The tacos are HUGE! They all come on corn shells and are loaded with meat, with cilantro and onions. The beef was so tender and delicious. The chicken was equally tender and flavorful. The chorizo was very nice and mild - not too spicy. Everything was prepared fresh and served hot. Just delicious!!! The staff is super friendly and the place very clean and bright with about six tables. I'd highly recommend. The servers were part of the restaurant owner's family and were both incredibly nice. They do not provide complementary chips & salsa, which is fine, but I am noting that as a PSA. The menu prices are more than reasonable and the daily special prices are great. I ordered horchata and we started with family nachos with chicken. The horchata was good but I would've enjoyed it more with cinnamon garnishing the top. The portion size of nachos we received was generous and they serve with enough toppings for all of the tortilla chips (which were great!). They brought out a salsa verde and salsa roja. Both were delicious, and the red was much spicier than the green which they informed us of prior to placing them down at our table. My parents ended up ordering chicken burritos and I chose steak/beef fajitas. Burritos were served with shredded lettuce and tomatoes. They were short but stuffed with chicken, rice, beans, pico, sour cream, and guac. My mom couldn't finish hers, so I was able to eat the last little bit. Very enjoyable, more so than my fajitas. If I'm being honest I was disappointed in the fajitas and wouldn't order them again. Instead of coming out sizzling on a hot skillet, they came out on a plate sitting in liquid. The vegetables and steak weren't grilled. Flavor was okay but reminded me of frozen, bagged veggies. The fajitas were served with 3 tortillas, cheese, and sliced avocado. Our experience had pros and cons. The bill ended up being around $65 which I thought was affordable for the amount of food we received. Nachos / burritos were good and I'd stick with them during my next visit. Servers were nice and respectful. Fajitas were below average and the horchata wasn't served with any cinnamon on top. I tried to get a refund for the platter because I didn't know and to just keep the tacos but they apparently can't do it cause it's "paid online". You might as well don't get scammed like me and order the lunch version on their menu since it's a cheaper version of the "platter +2.99" without the extra charge. They also do not answer their phone often so that should've kind of been my red flag for this place. Service was not the best and had not only me but a lot of other people waiting for a long time to get their food. I used to order tamales: * Old owners - 3 tamales * New owners - 2 tamales for two dollars more. As a bonus kick in the pants - I was charged $5 for a side of extra queso fresco. I had to order this because of the minimal amount they now put on it. I was literally in shock. I could see 2 bucks, even 3, hell 4 is pushing it, but 5 dollars? Nope. The final straw came for me when I order 3 beef tacos and they came on tortillas that were insanely small. I'm talking 2 bites and gone. I asked the server, did they change tortilla styles, and she honestly didn't know. Also they're now 3 bucks more than they used for to be. The worst thing a place can do is charge more money for less food that by comparison is substandard to how it used to be. On top of that their kitchen's sheer inability to get even the simplest requests right, coupled with finding actual steel wool fragments in my taco meat the last time I ordered... sigh. I'm at a loss. Thankfully the previous owners opened up a New Mexican restaurant only 5 more minutes in driving distance from me and it was like going home again. We walked in and sat ourselves. The server came over with the menu and we decided to share the mixto fajitas. The server came and brought some complimentary chips and some beans with cheese on top. Very small serving but enjoyed the "starter". She then brought out our mixto fajitas with 3 homemade tortillas. They were a little thicker and puffier than regular tortillas. They were very good! We wished we had gotten one more so we could each have two. The amount of meat and veggies was perfect. Much more shrimp than I had anticipated. The shrimp were big, butterflied and flavorful. I can imagine other dishes on the menu being very good. The decor was festive. There is a TV that is blaring which was a little distracting. They have a few cases with drinks and some desserts and Mexican snacks. We would definitely go back.
