My wife and I popped in on a Friday night for a bite. We've walked by this easygoing neighborhood spot a few times over the past months and were anxiously awaiting it's opening. The food here was great -- think Argentinian coffee house -- with empanadas w chimichurri and sandwiches (chicken, steak, sausage). They're also BYOB which is an added bonus. What a gem. I used to live in Avondale before moving to California earlier this year. I remember walking by before it opened as they were renovating the space. Just earlier today, I went with my father since it was a spot half-way between where I was staying and where he lives on the north side. Went on a Wednesday around lunch. Not many people in there. Likely because of the location. It's located in a very residential part of the neighborhood. It is cozy and friendly inside. Our server was extremely helpful and very informative about the menu options and specific customs/traditions, such as Argentine tea (Mate) and alfajores, a traditional Argentinian dessert. We had both, absolutely delicious. But for the main meal, I had the sausage omelette. Real tasty, somewhat spicy ground sausage. The side of papas (potatoes) were spiced so wonderfully too. Turns out they serve way more than what is on their menu. I kind of wish I knew that ahead of time. Would have maybe gotten something else. I guess next time! Just popped in because I happened to be working from home today. I live right down the street and have been anxious for this place to open up! I had a latte and one of their ham and cheese empanadas; both very good. I will come back and update this when I've had a full sit-down meal there, but overall the staff is super friendly and want to make your experience as wonderful as possible. I will also check on the viability for those with allergies: I have a mild nut allergy, and didn't have any issues, but I didn't do the full questioning. ;) All in all, a great addition to the neighborhood! read more

Fresh squeezed juice is the best OJ I have ever had, no exaggeration. They had to have sacrificed 5 oranges to make this one glass. Decorations are very suiting. Food is great. This was a last minute choice and worth it. The artistic rustic modern decor was on point for this cozy cafe. The cafe is nestled in a neighborhood which was a big surprise. The menu is simple and delicious with a choice of sandwiches or full plate. Do not miss the empanadas. They are crispy, soft and flavorful. I could order a combination for my meal and be satisfied. I stopped to pick up lunch the other day and ended up getting the chicken pesto panini (comes with fries), and a chicken and beef empanada. This used to be a great place to go. Food used to be really good and was a great addition to the neighborhood, but it has gone completely down hill over the last few months. It seems like the management has changed which may explain the changes to the quality. The people who used to work there were very friendly and the environment was cozy but the people now working there are rude. Instead of being a cozy neighborhood place focusing on good food, they now focus on hosting loud late night parties ignoring zoning regulations. I guess if you can't make good food, you have to make money somehow. read more
