After my third time dinning here, how could this tasty Thai spot not get 5 stars! La Ong has standout dishes, deep curry notes, and excellent executed Thai menu items. Service is wonderful and prices are very reasonable for this BH establishment. Must try's on the menu are the Khai soi with beef and noodles, the geeen curry branzino, beef and jasmine rice, pad Thai and pad see ew , wings , and mango sticky rice. We grabbed a weekend dinner reservation during our trip here. We were greeted and brought to our seat right away. The waiter for our table was friendly and helpful with his tips for drinks much appreciated. After we put in our order, it was quite a wait for the food to come out though when they did, they all came out relatively close together. We ordered the pad thai, pad see ew, and curry dishes. The curry was my favorite and everything was overall was flavorful - if anything a touch salty/sweet depending on the dish. My favorite of the three was the curry. Cute restaurant in Beverly Hills. The table we were seated at had a slightly uncomfortable couch but all in all, recommended if you like thai food.

I love the quality of food but portion is small. I like the chicken wing the most - it's a double battered fried chicken with fish sauce. So crispy and delicious The tom yum fried rice was super special too. It was using purple fried rice and it adds a special creamy texture to the rice Sea bass green curry was so delicious too. We dined as a group of 5 and ordered many signature dishes on the menu to explore the diversity. Overall, the entrees such as crab fried rice are solid with rich flavors. But there are a few items, on that particular day, were just below the acceptable level. For examples, chicharron has a distinctive off-flavor associated with pork when the skins are not cleaned properly. We couldn't even finish after one bite. The sea bass in tom yum soup was clearly not fresh, emitting a noticeable off-flavor. Chicken wings are flavorful but the skins are fried too hard to bite easily. The server was kind enough to take the chicharron off the menu but it also feels like she didn't care to explain at all.

Was in the area and wanted a quick takeout dinner so made a pickup order through Seamless from La Ong. Got the Pad See Ew noodles dish with Shrimp. It was slightly on the salty side but very flavorful. Easy pickup, food was ready when promised and friendly staff.

This place opened a few years ago next to my office and my coworkers & I frequently order take out from here. Its moniker is derived after the chef's grandma and the dishes are based on her recipes. Everything is prepared with ingredients that are imported from Thailand or locally sourced. In the past I've had the Mee Krob, Brussels Sprouts, & Papaya Salad, which were all tasty. A recent order we shared consisted of Tom Yum Rice and Stir Fried Broccoli. With an infusion of Thai basil, Kaffir leaves, chili, & lime, the Tom Yum Rice was an interesting dish. It also contained scallops, shrimp, & crab, which I enjoyed. The stir-fried broccoli was also good. La Ong will continue to be a staple on our lunch order list.

i enjoyed the food here, but there were a couple hiccups during my meal... first, the food was delicious. the fresh green rolls were delicious, and i especially enjoyed the peanut sauce which had a nice kick to it. i ordered the garlic noodles with tofu, and the noodles were cooked well with a nice bite, the garlic flavor wasn't overwhelming, overall a balanced dish. and we finished with the mango sticky rice with coconut milk, which was pretty standard. however, the staff asked twice about allergies and i mentioned i am vegetarian. despite this, i was served garlic noodles with chicken :/ they replaced the dish without any issue, but i would be worried if someone really did have an allergy that this could be overlooked.

This is our go to spot for Thai food in Beverly Hills! Every time we arrive the host and hostess are always friendly and quick to seat us wherever we like. There's both seating in the restaurant or on the patio. You will be close to other people if you do sit on the patio, so if you are planning to have a private conversation it won't be TOO private. The place is very clean and has a nice little set up to it. There's even a little bar seating area you can sit at and order a thai ice tea while waiting for your order. They are pretty quick to take your order and the food comes out in a decent amount of time. I usually order the Sea Bass Southern Thai Curry Plate if I'm not that hungry or the Beef with Ginger Rice Plate with an iced black lychee tea or Thai ice tea depending on my mood. I can't even explain how good everything here is. You honestly can't go wrong with whatever you order and you will be satisfied. Trust ya boy! Anyway, it can get a little packed around lunch time but you shouldn't have any issues getting a seat. If you're in the area and in the mood for Thai, hit this place up. Oh, they separate checks too! I feel like that's something I should start mentioning in my reviews that would be helpful. OOOOO 5 out of 5 Afros

The spring rolls and fried chicken here is phenomenal!!!! I cannot recommend it enough and for my entree I got the khao soi which was also very delicious. My one complaint is that parking can get difficult in the area, though there are lots nearby.

Came here with reservations and was seated with little to no wait. The customer service here was great, the workers were nice and attentive. The food on the other hand was honestly nothing special. The papaya salad was lacking in zest and spice, it just tasted like peanuts and it was bland. The holy basil noodles was nothing we expected, the noodles were fried to the point where we thought they were chips. If you're looking for a noodle dish this is not it. The tom kha was good but the portion was tiny for its cost. I've definitely had better Thai food at a cheaper place, however I came because I wanted to treat my friend to a more upscale thai restaurant. The major flaw of this place was the insufferable scent of grease inside. I'm not sure if the vents weren't working or what was up, but the fumes of oil and grease were so strong. Me and my friend left with our hair and clothes smelling so greasy and fried. We got back to our friend's apartment and my other friend could instantly smell the greasiness when we walked by, it was suffocating.

Amazing. Every dish we ordered had so much flavor. I also love that the crispy egg rolls are cooked in clean oil. You can tell they take pride in their dishes and use quality ingredients. Seafood is always fresh (no smell) and herbs are so good! Came back a second time to order a bunch of dishes for my family and drove all the way down to OC to deliver. They loved it as much as I did. The pad Thai is very good however the service is excruciatingly slow. Very understaffed and very overwhelmed servers. It took 10 minutes to get someone to take my order which I said I know what I want when I walked in the door, probably another 25 minutes to get a regular pad Thai and then another 10 minutes to get extra limes, by which time it was cold, and I'm still waiting for that even though when they get here I'm just gonna ask for the check and a box so I can leave. Before ordering I literally said that I don't have a lot of time and I'm very hungry and if it will take more than 15 minutes to get the Pattaya then I will go somewhere else. She just said she will do the best you can. read more

I went there for my bday, unfortunately they do not serve what I had in mind , crisp pork and the steak salad, they bo longer serve the dishes anymore, so I ordered substitute, chicken and beef salad, thumb down for those, my daughter ordered cold noodles with curry, it was not too bad , then her bf got sticky rice , it would say nothing spectacular, Lastly we shared a dessert, the mango ice cream with sticky rice , again it wasn't like the traditional looking one like they showed on the Yelp photos, another thumb down. But the ambience is ok, and we had a good time anyway because I got my bday gift from my daughter and her bf , not all lost. read more

Had been wanting to come here for over a year but the experience was disappointing. I really liked our waitress and she was very helpful and friendly however the food was just "ok". I ordered 3 things, the wings, chicken satay and the Yom yum rice and only liked the Yom yum rice. The rice is delicious! The chicken satay is not served on a stick which is how I like it. Overall the chicken lacked flavor and the wings were luke warm and was nothing special. I was really looking forward to dessert and having the mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream, however they were out of the sticky rice. Disappointing! Won't be going back. read more

The food is fresh (including the vegetables) and flavorful. I prefer my food to have spice and seasoning but not have heavy sauces overwhelm the freshness of vegetables and the overall dish. I loved that the veggies are not over cooked and crunchy yet still soft enough to eat. I tend to hate coming into Beverly Hills (despite the great restaurants and shops) because of the traffic, parking, and how busy the area can get. But I was able to get seated right away (walk-in) and the environment is laidback and casual. read more

The food here is actually VERY good... ate here yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised ... my only issue was that the prices were very high for a smaller (not high end) local restaurant as compared to Mr. Chow and Crustaceans both within minutes of here. I worry for them that if they don't lower their prices about 15-20%, they'll go out of business like a lot of new restaurants here that can't keep up w the staples that have been here for years! read more

We were craving Thai food one night and decided to try this one out. Got lucky that it was later on during a weeknight and so we were able to find street parking. We were seated a bit late even though we had a reservation, but we were hungry so we quickly ordered. We ordered the Thai wings and green curry to share. While waiting for our food, a quick glance around the room showed that it is a fine place for a date night or a small dinner with friends. The Thai wings were incredible! Very hot, crispy, juicy chicken with a slight kick. Very flavorful, but can get a little messy when eating with your hands. The green curry was good, the eggplant and chicken were very tasty. The vermicelli noodles made it very filling. Overall very tasty food that would satisfy anyone's craving for Thai cuisine. I was just not a fan of the service because no one really ever came by to check up on us once our food came out. Water went without being refilled for a long time. Even took a while to receive our check. Would recommend and would come back if I had a really strong craving. read more

Delicious authentic Thai Food with great service and beautiful ambiance. Tasty vegetarian appetizer Mhee Krob started the evening just right. Mortar Rice and Beef with Ginger Rice were delicious and plentiful with leftovers to take home. Tender beef, large shrimp, fresh veggies with great Thai spices. Will return to try the sea bass and grilled chicken next time. Easy parking (free after 6pm across the street in parking structure). Wonderful newcomer to Beverly Hills! There are not many great casual restaurants in Beverly Hills but we came here with an open mind and we loved every dish we ordered. Succulent Thai Grilled chicken golden and juicy, Crispy chicken wings, Chile Prawns and Green wrap were all fragrant and simply delicious. Yummy!! Sis and I picked this spot as one for dinner for our trip. And let me just say it did not disappoint. Ordered the Brussel sprouts to start and WOW! Crispy fried egg on top was so good! What a wonderful restaurant!!! Thai food is an interesting cuisine. I like to say that food like this can only get so good. That means that you should never have to pay a lot of money for good Thai food since it's easy to find it for cheaper. However, with La ong, I truly felt that I got to experience Thai food on another level. The presentation was perfect. The food quality was excellent. And the flavors actually surprised me. Long story short: gentrified overpriced Thai food, appealing to the American palette. For anyone who knows remotely anything about Thai food, this food is bland, basic, watered down, and just plain bad along with the service. On a positive note, presentation was good. We dined here at 9pm on a Friday night. When we arrived there were a few parties seated, but we still made a reservation beforehand and were seated promptly. Ordered: Thai iced tea (watery and had almost no tea flavor), pad Thai (noodles were over cooked and clumped together), garlic noodles with chicken (I didn't even bother trying this), Tom yum fried rice (interesting idea poor execution as the Tom yum flavor was too light), green curry (bland, mild, no flavor development whatsoever), papaya salad (this was the biggest disappointed. It was watery and had absolutely no flavor), chicken wings (good crisp, mediocre sauce that tasted like sweet chili sauce from a bottle), larb (good tang from the lime, but again bland and boring), and mango sticky rice dessert (this was the best thing, and it was still quite mediocre. The coconut sauce was too sweet and tasted like it was cut with a lot of cornstarch, water, and sugar). All the while, our server passed by our table maybe twice, and refilled our water (which comes in tiny 6 oz glasses) once. At no point did they clear our empty plates, even when the dessert came when we were 70% done with the entrees. I definitely will not be returning. read more

Absolutely the best Thai food I have had in Los Angeles!!! Everything was very fresh, and perfectly cooked!! The chef is sharing her family recipes with us, and it all tastes like very good home cooking!! The brussel sprouts were very crispy, and not overly spicy because we requested them that way. The Pad Thai was not oily whatsoever, and the noodles were cooked al dente. The best I've ever had! I had never tried papaya salad, but I definitely will be getting that again, it had a very light, slightly sweet, slightly tangy dressing that did not contain any oil. The Tom kha kai, coconut soup was exquisite! It was served nice and hot and was definitely enough for two people. And for dessert, we had the mango sticky rice, we had to wait a little bit while they made it fresh for us, but it was worth the wait! It was served warm, with coconut cream and very tasty mango! What's great is it was gluten-free and dairy free as well. The portion sizes are abundant so we were able to share dishes and try a little of everything. We ate in outside patio and they had very comfortable chairs. It was not very crowded, so even though we're being careful because of Covid, we felt very safe. The hostess and the waiter were very attentive. We are looking forward to visiting again. read more

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! A must while in LA. I found this place because I'm gluten free and I heard they were careful and had lots of gf options and it exceeding our expectations. My husband is not gf and equally enjoyed everything we got. We got the Thai chicken wings (best chicken wings I've ever had), the chicharons (how could you go wrong), the chicken satay, and the Tom yum rice (the seafood in this dish was so fresh and high quality, the rice had amazing flavor and all of the aromatic details took it over the top.) We will be coming here anytime we visit LA from now on. Especially for those chicken wings. read more

Came 1/2 hour later than initially estimated. Missing a main item and others were cold and tasteless. Maybe delivery is not the best option for this overpriced restaurant. And hey La ong, Thai restaurants are plentiful in this neighborhood, it would be nice to at least get what I paid for. Two stars because the white rice was good, so I didn't go to bed hungry. Follow up to the above. La ong - It is cheap to blame Uber. The bag was stapled shut. It is your job to ensure items are in the bag. Uber does a fantastic job. Take responsibility for your mistake and oversight. You have time to immediately respond to a bad review, but you do not have time to ensure the proper food and quality within the bag. And yes, I had a fantastic night because I ordered a pizza. read more

When it finally arrived, it was delivered by a manager in a manner that felt dismissive rather than hospitable. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. While I understand the practice in some situations, it felt particularly disappointing given the level of service we received throughout the evening. MATŪ serves outstanding food, and that is what earns this review more than a few stars. However, hospitality is about more than what comes out of the kitchen. For a restaurant operating at this price point, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, it did not. I left impressed by the meal but disappointed by the overall dining experience, and I'm not sure I would return.

Even the bread service was remarkable, particularly the focaccia, which was the standout among the three varieties offered. For our entrées, we enjoyed the Marubini, Spaghetti, Mafaldine, and Casarecce, all of which were fantastic. The house-made pastas were each cooked to perfection and showcased the kitchen's exemplary technique and care. We also shared the Fagiolo, Peperone, and Patate as vegetable sides, and each one was excellent. We concluded our meal with a trio of house-made gelati for a sweet finish. The sweet cream and pistachio flavors were both especially memorable and well worth saving a little room for. Sure, but I don't have to be a repeater of this restaurant to be honest as there are many other restaurants with similar quality (if not better) of food for more reasonable price.

We visited this restaurant, where we've dined before, expecting the usual quality service that's matched the good food in the past. However, our recent experience was shockingly poor and left us deeply disappointed. After being seated at the far back due to bringing a service dog, we waited over five minutes with no acknowledgment from any of the servers. Despite several staff members walking right by us, no one stopped to take our order or even offer water, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. After multiple ignored attempts to get attention, we had no choice but to raise our voices slightly to get help. Finally, a server approached, but instead of assistance, we were met with a rude, dismissive attitude. She scolded us for "yelling" and gave us a harsh, unwelcoming look that made the entire dining experience uncomfortable. This treatment went beyond unprofessional; it was disturbing and soured our entire night. This was not the level of service we expected, especially after positive past experiences. We understand the demands on restaurant staff, but basic attentiveness and respect are essential--particularly when patrons are seated out of immediate view. I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Ong Thai in Beverly Hills. From the moment I stepped in, I was struck by the wonderful ambiance--it's cozy, warm, and has that perfect mix of modern and traditional Thai decor. The food? Every dish was a masterpiece. I started with the chicken sate, paired with some tangy pickled cucumbers. The chicken was tender and full of flavor, and the pickles added a refreshing crunch. Next up was the tuna steak with peanut chili sauce. The sauce had a nice kick, complementing the perfectly cooked tuna. The crispy pork with watercress was another highlight--crunchy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the watercress added a nice, slightly peppery bite. The green curry with eggplant and Thai basil was the star of the night. It was rich, creamy, and bursting with authentic Thai flavors. I had it with some noodles on the side, and it was a match made in heaven. The presentation of each dish was just as impressive as the flavors--everything looked as good as it tasted. On top of all that, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. I've visited this restaurant several times and always appreciated the food, but my recent experience was extremely disappointing due to poor service. My party was seated at the very back, and despite waiting over five minutes and attempting to signal multiple servers, no one attended to us. When we finally raised our voices to get attention, a server approached with a dismissive attitude, scolded us for "yelling," and made us feel unwelcome with unfriendly body language. This encounter was unlike anything we've experienced here before. We understand and respect the busy nature of restaurant work, but when the restaurant was quiet and staff repeatedly ignored us, it felt disheartening and frustrating. I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Ong in Los Angeles, and overall, I had a great experience! The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and intimate, which was a nice touch. The service was also excellent - our waiter was attentive and friendly, making sure that we had everything we needed throughout the evening. As for the food, there were definitely some standout dishes. The chicken satay and garlic noodles were both delicious and expertly prepared. The cocktails were also creative and well-made. While the larb dish wasn't my favorite, it was still pretty good and it was nice to have a variety of options to choose from on the menu. Overall, I would recommend La Ong for a night out with friends. The ambiance, service, and delicious food make it a solid choice for a memorable evening. read more

The food at this newly opened restaurant is both delicious and innovative. Our server was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, enhancing our dining experience. We had the pleasure of trying several dishes, including the Beef with Ginger Rice, Garlic Noodles with Chicken, Sea Bass Southern Thai Curry, and Thai Basil Noodle. Each dish showcased creativity and bold flavors, leaving us impressed. However, while all four dishes were enjoyable, the Sea Bass lacked a bit in flavor and could have benefited from more curry sauce. Despite this, the overall dining experience was fantastic. It's worth noting that the prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food justifies the cost. Overall, it's a great spot for a memorable meal. read more

Highly disappointing experience. The male server displayed an unprofessional attitude and made discriminatory remarks. He incorrectly stated that, under California law, only individuals with physical disabilities--such as missing limbs--qualify for service animals, and that my licensed Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD) did not count. This is both inaccurate and offensive. To make matters worse, there was a spider in my food. When I brought it to his attention, he refused to apologize, claiming it wasn't intentional--as if that excused the issue. The lack of accountability and respect was truly unacceptable. read more

Nice little Thai spot in Beverly Hills. Normally plenty of metered street parking across the street. I love the ambiance.Their food was delicious - we had the brussel sprouts and the mint fresh rolls. The pad see ew and the ginger rice and beef which were all amazing. For the location, great price for the portions they serve.A side note is they don't sell wine by the glass it's by the bottle. Other than that no complaints. read more

We stumbled upon a charming Thai restaurant near Rodeo Drive, though it took us a while to locate it as the sign wasn't very visible. After circling the block a few times, we finally found it, and the food was absolutely worth the search! Plus, the service and ambiance were superb, adding to the overall delightful experience. Very trendy Thai restaurant that you wouldn't get from any other place. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff. The foods were amazing. Would highly recommended the grilled chicken. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Can't wait to go back and try other menus. read more
