Our go-to local Mediterranean place. Take out is usually ready in about 25 minutes. Although the fine-in atmosphere here isn't amazing, the staff are always friendly and polite. No, what draws us back time and again is the food. I have tried so many things off the beaten track of delicious chicken schwarmas, falafel wraps and fattoush salads here. For instance the koshary with lamb is filling comfort food at its best. We also love the lamb koftas. And my current favorite is the lamb chili ordered with rice as a side then mixed together (guess I must like lamb, huh?)The pita bread and garlic sauce is always hot and fresh. The only thing I think they could improve on is their roasted veggies which are too al dente. But give this place a try, they are definitely worth it. read more

Food was OK, but the wait staff was so rude that it made the whole experience awkward. The waitress introduced herself shortly, took drink orders and left without a word. When arriving with our appetizers, she brought meat versions of the vegetarian food ordered. We finally flagged her down, we told her that the food was wrong. She just said "oh." Took it, and left with out another word again. When we did get the correct food, it was ice cold in the middle. When she told her, she took it without saying a word. After an Iraqi takeout spot in South Lyon closed, I thought I had lost all my nearby options for real tabbouli, baba ghanouj, and hummus. (Still no luck with finding Jajik.) After trying this location several times for dine-in and take-out, it has become one of my faves. Love love love this place they are very accommodating their chicken salad is absolutely amazing along with their dressing they give you a ton of bread with either hummus or the garlic paste either way there's Shawarma's are great I personally get the shish tawook which is actually just white meat on skewers but it is very very tasty which actually goes on the salad I mentioned earlier very good and that we had even had it delivered and it's still perfectly wonderful hot and like I said a very accommodating people I I really enjoy the food very much. read more

Great food. Friendly staff. I came here with my partner the day after 4th of July. The restaurant was operating at half capacity and taking carry out orders. The staff did their best to move fast and well. The manager is a character. Very charismatic. I like going to a place where the food and staff quality both deliver - they did. I'd highly recommend. My update: I ordered via Yelp which told me to be there for pickup at 6:33pm. I walked through the door on a very un-busy Monday evening to be told that my order was never pulled from the fax machine. On said order I specifically wrote "no bread, please provide cutlery" as one of the owners previously wrote to me to tell me that they don't do that unless requested. So after 20 minutes I was presented with my takeout bag, knotted closed and I made the dire mistake of returning to the hotel thinking that my requests would be honored. I can't believe I've never done a review for this place before. I've been here many times! I cannot say enough about the wonderful service and the incredible food with nothing but the healthiest and freshest ingredients! they are always willing to work with my dietary needs (I just ask for a sliced celery instead of bread), but to be honest, I can order almost anything on the menu and be fine on my new healthy lifestyle because they use nothing but the finest extra-virgin olive oil that they get from their homeland. In fact, I have bought bottles of it from them and this last time, they sold me a giant metal container of it. LOL! yelp offered me a free smoothie this time and it was absolutely delicious! I can't have sugar or honey (They make all of their smoothies with honey instead of sugar which is awesome!), so he made me a fresh squeezed lemonade by adding an apple and a beet and it was tart but absolutely delicious! I usually always get hummus with either lamb or chicken and sometimes the lentil soup which is amazing! But this time, I wanted to try something different so I tried the moussaka which was wonderful! it came with two sides so I got the sautéed veggies which were carrots and zucchini and then I got a spinach salad for a dollar extra. The spinach salad was so fresh and so delicious! They obviously use homegrown tomatoes because they were dark red and delicious! (I can't stand those nasty tasteless orange tomatoes you usually get at the typical family style restaurant.) anyway, like I said, I can't say enough about this place! This was our second visit based on a recommendation from a friend. The first was disappointing and the second was just as bad. It's a middle eastern restaurant but their garlic sauce taste like butter with no taste, it's just not pleasant to eat. Service was slow and the waiter actually forgot we ordered a salad. Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, clean from floor to ceiling with a pleasant maitre d'! I came in to grab carryout for dinner ordering a couple chicken shawarma sandwiches, a kafta sandwich, some spicy hummus and a bowl of crushed lentil. Everything was really good. The kafta was full of flavor with tomatoes and peppers mixed in, the crushed lentil was spiced and earthy, and their spicy hummus was fiery and served with great fresh bread and garlic sauce. The two shawarma sandwiches were pretty good too but I'm a little partial to the spices and grill flavor that spots like Green Cedar and Mr. Kabob develop with their chicken. Overall this was a win for sure. We'll be back to eat in and try some of their salads and kabob. read more

I'll start by saying that I love La Marsa and the convenience of ordering via Yelp. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to expectations. We ordered 3 fatoosh dinner salads and several shawarma sandwiches. When I opened the salad containers at home, I discovered that only one had the dressing. That was a true bummer! I called right away and told the manager. He was very understanding and offered a discount on our next visit. If I lived closer, I would've gone back for the dressing. Next, I went to the sandwiches. Service is correct and attentive. The decor shines in strip mall practicality and lack of imagination. You are received with a basket of piping hot, tiny pita loaves with a humongous portion of aioli... enough to kill a hundred vampires. Ordered the lamb combo. The kafta was tasty, and the grape leaves delicious. The meat pies were soft and unsubstantial, and the highlight of the dish, the crispy, scrumptious fried kibbeh unfortunately felt like an afterthought. They only receive three, and not four stars, for the giant portion of parboiled rice. They should be steaming non-parboiled rice, I feel very strongly about these types of shortcuts. We met a friend here on May 7, 2022 for dinner. The salmon dinner was so salty my wife could barely eat it. My Koshary was tasty but the lamb I paid an add'l $8 for was very tough. The lentil soup was scrumptious as were the appetizers. The spinach pie app had VERY little spinach in them. How much is spinach? About $1 per pound? We won't be back! read more

This place is a Mediterranean gem in homogenous Brighton, MI. The food and dining in service are consistently top notch. The chicken hummous dish comes with a small amount of chicken and an extra large amount of hummous. Both delish! The.garlic.sauce. The garlic sauce is 100% incredible. I NEED it in my life. The pita bread that is freshly baked is delivered to the table warm and soft. I make it a point to try garlic sauce in my travels and this place literally has the best. The only concern I've ever had is with the take away orders. My recommendation- check your order before you leave. If I order 2 orders of garlic sauce and an extra half dozen pita rolls sometimes I get the second order (which I pay for), sometimes I don't; sometimes I get a half an order of both, sometimes I get 3x the number of pita rolls with a half order of garlic sauce. I don't get it. Overall I make it a point to visit at least once every trip back to Michigan. I actually can't wait to eat there again in between visits. read more

We went there for Valentines Day this year, and the Couple's Special was amazing. I don't recall what was in it, but even my husband was impressed! We ordered carry-out tonight, and one of our items wasn't quite right (we got hummus instead of chicken and hummus). When I called the restaurant about the mix-up, they put me right through to the manager who offered to bring it to our house. And he DID (along with "We're Sorry" desserts)! I'm a customer for life! It was our first time here and the server was very welcoming and loved sharing the menu with us, noting his favorites. The Lentil soup and Fattoush salad was fabulous- we'd come back just for those. The complementary baklava for dessert was excellent as well. The entrees, however, were sadly overly oil-laden- we had the Chicken Shawarma and the Chicken with Vegetables (the name escapes me). If you dine here enough you will eventually be taken advantage of. The food is B grade and they're nice enough. But whether it's the groupon deal that as they told me in person "you gotta read the fine print" that requires you to dine in and and spend the entire gift card in one visit or you lose it, or inexplicably you're charged one thing one day and another the next, they'll eventually get ya. La Marza was amazingly delicious: garlic butter and khobs bread, moussaka with lamb and roasted vegetables and salad, lamb and lima soup with roasted vegetables and salad plus a sandwich. The vegetables were lightly roasted and very juicy. The garlic butter was super garlicky. The salad used real lettuce and was filling in of itself.
