This is a pay at the cash register and they bring your order place. You must visit the fountain area to get your drink, silverware, napkins, and bread. The boeuf borginion was delicious. Beef, carrots, peas, delicious pearl onions in a wonderful sauce served over mash potatoes. Sometimes you don't get quite enough sauce. The mini fruit tart was great. This will be the second disappointing experience here. I brought my Mom to lunch here. We both ordered the sampler. Now I know the portion sizes on the sampler aren't too crazy big, however, these portion sizes made me wish I had gone to Red Robyn next door. I ordered the chicken salad, the Cesar salad, and tomato soup. The salad wasn't even a handful, was under dressed and did not look fresh. The chicken salad was at most two spoonfuls. I'm surprised the soup cup was actually filled all the way up. I mentioned to the staff member that dropped off our trays that the portion sizes appeared small. Hoping it was just an oversight, but I had to wait 20 min for a Spinach Pochette (puff pastry) that I believe was pre-made and just needed to be warmed. There was no line in the kitchen as it was 2pm when I ordered. People who came in after me got their food before me. I was given a pager which never rang. When a staff was clearing a nearby table I asked if the pager is supposed to go off and he said someone would bring the order to the table -- so what's the purpose of the pager? read more

When we got here there was a line of about 6 people ahead of us. Only one register was open. The four people in front of us were a family visiting the restaurant for the first time. They spent quite a bit of time at the register asking questions, while trying to decide what to order. There were several workers wandering around behind the counter and two workers sitting at a table taking a break. I don't know why the manager didn't have someone open the other register. After we finally got to order and received our food, I noticed another line building. It got up to 9 people and still only one register was open. The food was good as usual, but once again the service was below par. My lunch partner ordered her food before I ordered mine and her order was less complicated, but her food came about 5 minutes later than mine. The service was so bad I had to request to speak to the manager and get a refund. I came here with my daughter on a beautiful shopping day. When we entered we were greeted by the cashier but after that it went downhill for many reasons: - ordered the duet sandwich and soup. Politely asked "may I have my soup before the sandwich?" No it confuses the cooks! Not sure why since the cashier fixes the soups and cooks prep my sandwich. Most locations do this and they have honored it here before. Plus her tone was not customer friendly. - bread and jelly station look unkept. - Few clean tables can be found. They wait it seems until an entire section is dirty before bussing the area. It is off putting with so many dirty tables. You can only maybe pick one or two tables for a whole restaurant. - I was sitting in area that gave me a perfect view of the cashier station. I can see my food is done. She takes it from under the warming lamps and places it on the counter. The food is just sitting there...no runners nothing... I go up and ask how much longer until it's ready? Cashiers response it will be ready shortly. Thinking that maybe something my daughter ordered is not ready I go sit. Mind you my warm toasted sandwich is cooling they do not add anything to the tray but are still not delivering it!!!!! At this point I'm pissed. I tell her I need to speak to the manager. I express all my concerns and he is very cordial but he has been in the back unaware that his staff is incompetent. He gave me a refund and two gift cards, which was very nice; however I would have preferred to have received my meal with friendly service. I try not to complain unless service is atrocious and this Lamadeline takes the cake. I have been to this location 3 times. Skip it go to their Meyerland, Rice Village, Baybrook location instead. The food was terrible. Overcooked eggs and quinoa. I had Parisian eggs and potato patty. Eggs were ordered basted lightly. The confirmed with the cook and he said he could do it. Eggs were cooked through hard and Hollandaise was cold over the top of an over toasted croissant. Fatty bacon and thin sliced ham that looked like sliced lunchmeat. Awful. My wife ordered quinoa and kale salad. The picture looked good. The salad was bland with overcooked quinoa with hardly any tomatoes. This place scores below most fast food breakfast joints. Dear god this is the craziest La Madeleine location I have been to yet. I stopped in on a Sunday late afternoon to grab a lunch to go, and it was packed. The line was almost out the door, but that wasn't even the worst part. After placing my order, it was easily a thirty minute wait for my food - the Cordon Bleu pasta, a good dish but in no way worth a thirty-plus minute wait. In addition, I had to keep checking on my food, as no waiter manning the to-go station checked in with the handful of people waiting on their to-go orders. The kitchen seemed to be hustling, but everyone seemed to suffer the same fate of waiting an extremely long time for food. I don't know if they need to streamline their service or what, but the downtown La Madeleine never seemed to have this problem, even on the occasions when I stopped in and it was very busy. Their food is good, kind of a Panera with a French twist, for those who have never eaten there. The sandwiches and salads are all good, and the breakfast is delicious. Definitely try the Cordon Bleu pasta, very flavorful and rich without being greasy or heavy-feeling. I recommend their food, but if you do decide to visit the Pearland location, be forewarned that you may be in for a rather extreme wait. read more

While it may offer a relatively deep menu of entrees, bakery items, and snacks, La Madeleine just doesn't hit a home run for me regardless of how many times I give it a shot. Their breakfast quiches, notably the Egg and Spinach quiche and the Spinach & artichoke friand, are among their standout offerings. On the other hand, the entrees are alright but nothing to write home about. I tried Pasta La Madeleine (mushroom sauce, broccoli, and diced tomatoes with bow tie pasta) with shrimp and felt it was a bit bland but to give credit where it's due, the Pesto Pasta with virtually the same ingredients (sans broccoli and wild mushroom sauce) certainly fared better in terms of flavor. The salmon with lentils is probably the entree to go with if you're looking for a fulfilling dose of protein and it has a refreshing soupy broth to go along. Speaking of soups, the Tomato Bisque and the Wild Mushroom are my favorites while my wife vouches for the French Onion as well. The bakery items are more or less standard, much like Panera Bread. The croissants are fresh and buttery while the breads carry a freshly baked vibe as well. But that's about the scope of my bakery expertise as I am not a dessert eater. read more

I've only dined twice at this location and I had a great experience each time. My first experience was for a meeting and we used their group dining room. There was a $50 fee that was waived once we all ordered $50 in food. That was easy. The room was clean, separated from the restaurant by a sliding wood door, and included plenty of tables and chairs. I ordered my favorite tomato basil soul and a chicken pesto sandwich. Both items were as delicious as I remember from over the years. The staff was nice and friendly. I dined alone for breakfast on my second visit. It wasn't little crowded and they were a little slow with cleaning tables on this day. However, I found a spot at a high top bistro table and I was fine. I'm sure I will return for a quick meal in the future. read more

Food at the Pearland location is decent. But there are some things here I noticed today that made me upset. 1. Water from soda fountain tasted like fruit punch, I'm guessing nozzles needed to be cleaned. 2. Utensils were stored handle side down. Meaning if I wanted a soup spoon I had to grab by part you would put in your mouth! 3. Half the restaurant was closed off although there were 4 tables yet to be cleaned off and bused. This place has lost a customer... This location was one of my favorite go to spots, especially on a Sunday afternoon. Sadly customer service makes that no longer the case. Back in September I had a huge order totaling about 80 bucks and I went too pick it up. Only to arrive home and find both crepes ordered had no gruyere cheese sauce (I ordered extra) and they messed up a French toast croissant. I called to make them aware of the problem and the manager at the time was really nice and said come back anytime and we will replace the order and put my name down she also she also said it didn't expire. No big deal except when I called in early December I mentioned this and was given to a manager and she pulled my name and verified the order and I told her what I would like to replace. She asked who the manager was no receipt on me at the moment but she verified everything I would think she could see it in front of her but no big deal until she places me on hold and comes back responding rudely saying I spoke with the GM Brian and we won't replace the order! (Not one thing in the order). I am not an unreasonable person but instead of going and looking and finding this receipt to replace the order (not sure they would even replace it if I did) I will just never go back nor will I recommend them any longer. I wasn't told to remember the name of the manager and when I asked this rude "manager" how she knew my order and was able to verify it. She initially said "yes I see that here" she said curtly we can look up any order or transaction someone has but I don't see where we messed up the order. Huh? If a company is willing to go to these lengths not to fix a wrong I don't need to spend my money with that company or location. This la Madeleine is always so cold that the outside area is often full even on hot days. When asked to turn the AC down, I am not sure that they do it as the temp seems to stay the same. I had the chicken pasta and was disappointed with about 3 small pieces of chicken, not nearly enough for the over $10 price. Spoke to the manager and they brought out a much better version - but would have been better to start with this, right? I hope they will not be skimpy on the meat the next time I go back. If they do - then I'll downgrade to a 2 star. My wife's chicken salad was much better and had plenty of chicken, good job. Terrible opening! I have been here three times since it has opened and they are always out of stuff. Last week they were out of eating utensils and it was not even crowed. Also, the food is cold once you do get it. I would suggest that you wait a while before trying this location. If you decide to go don't get your hopes up on having your favorite meal because it is likely they will not have it because they have "run out". They should just make a list of things they are serving that day instead of handing you a menu because most of the popular items are unavailable. read more

When I crave pasta, I come here! My favorite is pasta la madeleine. It's December, so they have a beautiful white medium Christmas tree inside and the tabling is very pretty too! I love La Madeline, the River Oaks, Cypress, and The Woodlands locations never disappoint, unfortunately the Pearland location does not live up to expectations. This is my second visit and both times were a disappointment. I understand that they are new and may still be experiencing growing pains, especially since the set-up is horrible compared to other locations, but that is no excuse for soup and salad to take 45 minutes. Especially when the soup is pre-prepared, then delivered cold! I will continue to visit other locations and purchase the soup to prepare at home but I will not be re-visiting this location which is unfortunate since I work nearby. read more
