We really enjoy coming here for food and fresh smoothies--it's become one of our favorite spots. There's an older employee who is incredibly sweet, always friendly, and great at recommending new things to try. She truly makes every visit enjoyable. That said, we've had a different experience on other days. At times, the service can feel less welcoming, and during our most recent visit, we were told the location was only offering to-go orders and closing early. When we mentioned the posted hours (which showed closing at 9:00 PM), we were informed they were closing earlier and that the hours online may need to be updated. We understand that things come up, but clearer communication and consistency in service would really help maintain the great experience we know this place can offer. We still enjoy coming here and hope to continue having positive visits in the future. read more

I loved coming here back in the day! This restaurant isn't as good as it used to be though, something changed. Parking isn't a hassle. Got 2 milanesa tortas and 2 licuados which came out to $37! Tortas and juices are spectacular here!!! It's a small place so try to come just before or after lunch hour to avoid a big wait. Not too much seating. Just a couple booths. This place has yet to let me down, been coming here since I was a kid. Their Tortas have such a unique taste, they toast the bread with butter before making the torta. During a pandemic, this business is disgusting.The cashier was not wearing gloves, took our money, didn't wash her hands nor sanitize them, made our drink and gave it to us. Then the cook was not wearing gloves and even pressing our food with his bare hands while putting every condiment on what we ordered all without gloves. They tried to justify themselves that they have been already checked and that there is no problem with not wearing gloves while taking cash and with making the food. La Palapa always provided a good torta in the past for me. Jamon, pavo, asada, pastor, you name it. Any one of them would be a good choice and was at a decent price. You got a monster of a torta for under $7. I stopped going when I noticed quite a few flies buzzing around the area where they prepared the food. The door is always left open and discovering them on the VC Enviromental Health department restaurant temporary closure list just prevented me from ever eating here again.
