The charro beans didn't taste Tex Mex enough, it was all sausage and like a ranch flavor My wife had the Presidente enchiladas. I tasted them and again all the flavor comes from the sauce on top. My mother in law's Cozumel Chicken Salad looked really pretty. I didn't take a bite though because that would've been weird. I like Gringo's and would come back to this location. We had good service and the restaurant was clean and well kept. I love that they offer red and green salsa, although their chips are a little thicker than I like. Overall it's a decent meal at a reasonable price... and the margaritas are fantastic, I really thought about getting one but can't let the mother in law think I'm a drunk.

Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance was somewhat underwhelming compared to my expectations. However, I was hopeful that the tacos would redeem the experience. The gentleman at the counter was friendly and provided useful information, which was a nice touch for my brother and me. We decided to order a variety of tacos: lengua, fajita, barbacoa, and chicharrón. Unfortunately, the meat was disappointingly bland, lacking the seasoning that would elevate the flavors. We found ourselves reaching for salt to enhance the taste. Additionally, the meat seemed slightly overcooked, giving it a texture reminiscent of something that had been left too long under a heat lamp. The salsa bar, which could have offered some relief, was disappointingly limited in options, leaving us longing for more variety to complement our tacos. I went to SHSU for college and coming from a town where there was a taco truck at every corner, I was in search of some real Mexican tacos. My friend introduced me to this place and I didn't look any further! Every time I make a trip to Huntsville or Conroe, I make it a point to eat here. So good! Only downside now is that it's been getting more and more expensive over the years. I believe it's at $2.25/taco now but I'm usually good with two or three since they fill them up with A LOT of meat. cebolla asada is amazing too and they have it out for you to choose how much you want to take as well as the salsas read more

Best tacos around! My buddy and I make the 20 min drive once a week for the beef fajita and chicken tacos. They serve onions on the side that are grilled (incredible)! The salsa bar is never disappointing. We will continue coming here! Great staff as well. read more
