Chase Coffee Roasters is such a special spot! Anthony, the owner, is incredibly nice, and I really love that he provides a place for individuals with disabilities to work. It's something you don't see everywhere, and it makes the experience here even more meaningful. The food is also DELICIOUS, especially the breakfast burrito. They toast it in a way that makes the outside perfectly crispy while the inside is packed with all your favorite breakfast items. So good! Their drinks are also worth getting, especially the strawberry matcha. It's perfectly sweet, and you can actually taste both the strawberry and matcha, which I really liked. And the bagel sandwiches absolutely blew us away. Just look at the picture and see how PACKED it is! You have to add their chipotle sauce too because it literally completes the sandwich. We devoured it in minutes It's also the perfect spot for CSUF students to grab a quick bite before class or in between classes. I ordered a smoothie that is on the menu and has been for years. The Miami spice. The service was quick and the employees were really nice, but they gave me back a smoothie that was entirely different than what I ordered. The Miami spice is supposed to be raspberries, mango and orange juice. The smoothie I got was very dark definitely having blueberries in it. I wasn't worried about it because I just assumed that they had added blueberries in on top of the regular stuff, but when I drank it, I realized there was definitely no raspberry in it. So I went back and very nicely was like hi. I think this may be the wrong smoothie and they were really nice and very quickly got me back my smoothie. You can imagine my surprise when this smoothie also had no raspberries in it, but instead strawberries. Honestly, very disappointing experience and I wasn't gonna go back and ask for a third smoothie. i've been going to this place for years, but the quality has decreased significantly over the last couple years unfortunately cannot recommend anymore. read more

Omg, what can I say?! this is one of the absolutely best cafes I've been to! It's so cute and authentic. There's a little library area and about two games you can play. The service was great my husband and I got a drink and the Genova salami sandwich which is a Specialty Food on the menu. AMAZING. As a returning customer, I'm honestly shocked and disappointed by the condition of the front area at CJ Coffee. There is trash scattered everywhere, overflowing bins, and debris all along the walkway. It's embarrassing how neglected it looks. If this is what they allow customers to see outside, it really makes you question what the inside looks like where food and drinks are being prepared. It's completely uninviting and shows a serious lack of care or pride in the business. I've been here many times before, and I've never seen it look this bad. As someone who used to enjoy coming here, it's upsetting to see how far the standards have fallen. Until they clean up and consistently maintain the property, I won't be returning--and I definitely can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came in to kill time before Savers opened. I didn't like the idea of having to order from a touchscreen. There was even a sign saying to make sure your item was there before order. We sometimes use CJ Coffee House as detour on our hikes through Peters Canyon, (or after our hikes) to have a coffee and a bite. Or, we stop by during/after bike rides into Irvine Regional Park. There is an outdoor seating area so you can keep an eye on your bike. Occasionally, we bring our dog and sit on the outdoor patio. There is a little bit of indoor seating, including a couch and a bathroom for customers. This is a small, independent, coffee shop, and it will take some time to get your coffee and food. There are usually 2 people working, sometimes 3 at most. This is not Starbucks with 5 baristas pumping out coffees, so if you are looking for something FAST, I would go elsewhere. If you have some time, sit and enjoy the fresh air. Pricing is a bit above average as well. They have a little bit of everything: hot coffee, cold, coffee, matcha, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, breakfast burritos, etc. I usually get a hot vanilla latte and either the chicken burrito or the lox bagel. My daughter gets matcha or the Razzle Dazzle smoothie. My son usually gets the sunrise bagel with bacon Last time, my friend had the green pandan (coconut-like flavor) drink which she said was good. This is one of my favorite coffee shops. The owner is so sweet and the food is delicious. I come here every week and I get something new every time. I also love all of the drinks here but my favorite has to be their banana matcha. They use real bananas! Their drink portions are so big and the prices are really reasonable for the size that you get. The cafe has lots of books to read and a few games to play if you're ever bored. read more

I was in the area and needed to kill some time so I stopped by this coffee shop and I am glad I did! It's a cute shop and my coffee was decent! They didn't charge for alternative milk which was nice. I will say I hate ordering on a tablet and think it would be faster if I could just order a single coffee to a person. I wanted to like this place more. Felt like supporting a local non-mainstream coffee shop so I came by CJ Coffee House on Friday afternoon, with a friend, for a hot beverage and catch up session. Upon entering, the shop had a bit of a stale and and not well maintained atmosphere to it. Nonetheless, I made sure to keep an open mind. Ordered at the self-service station but had a f/u question for the cashier and she was unfriendly, didn't even as much as crack a smile, and used the fewest possible amount of words to respond to my question. Perhaps she was having a not so good day, all good. Hot honey almond latte came out to $6.45 (for a medium) after a $0.20 convenience fee was added to the total? Not sure what that's about. Waited about 10 mins for my drink, which to me felt like a long time. On the plus side, my drink was satisfying and comforting, it hit the spot. Took a seat at a table towards the back which hadn't been wiped down, had our coffee and conversations, and were on our merry way. CJ Coffee House has potential but just needs some TLC. read more

On 8/5 i ordered a mocha at 9:07 and now it is 9:50 and no coffee. Others have gotten their order. I have been completely ignored. There is only person working and she is crazy overwhelmed with customers. Finally when asked why 5 other customers received drinks and food before my coffee the only response was "I am the only one working", repeatedly. At that point I left not trusting my coffee would be prepared properly. Thank you for responding. It was quite obvious she was overwhelmed but she very well knew my order was there well before the other five. Went in at 11:20 am today. They were painfully understaffed, with one person covering both taking orders and making drinks. My bagel and cream cheese came after 10-15 minutes; however, after 35 minutes I still didn't have my iced latte. When asked if I was still waiting for my beverage, they said it would be "a few" more minutes, which I didn't have so I told them I couldn't wait and left without my latte.. I do understand that Saturday late morning is a busy time; however, three staff was not enough, and they were poorly distributed. Someone having to split their time between taking orders and making beverages, at a coffee shop, is poor management. I will NEVER go back on a weekend day. read more

I came here for the first time yesterday. Overall, the experience, coffee, location, and customer service were all great. The ONLY reason I'm not giving it the full 5 stars is because my drink came to $8! Upon entry, it's a quaint little spot in a pretty nice strip mall. There were adorable tea pot planters on the outdoor tables, a couple spots to sit outside, and overall, a cute inviting interior. My friend and I were able to order right away. For a small production, the service was very fast for our drinks (I have no idea if food is slower). I saw there was a matcha pistachio latte, and asked if they would be able to do it as JUST pistachio. There was no issue! So I got a 16 ounce, iced, pistachio latte with oat milk and an add shot. She even asked me what level I wanted the sweetness (very considerate since I like the sweetener on the low side personally). My friend got the 20 ounce Ube latte with oat milk. I will start by saying that I know my customization adds to the cost of the drink, but I do those two things pretty much every where I go and order, and I don't remember the last time it came to $8. (yeah yeah yeah...inflation...blah blah blah). The coffee was DELICIOUS! It had just the right amount of flavor, sweetness, it was a nice coffee with no harsh bite. There was even a little bit of crushed pistachio sprinkled on top. That made for some nice surprise sips when they sank to the bottom. I'm all about supporting small businesses and little local coffee spots, and this is an absolute MUST visit! They had a pretty extensive food menu that I hadn't even gotten to yet, but I'm excited to go back and try it. On a recent weekday morning I was in the plaza where this coffee place is located and popped in. The interior is cozy with a handful of tables as well as a counter plus several tables outside on the sidewalk. A good number of local "regulars" were enjoying their morning here. Glancing at the menu on the wall I saw that they offer toasts, bagels (and bagel sandwiches), and omelettes. I just wanted a hot coffee so ordered a vanilla latte but then spotted huge chocolate chip cookies in a jar so got one of those too. Actually they were more like chocolate CHUNK cookies. Fresh and delicious. My latte came up in five minutes. I knew something probably wasn't right when the barista called "regular latte" when my order was ready. The order slip with the to-go cup clearly said "vanilla latte" but after several sips it was obvious it was a good latte but not the faintest hint of vanilla. I was already in my car by now so didn't bother to go back in. Other than that misfire it seemed like a decent but average spot for a coffee. read more

I've been coming here for a few years as a pit stop on Sundays during my motorcycle ride. Today I burned my arm on my hot exhaust pipes. When I got there I asked if they can put some ice in a bag for me so I can put it on my burn. They got me a ziplock full of ice but not only that, they also went into their first aid kit and got me burn lotion. That was so amazing of them. Food is great. Service is horrible. They are about as indifferent as you can be about waiting on customers in a timely manner. Stood for nearly ten minutes waiting to order at the counter while one person made food and the other sat at the break table adjacent doing nothing. Break over, finally took my order. They behave as if they absolutely don't care if you get served or not. That food is good but the service is beyond bad.
