The fresh squeezed OJ is good and refreshing and lovely. This place makes me feel like the girl on the wall by the archway, bright eyed and excited about the yummy churros and dips. The tiramisu ended up being our very favorite (although they were all delicious) and was one of the best desserts we've ever eaten. I had the morditas (mini churros bites really) which came with a choice of sauce. Lots of great options there too. I picked the dulce de leche (caramel). 15 pieces came hot in a cone. They were quite good. Just wish I had a little more caramel to go with. I think would be great for coffee to go with, but I was there on the evening and didn't need that. Next time. Saw this place on Instagram when it first opened and I have been wanting to try it. We went at 10pm (an hour before they closed) and they were fairly busy. We were able to put in our orders through a kiosk and did not have to wait long at all. We chose dine in and our churros were brought out within 10 minutes. There was a station near the front that had napkins, spoons, and forks we were able to easily grab for our dessert. When they came out they looked amazing! We got the pistachio raspberry and the gansito (chocolate filling with strawberries and meringue). Both tasted great but we were surprised when we cut into the pistachio raspberry churro it started leaking sweetened condensed milk and it tasted so good with the churro. The inside was decorated very beautifully and filled with historic Mexican art patterns including the chairs. Lots of picture friendly areas and lots of seating available. Even on the outside there's a window that's wide open that you can watch them make the churros. The staff were really nice and explained what each item had on it. We only got the churros this time since we were already stuffed from an earlier dinner but I would love to come back to try their gelato and their affogato! read more

This churros place is directly across the street from my friend's place where I stay when I visit my mom. I have churros places all around the DC area. Some restaurants charge much more for two churros chopped in thirds with a sauce. I decided to go for the traditional churros bundle(5 Churritos and one heart churros $10.50) that came with the dip of your choice. I chose Lecherita. They were very good except I do not recommend reheating them. If you do buy them, you should finish them immediately because the microwave doesn't do anything for them. My friend told me this place was owned by the same lady that owns the Mexican restaurant next door. However, the gal at the counter informed me that she sold the Mexican place and solely owns this place, but offers franchise opportunities. When I'm back in December, I'll be sure to try one of the specialty churros but how will I decide on just one? read more

When you first walk in there is an ordering kiosk which I couldn't figure out, upon leaving I figured it out: you have to touch the large screen at eye level, not the one on the bottom. But you can also order at the register. While you wait in line you can watch them drop the churros, make coffee, and prepare all the other goodies. Visited on a weekday evening and it was busy. It's very loud when there were probably 6-7 different groups of people and the whirl of the machines preparing beverages. The space is vibrant and beautifully decorated with lots of selfie spots. There is a seating area at the back with comfy couches, a hop scotch decal on the floor by the bathrooms for the littles to burn some energy, and lots of tables to enjoy your coffee, gelato, or churros. Food was good. I got the pina colada churro which tasted good but the churro was a little chewy. Next time I'll get the traditional churro with cinnamon sugar just to make a good comparison to others I've had. The kids shared a one scoop mango gelato with rainbow sprinkles and strawberry pieces. An absolute gem! They specialize in churros, mexican hot chocolate and gelato among other things. Upon arriving we were greeted by staff working the kitchen. As soon as you walk in you can see them at work making the churros. You can order at the counter or using the two kiosk options they have. We used the kiosk just so we could browse through all the options. The prices are higher than picking these up at a bakery but since it is their main focus I understand they would price a bit higher. They offer a great menu of coffees and lattes as well as the traditional Mexican hot chocolate. Their churros also come in a variety of ways including a basket of churros, tiramisu, dulce de leche, and many other flavors. They can also make you a churro sandwich with their gelato! Absolutely amazing menu. We tried their churritos which is a basket of churros (plenty for 2 adults and 2 kids) . They only offered one small sauce which we chose chocolate. The chocolate sauce was absolutely delicious. We did not know how full the basket would be so we ordered a plain churro on the side and purchased sparkling water and ordered a hot hazelnut latte with almond milk. The churros were so fresh and crispy and very hot! Because it was a lot of churros we did ask for an additional side of strawberry sauce and were willing to pay for it but the staff member was so kind and said we could have it on the house. They have some great hot and cold drinks with different milk alternatives as well as a cooler with some soda options. As we were finishing up our treats we were taking pictures of each other because the space is beautiful and well decorated. A staff member walked by and offered to take our picture. This cafe is so charming and the food was delicious too. We had the chicken sandwich, chicken tenders, chocolate gelato, Mexican hot chocolate, Cafe Miel, creme brûlée churro, and Mordiditas (to go). The chicken sandwich was juicy and flavorful. The sandwich and tenders both came as a meal with fries and a drink. We both chose a water bottle as our drink since we were buying hot drinks as well. My friend said the gelato was the best-- so chocolatey, but not over powering. The cafe Miel was amazing. I will definitely have that again and the creme brûlée churro was such a great mix of flavors. It wasn't too sweet and it truly tasted like creme brûlée. I took the Mordiditas home and was delighted that they still tasted fresh and yummy after a bit of a drive. The service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was relaxed and SO beautifully decorated. Bright beautiful colors everywhere. A hopscotch game drawn on the floor by the restroom was a fun detail. There were so many little touches that really added to the experience. The stoneware our drinks and churros were served in and on were beautiful and added to the feel. The mosaic wall features colors and souvenirs from Mexico that also served as a topic of conversation as we continuously noticed new things in the mosaic. I highly suggest this cafe. They had more hard and crunchy exterior than the soft interior. I like it when the churro is only lightly crispy on the outside, not almost all. You need to eat them fresh as when they cook down, they get even harder. I had such high hopes for this place but was disappointed. The prices were another thing that bothered me.
