Some of the best food and people in town. Everything he makes is excellent and made with love. Get yourself over there and try their excellent breakfast and lunch.

Our selections of the Shroom burger and a Tri Tip sando tasted great. The burger came 'medium' and was juicy but not greasy at all; the tri-tip meat was very tender. Their fries are not crinkle-cut as advertised, but thick-cut and coated with an inviting batter. Beer, wine & hard seltzers are available. Service was reasonably good and friendly.

I bit into it and it was like biting a rock. It was our first time at this place and it was disappointing and gross. The young man at the register was also very much in his own world. We got the brooks burger and brew and the kid didn't get us the beers for 15min and finally my husband had to go ask for them. Kid was on his phone and then kept saying let me just get this customer and then he would get back on his phone. Very odd vibe. Once I bit into the black plastic in my burger I felt not so good and went to the bathroom which was absolutely the worst bathrooms I've seen. Worse than a park bathroom. Made me even more grossed out because, if the bathroom looks like that.... A place customers see, then what does the places like the kitchen look like????!!! Needless to say we as locals will never be going back ever. Honestly I think they need a visit from the health inspector's office.

The slaw bowls are reasonably priced and satisfying, the menu has a nice variety, and who I think is the owner is very friendly and welcoming and enthusiastic - like a guy that seems like would be fun to hang out with and talk about anything. It's upstairs and probably easy for some to miss as it's the only thing upstairs, but they post signs outside and inside near the stairs, and they've been here awhile, so it must be doing well. As you can see, the slaw bowl comes with a good amount of protein, a few chips, and a variety of ingredients to go on top of the slaw. I've had chicken in the past, which is also good. Just one piece of chewy meat this time, which happens. Flavor is very good and satisfying and the slaw keeps things feeling pretty light and healthy. I've had burritos in the past too, and those are more filling. There's ample seating area as well, with a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. Self-serve drink taps for soda and to get water. Always enjoy coming here and I'm sure we'll eat here many more times in the future. I just need to venture out a bit and try more menu items.

With those items we tried their mild, hot, and avocado salsa's that did a nice job of adding to the flavors of our entrees. We also tried the chips and guacamole that we really liked, and you get a lot of guacamole for the price. The young man who took our order gave us a great explanation of how they prepare the salsa's and took us through the preparation of the meats and seafood items. This place is in the second floor of the SLO Public Market with lots of seating both indoor and outdoor. We are definitely glad we tried this place.

Fabulous meal, so delicious. The flavors, the presentation -- off the charts. Lucas K. was the best server. Here, not here, but with perfect timing and in the perfect ratio, know what I mean? Asked the bartender if they had a good stout. He let me taste test the one they had on tap -- Ales Smith Speedway Stout (out of San Diego). Notes of chocolate and coffee.... Oh...sooo good. Unfortunately, the service from one particular waitress hasn't matched the quality of the restaurant. Each time we've had her, she's made us feel a bit uncomfortable certain remarks and her unwelcoming attitude. On one visit, we were left unattended for most of our stay and were only able to order appetizers before she disappeared. When she returned, she assumed we were done ordering instead of asking if we wanted anything else. As a business manager I hope the service improves because the food and vibe are definitely worth it.

I opted to do a trio with the bahn mi, tip o' Argentina, and the garlic fries. The food was good I forgot to take a picture! The tip o' Argentina was solid with the garlic aioli and the chimmichurri perfectly complimenting the steak and the lettuce and tomato adding a little bit of freshness. The buns they use for all of their sliders are soft, slightly sweet, and don't fall apart while you're eating. The Bahn Mi was even better. I love pork but was a little skeptical about pulled pork on a slider riffing on the flavors of a bahn mi. To my surprise and delight, it tasted just like grilled Vietnamese pork, which was perfectly complimented by the fresh and pickled veggies and surprisingly hot jalapeño. Finally, I got the garlic fries which were a massive portion, crisp, and very garlicky. Everything was good and with such a large and customizable menu, I'd definitely return if I was in the area again. I also want to give a shout out to the bartender, Kelsey. I sat at the bar and her service was attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. We got the opportunity to chat for a bit and I loved her vibe, so definitely consider sitting at the bar if you're dining solo or with a friend.

Soooo...Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach is apparently now their only venue (the location on Tank Farm…read moreroad in SLO changed a while back to "Petras"). We were sorry to see that location close down and extend our sympathies to Dallas (Owner) at having to close that location down (good help is so hard to find). Regardless, it won't keep us away from Brooks...cause the food is still "bangin". Yesterday's order was to go...we always ate "in" at the SLO location (just a "nicer ambiance") but always "take out" from Pismo (not thrilled with the fact that there is an added "take out fee" for this on your bill). Jaxon was our Order/Cashier associate on this occasion. He was personable in service and knowledgeable with regard to menu offerings. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I expected at 7PM but it took "a bit" to get the order out. Nevertheless..it was "on the money accurate" (exactly what we ordered/wanted) and that in my opinion...is worth waiting for. Our order : 2X Black and Blue Salads (4/5...yummy) and a Crispy Chicken Combo with Tater Tots (5/5...delicious). I had a "Combo Coupon" ($10 Combo instead of regular price), but still the bill was basically $43 dollars. Somewhat of a "value factor" because with a salad each, we were able to share the Crispy Chicken and were completely satisfied with our meal. Dallas (Owner) was already gone for the day, so we missed saying "hi". In this Yelper's opinion...on this "take-out" occasion because the food is still really "bussin", Brooks Burgers in Pismo Beach truly earned this 4 Star review.
