With such lackluster options for middle Eastern food in Ann Arbor, we are happy to make the trek to Brighton for this place. Perfect hummus, awesome lentil soup, a huge variety of veggies if you order the veggies and hummus, and the fattoush tawook had some of the most moist and well marinated chicken we've ever had. I really like kibbee nayee, and this is the only place I've found in the last few years that cooks their burgel wheat for long enough to not break my teeth. We've only eaten here about five times, but we've never had anything but stellar service. Oh! Also it is very well lit with huge windows, and it seems quite clean. This is my 2nd visit to La Marsa restaurant. Both times were a supurb visit. First visit I tried the Tawook sandwich and it was so flavorful....and the homemade pita bread...total yum...not to mention the garlic sauce. Its heavy garlic tasting with a small bite of jalapeno--perfect! My 2nd visit I was priviledged to have Narine wait on me. She is every definition of a waitress with a "can-do-attitude"! I left feeling satisfied with my tawook kabobs, lentil soup, grilled veggies...and my topper was her above and beyond service. To the owners: She is definately an asset to your fabulous restaurant. We ordered the falafel for an appetizer. Very good! For entrees we had a shish tawook sandwich and a Greek tawook salad. The salad had great flavor and just the right amount of dressing. The sandwich was good as well. When the manager came around to ask how our meal was we had asked about the sandwich being a little dry. He then told us we could order any sandwich with any additions to it. It's custom to whatever the customer would like, he then brought us out samples of a few other meats to try with more flavor. This is my favorite restaurant of all time. The staff is all very friendly and will do their absolute best to accommodate you, whether you're in a big group, or on a special diet. We visit often and they always recognize us and take the time to talk to us and make us feel welcome. A very nice and cozy family environment full of great people. The food is delicious, and the bread is amazing. We eat in and have also done carry-out, and both services are excellent. Our favorite Middle Eastern restaurant. It may be kind of pricey so we reserve it for special occasions but always hits the spot. Their hummus with lamb is my wife's "death row meal".
