    Cookie Monster & Saigon Coffee
    Kwang C.

Got a Single Scoop, Half & Half. Cookie Monster with Oreo was good, but the Saigon Coffee really stood out. (Both are insanely sweet though!) 點了份單球雙拼。帶有 Oreo 的餅乾怪獸表現不錯,但濃醇的西貢咖啡更深得我心(但都甜度爆表)。

I have been a faithful, loyal and OBSESSED client of this ice cream parlor for almost 10 years. I have tried every single flavor, every combination, all the specialties and I can assure u Im STILL obsessed. Afters is a fan favorite in ly circles and ever since my nephew was in high school I remember taking him to get a scoop after school sometimes. It brings me back nice memories. Because I dont work around the West Covina area anymore the closest one I have now is the Gale Ave location which I visit from time to time. Parking can be challengging but Im a huge advocate of BEING PATIENT cause end product is worth the wait. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is very plain and simple and minimalistic and to the point which I appreciate, tho it could use a bit more decor on the wall (thats just me and my designer head hahah)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only reason why J dont give it 5 stars rating is because they DONT take cash. In this day and age many business owners assume everybody is a gen z 'er and that we dont like to carry cash, which is NOT the case. I am a cash budgeter so to me, this is a huge downside cause I have to use my card and sometimes I dont have money in my card. Take that into consideration.

The ice cream here is thiccccc. Jasmine milk tea is good but it is caffeinated so beware if you're caffeine sensitive. The new matcha berry ice cream is excellent. Mango sorbet is refreshing. They offer samples so definitely try before ordering.

This is my first time coming here and as I walked inside, the room felt so sleek but colorful, and a neon bright aurora draws you into a contrast of the freezer counter full of whimsically named flavors of ice cream. Luckily no line was forming behind us when we got in and as we started lining up I took a quick glance at their own merchandise particularly if they still had their hilarious puns on shirts. The flavors were a variety of familiar and unexpectedly surprising combinations for ice cream such as milk and cookies or milk and cereal. I was able to ask to try some of the intriguing flavors such as: 1. Milk and cereal which tasted exactly how they described, the milk after eating a bowl of Frosted Flakes (my gosh good times). 2. Ube brownie: I didn't get any ube with the tasted and got more brownie so I thought it was a smooth ube ice cream with brownie chunks. 3. Dark matter brownie: super fudgey and thick brownie ice cream with chunks of brownies, it was so creamy and coats your mouth. I really wanted chocolate flavors and couldn't decide on the two brownie ones so we got both in one bowl to share, the ube on the bottom and the brownie ones the top. We asked to get two scoops in a cup to share rather than one cup each. As we walked to the register I saw BTS' bt21 merchandises and they had pins and keychains of the bt21 characters and ice cream related poses. When we got our scoops it was in a slightly wider bowl than a single scoop cup, so our ice cream looked flat but there's actually a lot of ice cream. I tried a little of: 3. Matcha berry crunch had chunks which chewing them made it like your chewing strawberry and cream which I liked since the matcha flavor was also strong, complimenting each other. 4. Strawberry cookie crunch which my taste didn't have any cookies but was still very smooth and creamy. The brownie ice cream was so thick and creamy, every bite was so indulgently good, so satisfyingly filling, a bit regretting the second scoop, but also curious when you get to finish and start the ube one. As we finished the brownie the ube started to surface and yes I ate some ube chunks to my surprise, I thought it was smooth but being wrong this time isn't bad. Since there were also brownie chunks each bite gets me so confused as if I knew it tasted like ube but what if it's brownie soaked with so much ube flavor that it tasted like ube chunk?? By the time I decided that there might have been actual ube chunks in it we finished the cup. Overall such an indulgent and satisfying way to end dinner.

I have only been to 2 Afters locations, but I have to say that I know I love their ice cream. A long time ago, they were one of the first shops in the area to have more fun and unique flavors. To this day, their quality is still pretty consistent in terms of taste and service. I personally enjoy how thick their ice cream is. Their ice cream is thick, but not chewy. Their flavors are all rich and I have never had issues with watery/icy bits in my ice cream here. I personally love their classic jasmine milk tea flavor and the killer brownie is a new favorite.

Afters, Afters, Afters..... Came here to get a sweet treat on a warm night. Naturally it was busy, which most Ice Cream places are when it's warm. I have been to afters a handful of times and every time is a different experience with different flavors. Tonight was kind of a let down though. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was good, ambiance was normal and upbeat, but the ice cream flavors were not it![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My favorites are usually the Cookie Butter and Churro, they had neither (cry me a river, I know!!) LoL So I settled for milk and cereal w/ a cap'n crunch mix in, it was "ok" no where near my favorites, but I dealt with it. I usually love Afters, but 3 stars tonight due to lack of flavors.

My first time trying After Ice Cream. I got the brownie batter. So good and definitely hit the spot. Definitely will be coming back. The service was good.

Afters is always so yummy, the unique flavors are definitely my favorite-there's really nothing like it. The cashier was welcoming and offered great service he also answered all of my questions swiftly! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store was very clean and organized, there was no line so it felt even comfier![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, I ordered the salted Oreo, and brownie batter, they were both delicious! The Salted Oreo had a great mix of sweet and salty, and the crispy waffle cone topped it off. Every bite was a burst of flavor, super yummy, and definitely worth the trip. These flavors were a first for me but absolutely amazing--. Such fun flavors to try, if you have a sweet tooth you have to stop by Afters!

AFTER KOREAN BBQ, WE WANTED DESSERT. THEY RAN OUT OF WAFFLE CONES AND THE REGULAR ONE WAS STALE I am a cookie girly, not an ice cream one- however, I figured I'd give it a whirl. All around, I will not come back. It was expensive, stale, and very "MID". Isn't that how the kids say it? Haha. ICE CREAM: 3/5 I really loved the cookie butter, it had a good taste. It was creamy, not overly sweet and decent. One scoop is rather small, but more than enough for me (again, I'm not a huge ice cream fan) Price: 1/5 We paid $16.00 for two ice creams. In my honest opinion, it was not worth it. My nephew who's a teen and not picky, loved his. So, he begs to differ lol All around: 1/5 My cone was hard as a rock, the staff was weird, and the price was off. I won't be coming back, but I will admit the cookie butter was decent tasting!

Single Scoop - 1/2 Saigon Coffee & 1/2 Cookie Monster
    Michelle N.

I knew Afters wouldn't let me down no matter the location and I'm glad I wasn't proven wrong! I was glad to find out that I can get a Single Scoop and do a half scoop of the ones I wanted since I'm always stuck on the same 2 and don't usually finish my double scoops! I got my go to: Single Scoop - 1/2 Saigon Coffee & 1/2 Cookie Monster. The combination of the coffee and the creaminess of the cookie monster is what makes this so good. If you're not crazy about sweets, give this combo a try and fall in love with ice cream again!

They bake them fresh multiple times throughout the day, and you can definitely tell. I also love that they have several different flavors, so there's something for everyone. I really enjoyed their Matcha Frappuccino too! Just know that it's more like a matcha smoothie than a traditional matcha latte. Don't expect a super strong or intense matcha flavor--it's creamy, refreshing, and still really good! My teenage daughter really liked it too, and she normally doesn't like matcha when the flavor is too strong. And surprisingly, one of my favorite things was the pineapple soft serve! It totally satisfied my Dole Whip craving without having to make a trip to Disneyland. Between the fresh coffee buns, drinks, soft serve, bingsu, and scones, there's a lot to choose from. Definitely a fun little spot to check out in Rowland Heights!

The presentation of their fresh milk mochi (鲜奶麻薯) bowls and dip-and-stretch mochi desserts is undeniable--it makes for great photos, and the shop itself is super bright and clean. The stretchy texture of the milk mochi base was fun and delightfully soft, and components like the taro paste and purple rice had a nice, subtle sweetness. However, for the price point, the execution fell a little short. Some of the toppings felt under-prepared; the taro balls lacked that fresh, springy chewy elasticity you want in a shaved ice/mochi bowl, and the coconut jelly base tasted slightly watered down instead of rich. Logistics wise, the service was quite slow even though the store wasn't very busy, and parking in this Labin Court plaza can be a complete nightmare during peak evening hours. It's a solid place to stop by once for the aesthetic and novelty, but given the steep competition for Asian desserts in Rowland, it doesn't quite hit top-tier status for me.

They were fine, but with so many other bingsoo places in the area, I wouldn't say these stood out. What really left a sour taste was the service. We were charged $35 for the two desserts, which isn't exactly cheap. After the transaction was completed, the owner came over and told us that we'd been charged incorrectly because to-go orders cost more and that there was an additional $2. I understand that mistakes happen, and it's not about the $2. It's the principle and, more importantly, how it was handled. Once we had been given the total and charged, I don't think it was appropriate to come back afterward and ask us to pay more because the business had made an error. If there's a different price for to-go orders, that should be communicated and reflected in the total before the customer pays. Unfortunately, the experience left a bad impression.
