The food was great! Six of us stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night. The fresh pita bread, warm and soft, was a treat with the yummy garlic sauce. So good! We had the spicy hummus with veges for the table and it disappeared. I ordered my favorite, lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection, medium rare! My only complaint, we were seated at a table that had a less than desirable view of the back of the restaurant. I just don't want to look at the service area while I am enjoying my meal! Love it here!!! Best garlic spread I've ever had. They are always offering great deals. It's become a family favorite because you can get a good variety and it's reasonably priced. I gave them a second chance because my buddy wanted to try them and see if they were as bad as I had said. He didn't like his falafel to my surprise. I tried it and agreed it wasn't good...some sort of chemical-ish taste. I had a sandwich that was bearable to eat this time. Our server was polite and very efficient, the food was plentiful and tasty, I had the chicken galabba on a bed of hummus, my husband had the lamb combo platter. First of all this used to be my absolutely favorite restaurant. We would eat here at least once a week. The fresh Bread is a wonderful and the salad is so fresh too. I have absolutely loved their shish kebabs cooked on the grill. The homemade garlic sauce is to die for. The reason for two stars is because the last time I was there we got rotten meat. I can't believe my husband eat it and then said try this it taste really funny. I took a bite of it and almost threw up. It was rotten!! So we call the waiter over and he says "oh yeah we've been having trouble with the fridge" must have been put in the wrong spot. Then walks away. I watched servers talking, cleaning flatware, standing around waiting for the dinner crowd... nobody came, I left. Ordered from this place for the first time tonight. Intentionally ordered before 5:00 as I knew it would get busy. Was told order would be delivered between 5:50 and 6:10. Called at 6:30 to try to find out order status. Was put on hold for HALF AN HOUR!!! When someone finally came back on they acted like they hadn't had me on hold for half an hour. I again asked the status of my order as it was now over an hour late. I was told that a bunch of orders had just gone out for delivery and mine was one of them. This is 2 hours after placing my order. Waited another half an hour-still no food. Finally 3 hours after placing my order, 2 hours after expected delivery time I contacted GrubHub and cancelled my order. When I did talk to someone at the restaurant they acted like they could not have cared less that a customer had been kept waiting for so long. Quite frankly, I don't think they ever did actually prepare my order and they were just blowing me off. This was the first and last time I will order from this place. Such an epic fail with no concern from the restaurant. Really wanted to try something different and healthy. Guess it's just fortunate that Brighton has so many other places to eat. read more

Attempted to get take out for Mother's Day. It was the worst experience at at restaurant ever. Ordered at 5:00 PM told to pick up at 6:10 PM. When I got there line to pick up out the door after 5 minutes a guy leaves with take out and says his wait was one hour longer than told. I wait in line they come out and take everyone name in line in case they call name and you are not in the building. After one hour in line I make it to the counter to check on order. The guy goes to a table and pick up my order, this is the table I have seen them placing order that people have stopped waiting for. Ask how long it has been on the table manager says it is cold, you can have half off. Tell him I do not want it. What will he do for me. Says on next order state that I was part of Mother's Day Fiasco and I can have two free chicken entrees. Tell him my experience is worst then most. Says that is all he can do as he has to stay in business. Also, noticed when kitchen door opens almost all of the kitchen staff is mask-less. So disappointed. I was a walk in customer for an appetizer and cup of soup. I waited 35 minutes after I was told by the hostess that it would be a 15 minute wait. . When I inquired about my order I was told that it goes in the line with the other call in orders. There were family's who came in after I placed my order that had been seated and we're already eating their soup and bread. I have been in the restaurant business. If you have a paid customer in the lobby their order is a bit more urgent than those who have called in and need to drive in for pick up. I requested my money back and will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. The moral of the story is call ahead with your order. Don't make an impromptu decision to have La Marsa for dinner unless you have more than 35 minutes to burn. read more

I called and spoke to the manager at La Marsa on 4/14/21 to let them know that the night before when we ordered the bread was extremely salty inedible and the rice was undercooked (hard) instead of apologizing and listening to my complain he argued that no one else complained about either. What is worst is that it was late night when I arrived home to have dinner they were already closed and by the time I got off of work it was 5pm next day. Terrible service thumbs down! Got take out for dinner here. When I got here the young girl at the front went back and started talking to this guy, 4 mins later she came up and asked how she could help me. I told her my name on my order and she pulls it up and I pay for it. She goes back and talks the guy again and then comes up to the counter and then goes to look for my order grabs the bag and goes to talk to the guy again. What should of taken me 5mins to get my order took 20mins. When I get home its the wrong order and I call up to la marsa and she argued with me that it was my correct order and hung up on me. When at work you are here to do your job and not flirt with guys and because you know you messed up and didn't want to get it trouble you messed up my dinner plans. read more

Really really disappointed. We are here visiting from California. My family is all in the Brighton area. My elderly mother in particular loves the food here. Tonight to start we had an exceptionally rude waiter who really set the tone for the entire meal. Showed annoyance when he had to come back 3 times to allow us to make our choices. (Large menu and we hadn't been there before). All in all appalling service for what ended up being very mediocre meal. At the end of the meal our waiter suddenly turned on the charm I'm guessing to salvage his tip. What an absolute jerk. Would never return. read more

Excellent food, relaxing atmosphere, great wait staff! My first time here and the waitress have me a good selection of local favorites and most popular items. She was very welcoming to me as I had informed her it was my first time here. The food was so delicious and plenty of it for the price! I ordered the combo of fatoosh, tawook with lemon/oregano sauce, and kafta. You get two sides and I chose a fatoosh salad and pita/hummus. They make the pita in house in a firing oven that is cool to watch. There is a fireplace inside and nice music playing. They do not serve alcohol which didn't bother me at all. I live an hour and a half away and would definitely come back! Oh and manager informed me they have a buffet on the first Mon and Tues of each month so you can try a bit of everything. read more

First time eating at a Mediterranean restaurant. We met up with a couple of friends who had eaten here before and said we would love it - and we did. The food was delicious and our waitress was delightful. The manager came over to help us newbees choose something from the very extensive menu. He was very friendly and came back around a couple of times to make sure everything was to our liking. The baklava was the perfect ending to the meal. My cardiologist recommended the Mediterranean diet and ifLa Marsa is any indication, this will be one diet I will enjoy. I do fear however that the real diet probably won't allow too much baklava. read more

We enjoyed our 12/2015 visit. We ordered the Sampler Platter for 2, including 4 sides (we got rice pilaf with almonds, grilled vegetables, and two bowls of lentil soup). It was a great value, a lot of tasty food, especially after filling up on the complimentary flat bread and garlic. We all agreed that all four of us could have shared it. We got a few more meals from our leftovers. I hope to make it back on future trips to Michigan. Our waitress seemed a bit flaky. We had to ask for our menus, and it would have been nice for her to point out what the different items in the Sampler Platter were. But that's pretty minor. read more

The "part owner" called the entire staff over when my wife picked up a door dash order. He then proceeded to berate her in front of the entire staff and in front of other customers for using Doordash to place the order because "doordash takes all of their money". Businesses choose to be on Doordash, if they don't like how the program works, they shouldn't work with them. In no way whatsoever does this have anything to do with the end consumer. My wife was extremely embarrassed. We've ordered here many times before but I will never give la marsa Brighton another cent. I used to be a huge fan, but now the food and service is very mediocre. I say this because last few times i have had a brown salad 80% of the time.
