I had a similar experience to many others and waited about 15 to 20 minutes for my order while one employee managed everything alone. Thankfully, the store was empty when we arrived, and the line only started to form after we got there. I ordered two raspados and stuffed cucumbers. Unfortunately, this visit left a bad impression, and I don't think I'll be returning. The raspados were very disappointing. I ordered guava and strawberry, which were the only flavors available at the time. I had originally asked for Tamarindo, but they didn't have it. The syrups tasted extremely artificial and not fresh at all. I ended up throwing mine away because I just couldn't enjoy it. The stuffed cucumbers were okay. It was my first time trying them, so I'd be open to giving them another shot at a different location. This place might be better for scooped ice cream, loaded chips, or other snacks, but I wouldn't recommend it for raspados. read more

Location was clean and staff was friendly, prices are ok depending on what you ordered. Only thing had an issue with was the setup: as soon as you walk in the location to order your item is right side so when more people came in they spilled into the eating area where you're literally enjoying your dessert with a butt smiling at you which was the only thing I had an issue with other then that we will make this one of our go to sports for desserts. read more

I've been here a few times and it just fine. Service is not bad but not necessarily good, mainly go in get what you need and get out kind of vibe. The ice cream and paletas are fine also, they'll satisfy but there's also better options around. Still I kept returning because it's close to home and I like supporting businesses in the neighborhood. However, I was there a few days ago, I wanted something cold to drink and figured I would get an horchata since I've been to other local ice cream shops and their horchata and drinks in general are always solid. Well, when it was being served it looked fishy. Kind of thicker than usual and not a speck of cinnamon in sight. When I took a sip of my $8... yes $8 horchata I realized it was a large cup of melted vanilla ice cream. I know this sounds ridiculous but it was in sweetness, thickness and flavor exactly like melted vanilla ice cream. I'm not sure if this is their practice or they are using a recipe that results in this which is also a fail I think. I muscled down a couple sips just to make sure I wasn't crazy but that was about all I could do. Maybe it was a bad day, maybe they ran out and had to figure something out and melting ice cream was the solution? Who knows but there's plenty other options near by to be taking a chance with this place. It's a bummer. read more

The food is great.. When they have all the ingredients.. Let me just say when there's an item on the menu and it requires certain ingredients let's make sure they're in stock. I ordered 2 chicharrones (harina) prepared with all the fixings. They started to prepare both when they said they were out of cream. (They offered mayo as a substitute, I declined). We continued with the order and at payment I asked why there was no discount since the dish was missing one of the main ingredients. The woman behind the counter said they don't give out discounts. Stating every other ingredient is there but the one. I again asked why wouldn't they give a discount on an incomplete order, it's just not very good business. She replied with such a tone and attitude: "you don't have to work here". At that point I declined the purchase. My mom who was with me felt bad n purchased her order only to find the avocados gray past their prime and overly saturated with the Tapatio. I immediately went to the other Michoacana on Fairgrove and asked what they'd do if they had a missing ingredient (after I placed my order of course). They said they didn't offer discounts but would add more of the other ingredients to make up for the missing one. I found it refreshing that they offered a solution rather than to give attitude. Needless to say I won't be returning to the Michoacana on Ardilla/Amar. After dining next door, I HAD TO COME HERE. Costco put me on. We had the privilege of trying these mango chili frozen slush cups that were in the packaged frozen section of the store a few summers ago, and they are FIRE. I loved them so much that I Googled the company and found all these locations across the NATION (I even saw one when I visited Texas with my mom a few years ago). We were so pleased to see this location as we pulled into the parking lot for brunch and declared right then and there that we'd be swinging by after our meal. There was one party ahead of us placing their orders. The place is pretty large. The floor space for dining and shopping is a large L shape around a smaller L shaped counter. The flavors, y'all, the FLAVORS. SO MANY. I love that the place is big enough that other people can peer into the 'Case of 1000 Flavors' and work on narrowing down their selection while another person/party orders. The young woman behind the counter was doing her best to get everyone served and While I didn't see anyone else there, my Mom spotted another employee in back. After all that gawking and leering at frozen dessert flavors ranging from Tequila to Ferrero Rocher, I settled on the Cucumber Lemon Agua Fresca. Listen: THERE IS NO BAD CHOICE HERE, PEOPLE. Highly recommended. A beautiful space with so many fun flavors of a buncha different types of treats. There's even candy in little boxes on the countertop for sale. I've tried the different michoacanas in the area and the esquites at this location blow out the competition by far. obviously you got to get the esquites with hot cheetos on top = chef's kiss it is amazing!
