Went back to Bruster's because despite the semi-bad customer service we received last time, I still love their ice cream and their owners are super sweet. However, I don't know how or why their customer service still remains the same as before. I ordered the Vanilla Dot Cake that's new and I saw advertised online. When ordering, I made it known to have it placed as a to-go order so I can't take it home to enjoy. Once received, they had the dot cake in a cup with a spoon on top. I kindly told the worker that I ordered to-go. She quite rudely responded that she never got a note saying to to-go the dot cake but if I wanted it to-go she will repack it for me. So I said yes please and this is how she repacked it for me...would it kill you to remake it so that when I eat it at home, it wouldn't be such a mess and hassle to enjoy...? If I could give a place 20 stars I would. Brusters is the wind beneath my wings, the ground beneath my feet, the air in which that I breathe and the water of which that I drink. There is not a single ice cream spot that has knocked my socks off such as this place. What started as a night out with my wife, brother in law, and our friend turned into an amazing encounter with the amazing servers at Brusters that left a lasting impact on our families. We arrived to Brusters two days before Christmas, just in time to enjoy the holiday flavors. I had the egg nog and gingerbread and y'all, easily the most insane combination of ice cream I've ever had the privilege of enjoying. My wife had the salted caramel, and my brother in law enjoyed the NY cheesecake. My father in law eventually tried the egg nog and went on his own trip to try some. To everyone at that small red and white nook of an ice cream establishment deep in Whittier, you are doing an amazing job. My young child loves this spot! And my favorite thing about it is the free baby cone for children below a certain height. We go there as a fun treat. I try not to eat too much sugar, but the ice cream here really is quality you can taste. There are so many dairy free options which I really appreciate . My favorite so far is the dairy free cherry vanilla flavor. The staff is really nice and the lines are hit or miss. However, everybody in the area has also been kind and mellow so no complaints. There are benches you can sit on to enjoy the ice cream, but it isn't particularly a sit down place so it can get crowded on busy days. All in all a happy experience every time. They have so many flavors here. It was so hard decide so I just went for a classic cookies and cream. I was not disappointed. They had nice big chunks of Oreos in the Ice cream. I got it in a waffle bowl and that was good. There is a decent little wait in between ordering and getting the actual ice cream considering we only ordered scoops of ice cream. We had a late lunch at Black Angus and being international ice cream day, we decided to go across the street to Brusters. This was my first time ever trying their ice cream. There was a long line but I was determined to have ice cream. It was nice that they had a list of their flavours outside so I could choose before getting to the window. We both decided to get a 2 scoop cone without knowing that they had a deal for national ice cream day. The girl at the window was very nice to let us know and applied the promo. They don't really have a seating area at all, but there are benches outside where we decided to sit and people watch as we enjoyed our ice creams. The ice cream was very creamy and not tasting like milk (I don't like milk flavour). The cone was nice and crunchy. I loved that they give you this plastic protector to hold the cone which prevents the leaking getting on your clothes. I downloaded the app and will for sure be back to try other flavours! read more

I've been eyeing this place for a while and I finally went this past Saturday. I tried a few of the ice creams and decided on a banana split with rocky road, strawberry and cherry vanilla. It was so freaking delicious. The ice cream was perfect and not too sweet at all. A banana split was $9.95, not bad for the size. Perfect for two people. Skip the BROWNIE - unfortunately it's really Dry & Tasteless. I've tried about 15 of their flavors and every one of them is right on the flavor. Graham Central Station, Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and Smore's are always excellent choices. The service is quick and super-friendly so don't let the occasional long line deter you. My daughter and I visited this location at 5:45pm tonight for the first and last time. We accidentally thought the door for the ice cream shop was for customers but were rudely barked at by the employee that "they would help us at the outside counter." You'd think we walked in on her in the bathroom by the expression on her face. That being said, we walked up to the outside counter and the people she referred to that would help us never came. I pass by this location all the time and kept seeing the lines. I was curious to know what all the hoopla was about so decided to stop in. Well now I know why the long lines, it's for the incredible, amazing, and delicious ice cream!! I had the waffle cake with pistachio and sea salt caramel, oh my God, so so good!! This is the best ice cream I've ever had. The flavors and textures were off the charts and had my tastebuds screaming with pleasure!! When this place opened earlier this year, we thought we would give it a try. Oh my gosh, I fell in love instantly! I'm actually not a huge ice cream fan, but it's made fresh on site daily and it's the best I've ever had my entire life! I always order the butter pecan and my husband gets the pistachio and Rocky Road. It's our regular order because we are so obsessed with the flavors. We visit frequently and never get tired of it. Baskin what??! Buster's Real Ice Cream is the real deal. The ice cream is so creamy & absolutely melt in your mouth delicious. My family & I have become fans of this ice cream place. The only reason I held back on a 5 star is that depending on who's serving your ice cream the portions can be skimpy. The service varies though. There have been times we come & get generous scoops other times not so much. Is it worth it though? For me that's an utter YES. The fact that the ice cream is very creamy, & well packed with flavor is what makes us want to return. The Oreo ice cream has lots of delicious Oreo, the cookie dough has a great amount of cookie dough & the cookie dough is actually very good. I'm not a fan of Baskin Robbins cookie dough (Thriftys is good though, but does not compare to here) The cookie dough is rough on theirs & here at Brusters the cookie dough is nice and soft. I recommend you give this place a try. The prices are fair, I don't think it's expensive, but it's not cheap either. For REAL ice cream the price is worth it especially if you treat yourself once in awhile. My husband's favorite is the cookies & cream. My SIL liked the mint chocolate chip. We'll be back again soon since my husband wants to try the pistachio & I'd like to try their rocky road. *Update 11/26/2023 Hubby & I came to pick up ice cream for the fam & wow was it busy tonight. We tried their banana split & honestly they should not be called that. Here they do not split the banana in half. Instead they cut the banana up in pieces. I'm not a fan of the containers they serve their "banana splits" in that will not entice me to get another banana split from here. This place should get banana split containers such as Baskin Robbin's, because these do not have ample room for the scoops you get, let alone toppings. When we opened up our container it was a disappointment to see a smashed up mess...but regardless the ice cream was delicious. We tried the pistachio ice cream & we absolutely loved it. Just an FYI in case someone wants to get a traditional banana split. Now you know this place prepares theirs. I'll stick to getting a cone. They also updated their menu of ice cream flavors. Delicious ice cream. The line was long but the service was good. Order online for a faster experience. On Thursdays they have 50% off banana splits if you bring your own banana. The ambiance is a little weird because they don't let you come in. They just serve you through a window. The long lines, the constant traffic from people going to restaurants next door.
