    Enchilada plate

The picture of beans lured me to this place. It has been a while, a long while since I had such a delicious authentic Mexican food. The salsa and chips open us to a promise of more yummy food. The salsa was spicy but just enough amount... then our food came. The chips were warm.... Kids ordered a special burritos which was a big as a pillow. I split an enchilada plate with my beautiful wife. The beans! The beans! They were extra creamy. The youngest had the taquitos and enjoyed them. Overall, the food and service were excellent! Can't wait to come back and explore more of the menu.

Probably the best Mexican food in the Central Coast!!! Yes, it really is that good. If you're ever in the area make sure you stop by and give them a try. Absolutely fabulous!!!

Excellent service right off the bat. There was one server who was holding it down, taking orders, getting drinks, refilling without asking, etc. We were a large party of 8, and she was always one step ahead of the game, making it look easy, even when we asked for extra salsa, napkins, etc. and did it all with a smile. I believe her name is Lizbet? Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh and full of authentic flavor. They ought to be famous for their homemade tortillas because they were perfect. The taquitos with chicken and beef were great, tacos de camarones, very good as well as the pozole especially with the chile de aceite. So good. We'll be back for sure!

That giant special buro with carne asada was sooooo good!! The green sauce on top had so much flavor. Perfect burrito with a beer!

We stayed at the Baywood Inn and breakfast at La Palapa is included. The choices aren't many but omg the food is delicious! I'm not sure why the reviews are mixed but the service was always great and with a smile while the restaurant ambiance felt homy and inviting. The breakfast burrito is gigantic! We also tried the pork carnitas omelette with chile verde sauce which was amazing! We were so full from breakfast that it held us over till dinner. Coffee as damn good too!

Chicken fajitas, no rice, just beans (our preference), and tortillas.

Excellent food. When arriving, be prepared to wait a little bit to be seated-it's totally worth it and the staff is very nice.

Not always the case at restaurants.... Warm, chewy house made bread and butter. The strawberry salad was fantastic, with unexpected hints of mint. The clam chowder was creamy and full of claws. Kids enjoyed their salmon and sliders off the children's menu. I had the sand dabs, which were drizzled with a nice lemon caper sauce. I don't encounter sand dabs on a menu often,so that was a treat. A generous portion, too, at around 8 Oz. The ambiance was fun, with music playing inside and outside. Great dimmer hope do dine at Lure again next time I'm in SLO.

I was halfway through a really good meal, enjoying myself, and then there it was. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. I also couldn't eat one more bite. The food itself was delicious and full of flavor. My pad see-ew was rich and caramelized from the sweet soy sauce, loaded with veggies and silky bits of egg. The Thai iced tea was perfect on a warm evening. I also love their cozy outdoor seating tucked just down the street from the bay. Note: there's no indoor seating. The hair was most likely an isolated incident, but it still happened to me. And what sucks is how easily this could be avoided. The woman who handed me my food, who I'm pretty sure was the chef, had very long black hair pulled up, but not fully secured. If it had been, this would've been a five star review instead of an extremely disappointing two. There's nothing wrong with this place, but hair wrapped around your noodles is simply unacceptable.

My partner got the bread bowl clam chowder and others in my party got the halibut fish tacos. The chicken strips were just basic regular chicken strips, but not bad. Those that had the clam chowder said it was "A+" and some said they really liked the large clam chunks in the chowder. The fish tacos had large pieces of fish and everyone was very happy with their tacos, some saying it was "to die for." We will definitely be back! The patio seating was lovely and they had live music that was such a nice touch. One of the employees was actively going around and cleaning tables and offering bowls of water to the dogs! She was super nice. Many of the patio tables also have small leashes so you could put your dog on that and not have the dog get all wrapped up in their regular leash. Very dog friendly! There's a line to order, but it moves fairly fast. We had the halibut fish sandwich (recommended over the cod since it's local), the clam chowder in a bread bowl, the sautéed shrimp taco, and fries. The only miss for me was the taco - only 2 small shrimps, a bone-dry slice of lime, and instead of salsa you get a thousand-island-ish cream sauce on the side. Some kid was throwing fries at the birds, which was annoying because it made them swarm over the tables (also...maybe teach your kids to not feed wildlife?) but the staff ignored it so I had to politely ask his dad to stop the feeding frenzy.

We had the salted edamame & vegetable tempura for appetizers, & shared the itchy dragon & firecracker rolls.
