I knew that was a good sign! The line moved fast and the staff were like worker bees - everybody getting the tables cleaned, people seated and orders taken with in minutes of sitting down. Mary the Manager never missed a beat - she was making it all happen and made it look effortless - with a smile on her face. Our server SAL was top notch, explained everything on the menu that I drilled him about - really painted a picture of what the items was all about, helped me with making a selection! Give that kid a Gold Star - he is my server for life at Red OAK. He took care of us with a smile and quick service, what a shining star they got when they hired him! Now for the food - mercy is all I can say - the biscuits were out of this world - flaky, fluffy and fabulous! I got the Breakfast special and everything on the plate was perfect - the bacon was nice and crisp, hash browns were golden and egg really over easy - cooked to perfection. THE Pancakes - eyes rolling back in head - the biggest, fluffy golden brown things you have every seen and the syrup came in a glass carafe that warm syrup was an extra special touch. The coffee was their own brand and the flavors were Pecan and Cinnamon, very smooth, and very hot and refilled often. Do yourself a favor and go to Red Oak Cafe in League City on Main Street and ask for Sal and get ready for a great expericence and excellent food and service! I live in Woodlands Tx and will drive 60 miles again to eat at this place!

The food tasted okay, but it definitely lacked spices and in my opinion needs some TLC. One menu item that caught my attention was the Grown-Up Grilled Cheese: three types of cheeses, Granny Smith apple slices, bacon slices, and sourdough bread. Now I thought that the apple slices come on the side right? Nope, they were cooked in the sandwich. I don't know who came up with the concept of adding the apples into the sandwich, but whatever; I've tasted weirder things. Still, the sandwich didn't taste bad; that's just a weird concept in my opinion. The worst part of our service was the server. She didn't exactly introduce herself, but she did ask how we were with an apathetic tone. Like I said, she didn't tell us her name. Only way I can describe her is she wore eyeliner, red lipstick, and her blonde hair in a clip. During our visit to the restaurant, she just seemed like she hated her job and was emotionally constipated. When I wanted to substitute a side order of white chicken chili with the Grown-Up grilled cheese (I knew there would be an upcharge), she told me in a somewhat aggravated voice that there would be an upcharge. I told her calmly that I understood as the menu had specified. The only time she came by was to ask if we were done with our plates or needed a coffee refill, but not on how the food tasted. But yes, our server was probably the worst part of our visit. I've met Russians who were less cold than our server. I probably won't return unless the server gets an attitude adjustment or just leaves.

She was awesome. Everyone loved their food. I had the Big Breakfast again and had the same banana pecan pancakes I ordered during my last visit but this time I got jalapeno bacon as my protein and hashbrowns instead of grits. The bacon was SO GOOD and was full of jalapeno flavor but minus the spice. I could've eaten a couple more slices of that goodness. It was crispy, a tad bit burnt but again it was so good. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. I also made sure to get plenty of strawberry butter this time and I slathered it all over my pancake and biscuit. The kiddos had child's plates that included two mini pancakes, eggs and a choice of protein. My cousin had a hash that looked incredible and she said it was very tasty. I'll have to try it out one day if I can ever break myself away from the pancakes. Just like last time the amibiance was warm, cozy, family friendly and Christian themed.
