I would give a 5, but....I get really annoyed sitting inside a place and flies landing on my food:( I was wishing I had a tail soo don't constantly have to use my hand to get them off:( Having said that....Kris.. aka Tina is a 5 star!! Excellent service and suggestions. We came in pretty close to closing and she never made us feel rushed. She's a professional! Food is good. I personally didn't care fore the little block of cilantro rice, but to each his own. Enchiladas were good and mashed black beans. Homemade corn tortillas... who wouldn't appreciate that! I wish modesto had cute places like this. Jelly of downtown Turlock's plethora of food choices and hip relaxing atmosphere. Good food, amazing coffee! The location is my favorite part. The outside seating area is so comforting, with the heaters and blankets. You do have to wait for your coffee longer than usual at times (we have received cold coffee a few times) So be prepared in case you're in a hurry or looking forward to having it first (as we always are) I understand they have to serve the cafe next door as well, but this has been happening lately. We have been having to get their attention several times throughout our meals (in need of more water, another drink, condiments or reminder of our coffee order) since we have been just served and they're gone. We haven't been going as often as that gets tiring and becomes difficult to enjoy our meals. read more

When you first walk up, you see the La Mo cafe! This is not the restaurant... keep walking past the shops on the right to get to the restaurant courtyard. On a Tuesday mid morning, this place had a wait of 20+ minutes! The courtyard seating environment is so cute & saved from the sun by umbrellas. They also have large fans. They serve weekly specials for different menu items/drinks. Food is a little on the pricier side for the serving size that you get, but the food is very flavorful and SO good!! The chicken tinga compuesta was on the spicier side if you are sensitive like me!! If passing through Turlock again, would definitely go back and next time try their cocktails and this cake/bread dessert with fruit and whipped cream! I went to La Mo's this week and the food was good but the customer service was horrendous! I told the 1st waitress to not put cheese on the wedding chicken plate. She said that was fine. Another waitress brought my food and behold there was cheese all over my food! I asked the waitress kindly if I can get the plate redone with no cheese (as I had asked in the first place) and she scoffed and rolled her eyes!! Didn't know it would be such a hassle and not my fault that someone else dropped the ball on simple directions. I called La Mo to speak with a manager to address the situation and wow the manager was just as rude as the employee!! She quickly tried to take the call as if she had better things to do. The manager was very dismissive about what happened and instantly blamed it on another manager (as if giving an eye roll to a customer is okay). She didn't even acknowledge the employees inappropriate behaviors and said the employee would get a "pep talk" then barked out an "apology". I guess La Mo hires rude workers! read more

We came here to celebrate my best friend birthday and it was exceptional. They started the fun with had bottomless Mamosa's, while I chose to enjoy the amazing coffee from "Noble Coffee" (Ashland, Oregon). Most of us ordered the tacos and it was STOOPID GOOD. All of the corn tortillas are home-made. They surprise my friend with a birthday cake that was phenomenal. Tres-Leches cake. It was so good I'm pretty sure I ate most of it. Being a Bay Area native and having a lot of Mexican chilaquiles... this is probably, if not the top of my list! Added chorizo on top and the flavor was just amazing! Service was really good as well. Honestly I have no idea where they're getting their to go plastic utensils from.... But I swear to god that's the best plastic knife I've ever used in my life. My wife and I love this place. One of our favorites is the wedding chicken. Haven't had any complaints about any food I've received here. Service is always nice and attentive. Omg better than advertised. Rarely am I amazed by restaurants but this place gets it right from the service to the presentation of the food and the quality of the food. When you get that at a place you expect it to be expensive... not here food was affordable and you can taste the passion and love that went into. I'm from Stockton and I will drive to Turlock again to eat at this amazing place a lot of things on their amazing brunch menu I need to try. Pescado Encocado special was over the top fantastic! Like James Beard quality dish. The salmon was perfectly cooked, skin crispy, fish tender & perfectly seasoned and the sauce with a mild Thai curry flavor was to.die.for!! Such a great brunch spot! There are tons of different indoor and outdoor seating options, with everything from table umbrellas to heat lamps and blankets. The menu is super fresh! I ordered Guadalupe's tacos and the flavors and portions were spot on. The menu has all of your traditional Mexican dishes like chilaquiles and tamales and I can't wait to go back and try more menu options. read more

Yes, ok I have heard about over the years about this place ! Nice ambiance decent food & service... still looking for that place that makes you drive to it ... a local hangout I guess why complain on pricing French toast $13.50 no eggs or bacon with it, just French toast with a handful of pieces of fruit ... plus coffee and tip $20 breakfast is now a $20 breakfast outing ... McDonald's is $10 for coffee/ egg McMuffin & large coffee... this the new normal however I suspect the $20 will be $25 soon and McDonald's will be $12 plus ... minimum wage is at $15 and few seem happy with it ... a server shared the other day that most of her 8 hour days she makes north of $500 daily they work hard, that's not the question ‍ read more

Delicious! I had the wedding prawns because of everyone else's suggestions. It was very good and the prawns were a good size. I was a bit confused when I got there because there is a cafe in front and la mo is in the back. I had gotten an iced green tea latte and it was just milky and not flavor, but I wouldn't expect it to be Starbucks. So overall it was a good spot to go to. read more

Great breakfast with a fantastic atmosphere. The Yogurt and Granola was delicious, and packed with an assortment of fruit at peak ripeness. If you're looking for something more filling, try the Oatmeal Pancakes - although I couldn't imagine eating all 3, they were really tasty and very unique. Even though it was a HOT day, the outside dining is shaded, and the inside is nice and cool. The staff was also very prompt and friendly - overall a great little spot that's sure to satisfy! read more

Haven't had the chance to try their restaurant side but my husband and I love their cafe. It's so nice to take lunch and grab a pastry and a coffee to go. Two things I'm always seeking out: dog friendly patios and good chilaquiles. I searched for both this morning and drove 30 miles to find LaMo, and I couldn't have been more pleased! My waitress, Stephanie, was smiling and friendly and attentive. The staff wear the cutest flowered aprons, and it doesn't hurt they all loved my dog. I felt so welcome! The restaurant serves local, organic, sustainable eggs and veggies. All sauces and syrups made in-house. Kudos to supporting our locals. The chilaquiles were delicious. Layered with chips tossed in a creamy red sauce, with sliced onions (kind of odd, I prefer diced for this dish), two eggs MY WAY (yay! Over medium, to slice the yolk and let it run), avocado, and nopales. Drizzled with la crema and sprinkled with cojita. I chose the salad as a side (American breakfast always want to shove potatoes down your throat), thinking Mexican traditional micro greens for breakfast, and to my surprise I got a salad full of dried berries, fresh strawberries, sliced almonds and apples (apples were kind of overkill, so I fed them to the dog). It was too much food, so I'll be full all day or take a siesta to recover. That's not a complaint. It was like $15 for ALL that food! I got a specialty tea from LaMo Cafe, nextdoor, which appears to be a sister location that works hand-in-hand. London Fog. Earl Grey with housemade vanilla simple syrup and local milk. HUGE cup of tea, a tad sweet, so Stephanie gladly brought me another teabag and hot water. Overall, a lovely restaurant. 5 stars on atmosphere, service, menu, food. If you like your specialty cafe drinks on the less sweet side, make note and I'm sure they'll alter their recipes for you. A preference more than a complaint. A gem in Turlock. Don't overlook it. *LaMo gallery open for prayer 9:30-10:30 on Mondays. Even if you don't pray... that's so thoughtful. read more

Came here with a friend for a late lunch and we were greeted pretty quickly. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside. The waitress was very nice and took our orders quickly as well. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and my friend ordered the salmon tacos. Both were pretty tasty. The only downside is that we had to scarf our food down because there were tons of flies trying to feast on our food. Besides the flies, everything was on point. Well it seems like either y'all or Yelp deleted my comment. Ima keep this short. It took way too long just to get a seat, and then get the food. The food was mediocore, and hey I liked 7/11 pizza so you just know I don't have high standards for food.
