Amazing food, amazing atmosphere, and incredible service from Oy! I keep coming back here and will continue because it is such a good vibe!

First visit to Emporium Thai and I already know this won't be my last. I walked in solo with a tight window between shows, which meant I had to be strategic. No leftovers, no over-ordering... a true test of discipline at a place like this. Started with a Thai iced tea that hit exactly right. Balanced, not overly sweet, and generously poured. Service throughout the meal was excellent. Attentive without hovering, and the pacing was spot on. I never felt rushed, which is rare when you're clearly on a clock. For my appetizer, I went with the Phuket wings. As someone who takes wings seriously, I can say these stood out. Crispy, flavorful, and coated in a Southern Thai curry sauce I hadn't experienced before. Rich, slightly sweet, with a depth that kept me going back for "just one more." For the main, I took the server's recommendation and ordered the Thai beef salad to balance things out. Smart call. The dressing leaned creamier than what I usually expect, but it worked. Bright, flavorful, and layered. I'll be honest, I couldn't quite finish it, but the beef didn't stand a chance. Every last bite. Dessert sealed the deal. The mango sticky rice, now famously known as the Cardi B Mango Sticky Rice, lived up to the hype. Perfectly ripe mango, warm sticky rice, and that coconut sauce tying it all together. Simple, classic, and done right. The space itself tells a story. Walls lined with photos of the owner alongside celebrities from all over. But what stood out more than the photos was the man himself. He made his way around the room, greeting guests, checking in, bringing real warmth to the experience. No hierarchy, no pretense. Everyone gets treated like they belong. Twenty-six years in and I'm just now discovering this place? Better late than never. Next time, I'm bringing a group and ordering everything family style. That's the move. read more

Long story short, pricey for very little portions and Thai food that doesn't impress :/ Seeing all the celebrity pics, my friends thought we'd give it a try but were underwhelmed by the portion of the food we got for the prices they charge. Everything tasted fine, but not as flavorful or 'seasoned' as how other Thai restaurants are. We recommend their traditional Pad Thai, as well as trying their Spicy Eggplant. I don't recommend the Massaman Curry as it didn't have much curry flavor and the coconut milk they put in basically overpowered the entire dish. Service was good, and ambiance was a modern minimal take. Street parking. If I were to recommend Thai food, I'd probably recommend driving more west towards the San Gabriel Valley area. read more

I'm sorry, I don't know where the reviews come from, but I recently (within 6 months) dined there, and this restaurant is filthy. This restaurant has always had a decent reputation in LA but never five-star. The service is OK and the food is mediocre. Not the best Thai you can find in LA that is for sure. I would recommend Natalie Thai. But what struck me as more disturbing is how unclean this restaurant is. I know it is an old restaurant, but that doesn't mean that they should not look under the tables behind the booths... This restaurant needs a deep cleaning. I will never return. read more

This is a review for their catering as we didn't eat at the location. We had a large sales meeting with some out of town people so we ordered a few stereotypical Thai items from Emporium to feed everyone over lunch. We all gobbled up 2+ plates each and had a ton of leftovers. They definitely do not skimp on portions when ordering catering. All of the food tasted fresh and flavorful. You could taste all of the spices and seasonings well while not having to get through a ton of grease and oil. I really think they nailed the balance of everything in all of the dishes. If I did have one minor gripe, I will say that this stuff might not travel the absolute best. I'm not completely sure how much time passed between it getting piked up and consumed, but a lot of the items, especially those with noodles, were sticking together when trying to serve which means if you wanted a small portion...you got a big one. I know that's more on us for not eating right away, but I would've also hoped that with a catering order they would have accounted for this a bit more. In all, Emporium Thai was a fantastic lunch to break up a long business meeting. I absolutely cannot wait to go to the actual restaurant and try their dishes fresh out of the kitchen (& whenever I do find myself there I will update my review accordingly. read more

The street parking was pretty manageable. Bring coins or text to pay! I love this Thai spot. The chicken satay is so original & has lots of spices. Panang curry is very flavorful and the chicken is good. I did level 4 & I can eat level 7 for sure! My boyfriend ordered Thai basil with chicken and he loved it too. We also ordered string beans with garlic and it was so good but a bit oily. The music is gentle and calming. I like the area too. I'll definitely come back again when I'm in the area. read more

I absolutely loved this place!!! From start to finish, everything about this experience was amazing, and it's officially my go-to spot for Thai food anytime I'm in Beverly Hills. Our waitress, Smile, was soooo sweet and attentive, she truly made the whole night feel special. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and the experience she provides! Now let's talk about the FOOD... because wow. Everything we ordered was straight up bomb. I started with the lychee martini (10/10, so refreshing), then we had the satay chicken appetizer which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. For mains, the pad see ew with beef was sooo good--super savory and satisfying. But the real standout was the southern curry with chicken. They told us it's a family recipe passed down for generations and you can absolutely taste the love in it. It was rich, comforting, and honestly a must-try like they recommend! More relaxing than their new sister restaurant on Sawtelle. The dim low lighting & softer music helped. Even made cozier with the lowered ceiling. A similar warm welcoming appeared at the entrance. Wish I had stuck to spicy level 2. Sniffling prevented me from fully enjoying the food! Hooked on the vegan papaya salad. The bright citrusy notes remain refreshing. The portion size seemed larger than the Sawtelle branch. However maybe because it was on the DINE LA menu then. Being a UCLA grad the UCLA vegan curry was irresistable though a bit pricey. Probably most expensive veg curry ever. A tad too sweet for my taste. Disappointed there were not more veggies/pumpkin in it. Would have been happier if there were more chunky veggies inside the curry. Will stretch it for my work dinners this week by adding other cooked veggies. Minor detail, was not asked what type of rice I preferred. No thanks to the crunchy white rice. Would have liked brown rice instead. read more

They have a large selection of menu items, and it gets busy during dinnertime. If visiting soley for the food, I would suggest coming for lunch because there's less of a wait - otherwise the restaurant's evening ambiance seems fitting for a date night/celebration. The curries were good, and the pad thai was sweeter than my personal preference. I enjoyed the chicken dishes more than the beef, which was a bit chewy. There is only street parking. read more

I was so excited to finally dine in at Emporium Thai in Westwood! I've seen them at several events serving small bites, but this was my first time experiencing the full sit-down meal and it did not disappoint. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and everything was flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with care. My top favorites were the Grilled Softshell Crab, Tom Kha Seafood, Chef's Special Pad Thai Prawn, Grilled Chilean Seabass, and their fluffy donuts for dessert. The flavors were perfectly balanced, rich but not too heavy and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The Thai Iced Coffee was strong and sweet just the way I like it, and the Jasmine Green Tea complemented all the dishes nicely. Emporium Thai is my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is amazing. Some of the drinks are so good that they are dangerous. John, the owner, and Honeybee, the manager and John's niece, are so nice and welcoming. Parking, though street only, is actually relatively easy to find. I have been to Emporium Thai a few times, and my favorite dishes are the Phuket wings, Thai crab curry, and Cardi B mango sticky rice. The wings are crispy with a little spice kick, and the Southern curry on top is the perfect way to round out that spice. The Southern curry is good by itself, but crab meat adds a layer of sweet richness to it. The mango sticky rice is the best that I have ever had. The condensed milk sauce is light and not overly sweet, and it pairs perfectly with the sweet and ripe mango. Emporium Thai has received plenty of awards and recognitions. Plenty of celebrities and famous people have dined at Emporium Thai; once you enter the door, the wall to the right is filled with pictures of John and the celebrities who have visited. I have high expectations every time I go to Emporium Thai, and I have yet to be disappointed. read more

Pad thai woonsen seasoned very well I enjoyed every bite into the glass noodle. The sauce in the thai basil crispy pork is quite addictive but the pork is not crispy at all so that's a bit disappointing. Thai iced coffee is too sweet for me but it's refreshing. This place ranks high on my personal Thai food scale. I came here with two friends who recently got engaged, making it the perfect setting to catch up and celebrate. After spending the day watching the Los Angele Chargers Training Camp, I had worked up quite the appetite, and this meal hit the spot. The lunch specials are affordable and generous, which is always a plus. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated. The staff was kind and attentive throughout our visit. We recently dined at Emporium Thai, and while the overall experience wasn't bad, there were a few highs and lows worth sharing. Ambience: The inside dining area is definitely the better pick -- cozy and less noisy. It had a more welcoming vibe compared to the main dining setup. Food: Be very careful with the spice levels! We initially ordered a spice level 4 out of 10, thinking it'd be mild to medium -- but it was extremely spicy. Even level 3 packed serious heat. We finally settled on level 2, which was more manageable. If you're not a spice warrior, start low! That said, the papaya salad and mango salad were refreshing and delicious. The mango sticky rice was a solid closer -- sweet, creamy, and well-balanced. Drinks were also on point and complemented the meal nicely. (We got Mezcal based drink and Lychee Martini) Unfortunately, the Phuket wings didn't quite hit the mark -- kind of meh and forgettable. Service: Could've been better. A bit slow and not very attentive, we struggled a bit. Overall: Not a bad experience, but there's definitely room for improvement -- especially in terms of service . The restaurant definitely has a reputation, which made us curious to see if it lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, our experience didn't quite match the expectations. The biggest downside was the portion size--very small, especially considering the high prices. We ordered Pad Thai, Massaman Curry, Mango Coconut Salad, the Tom Yum Beer, and a happy hour cocktail. * Pad Thai was basic and not particularly flavorful, though the shrimp included were good quality. * Massaman Curry had a nice flavor overall but seemed to be missing a depth of spice that would've made it more memorable. * Mango Coconut Salad was overly sweet, with a finger-sized mango slices and only a faint hint of coconut--it didn't feel balanced at all. * Tom Yum Beer was the most unique item we tried--tasted exactly like Tom Yum soup, which was interesting and fun to try. * Happy Hour Cocktail was disappointing: mostly ice, served in a small glass, with very little alcohol. We did notice the owner (or at least the man featured in all the celebrity photos) was there, busy attending to a large party in a separate room, walking back and forth the whole time. Our own server, however, was very kind and attentive. One small detail--there's no chili oil available; if you want extra spicy, they offer sambal sauce upon request. Parking is street only. In my personal opinion, the restaurant feels overrated. It seems to rely more on its celebrity clientele and image rather than focusing on delivering truly great food. One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Westwood! I've been to Emporium Thai multiple times but this was the first time I was able to come for their happy hour. Came here with a friend due to a craving for Thai food and wanting to take him some place he's never tried before. We were greeted by the kind hostess who was energetic and Knowledgeable. She gave us the menu and explained popular dishes as well as dishes we could order from the happy hour menu. We ended up ordering the wings, crab Rangoon and the Pas See Ew. Each dish came out in an amazing time and was so flavorful and portions were large. I'm glad I got to take him here for his first time and he really enjoyed it. The restaurant always has a home feeling to it and our hostess explained to us that Emporium Thai has been around for decades. I love the look of the restaurant and how it's decorated as well!
