Delicious, authentic food. Huge portions. Fair prices. My family loved the Chile nachos. The chips were the perfect thickness to not get soggy but still hold the toppings. They looked homemade. My taco salad was filled with everything I could ever want. I am soooo full even without a tortilla. Horchata was yummy but all 3 of us made the mistake or ordering large and had no idea how generous they were. We could have easily filled a pitcher among the three of us. Stopped by on way back from Grand Canyon. Food was Amazing. Had the asada, chicken & carnitas tacos which were amazing specially the chicken. They were out of pastor so can only imagine it. The chips were really good too. The service was great. Very attentive snd kept checking if needed anything else. The ambiance was great because all the staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. Location: Looks like a home turned restaurant. Don't let the curb appeal fool you. This is a "hidden gem" in Barstow. Hours: Business Hours are posted on their door. Didnt take a picture. We ordered (10) Chicken Tacos w/Large Drink (their large drink is HUGE!), Carne Asada Fries w/everything on top and Stuffed Shredded Beef Sopapilla (wet), w/extra green and red sauce on the side. EVERYTHING was sooooooo good! Mexican food wouldn't be my husband's first choice of goto food but he loves carne asada fries...he could not stop talking about how good La Mesa's Asada Fries were compared to the ones we've had living in Vegas. He ate the whole plate! I had one bite! We LOVED the tacos, lots of flavor! The sopapilla...man...that's dangerous! I don't know what that potato gravy sauce thing is they pour ontop but it's yummy! That was something my mom made growing up, but since has passed. The vibe was really positive n great!! It was a husband n wife running everything!! Super nice n positive people!! They make sure while u are there that everything is good n ur well taken care of!! The, husband who gets down with his cooking is dealing with cancer, but is so positive n joyful!!
