Best Mexican food in town! My kids and I have dinner here once a week and love it! Great food and service!

Our go to local Mexican restaurant. The food is as authentic as you want it to be if you don't order the basics that you can make at home. Interior could use some upgrading (I know they have added some new additions to the booths in the dining area). But repainting the walls, changing out the wall decor, etc would be nice. I went here for lunch with my family. My dad ordered the chili relleno which was undercooked and he poured out a whole cup of grease. Which is gross. The service was very kind and gave us what we needed. I ordered the chalupa, bean burrito and tostada which was 2 on the Vegetarian Menu. It was alright, the burrito had barely any beans though, mostly dough. The tostada and chalupa were very good. To be honest I would go to this restaurant again, if I was desperate. read more

We had lunch fajitas and a lunch chimichanga, both came with rice and beans, the portion was large and was mostly meat. Service was good we also had white cheese which Mexican sausage, very delicious. Prices were very reasonable. read more

This is my second time to this restaurant but my first review. This restaurant is tucked away in the corner nestled between two smallish shopping centers. The exterior looks like something straight out of Mexico and so does the inside. It could use a little TLC but definitely has that "hole in the wall" feel. I had the shrimp tacos last time, which were absolutely delicious and made me come back. The restaurant wasn't overly busy for a Sat evening but the service was slow. We waited atleast 10 min before anyone even noticed us to take our drink orders. We finished about 2 baskets of chips before anyone bothered to take our order. (We were full of chips at this point). I did the KETO thing and ordered a taco salad with no shell and my S.O. got a #1 (he's real original) ;) Overall the food was good. Mexican is hard to mess up. They do have a lot to choose from and it looked like they offer different types of cocktails rather than just beer and margaritas. Heard from many that this was the place to go for Mexican in RH. Even by those standards, I can't talk up La Nopalera. The restaurant itself just felt sticky and dirty. Food was no better than Jalapenos, and is standard greasy tex-mex- nothing special. Prices were fair and portions were large, but did not make up for the unenthusiastic dishes and crummy atmosphere. read more

These reviews are very misleading in my opinion. This is my first time ever going to a Mexican restaurant and not even liking their rice. It was undercooked, Very hard! The refried beans you can tell was literally straight from the can with a little cheese added on top. I had Nopalera fajitas and the portions were off. I barely had anything but hard overcooked steak to eat. I literally wasted my money. I didn't even take my food to go which was more than half left over. The only thing that was fresh was the lettuce. It was $13.50. I guess not bad compared to what we would have paid in Hawaii. Not an authentic Mexican restaurant at all. Shameful.... read more

Have never been back to this place after I found a ROACH in my chicken taco!!!! They gave me $80 in gift cards to compensate me for my experience. I used it at the Savannah location and on drinks only Bc I refuse to ever eat at one of these places again. read more

OMG. This restaurant is the real deal of Mexican food. An authentic Mexican restaurant serves homemade refried beans and the refried beans here are out of this world. Authentic Mexican food just like my mom made, with friendly staff and servers. I'll be coming here every week for sure. read more

Don't listen to negative reviews. Been going here for almost 3 years. Food is great, cheap price, and Very Good Margaritas. Service "CAN" be slow if busy but you have to understand, this place can and does get packed! Always smiling faces ready to serve you. I will go to this as long as I live here! we had an old (?) man serving us and it took him over 30 minutes just to bring out our drinks. he completely messed up my order and and i think i saw him spit in our food before giving it to us. i saw him dancing while we were waiting for our drinks, and i have to say i was not impressed. if you're gonna dance instead of working at least be good smh. that's all thank you for listening to my ted talk. read more

Excellent find to get your fix on Tex-Mex and Central American cuisine. The salsa is satisfying with the tortilla chips and the Tacos are definitely worth the price. Try the Tamales as well. read more

The service was ok.... it's the 1st time have been here and when one of our plates came out it had 4 stands of hair cooked in it.. the staff is nice and it's a busy place, just sad that there was hair cooked in our food. read more

We LOVE La Nopalera!!! We go almost every Sunday after church. We also call in take out some nights as well. Warm, fresh chips, and great homemade salsa. Prices are great, and they have a good selection of vegetarian options as well. If you want a good, standard Mexican place, this is it! Never have any problems. read more

Good margueritas, great service, nice decor, great salsa. I had a delicious steamed fish with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes. It was cooked in aluminum foil - I think it was called Filete Veracruz. Waited over 15 minutes for service at the table. Took the drink and meal order and came back 10 minutes later. Spilled the entire tray of water all over me. They did nothing but freak out....we promptly left due to the horrendous service and well being soaked. The interior outdated and falling apart (ceiling tiles looked terrible). The whole restaurant could use a solid scrubbing as the floor was terribly dirty. I was not impressed, will not recommend to others, and will not return. read more

Came here for lunch! I were going to go to jalapeños but I wanted something different and I have passed by here before by never stopped! I'm primarily giving this review for the waitress. She worked so fast and hard and she really tended to our needs despite the heavy crowd coming in. The food was excellent and I didn't have to teach them how to make a margarita (which is normally the case.) The chips and salsa? Phenominal .. I would have given 5 stars except for 3 things.. The place was colder than a damp city jail cell (everybody was looking at each other like, "Is this actually happening?"), and there's a psychological something missing when you're given a margarita in a pint glass because it's not a beer or an iced tea, it's a "margarita" and I ordered a Chile relleno and was given just, a Chile relleno (no beans or rice) My friend ordered his tacos (on the side) so I can understand how the miscommunication was made. This could be prevented if she wasn't the only one working hard but it seemed like everybody's lack of attention leaves most of the detail work to her. The chips and salsa alone would make this place worth the visit and don't be afraid to complain because they are attentive just busy!! read more

Let's start with how crappy the waiter was. At least 30 mins before he took our order. When food arrived he just put it on the table and left not to return until about another 30 min. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend. I am glad I followed up on the recommendation. We arrived at 5:30 pm on a Friday night. Service was very prompt and attentive throughout. The chips and salsa were very fresh tasting, the freshly chopped cilantro put it over the top. My wife got the Carnival Soper and I got the steak and shrimp combo, with an additional Al Pastor taco. The taco was full of flavor and the corn tortillas tasted home made. The steak and shrimp were perfectly cooked and tender, the guacamole was fresh and flavorful and the side of house made "spicy"salsa was the perfect compliment to the meal. I prefer thing a little extra spicy so the added heat was nice. We live in Hinesville and will gladly travel 35 mins to make this our go to Mexican restaurant. I cannot wait to sample the rest of the menu. 1st impressions truly are lasting ones. I highly recommend this place. read more
