Our first time visiting here. The restaurant is clean, the music is not too loud, there are two televisions, and the decor is really nice. The bathrooms were very clean too. The food was really good too. First, their salsa for the chips was exceptionally GOOD!! not the typical tomato, onion and chile. We ordered fried mojarra al mojo de ajo with a special request for it not to be too crunchy or over fried and my husband devoured it. I ordered the chile relleno dinner plate and it was really good. I wasn't sure why it had jalapeños on it. I just moved them to the side. Their home made limón con pepino drink was delicious, it wasn't too sweet, it was perfect. My husband liked his michelada. I've been here three times now. The first two visits were delicious and the third was not that great. My first visit I ordered menudo with pata and it was great. The caldo was rich, hominy was tasty and the meat was tender without any weird smell. Second visit I ordered green enchiladas. I had a chicken and a cheese. Those were really tasty and cheesy. The chicken was moist. The beans on that plate were just okay but the rice was wonderful; it had a lemony little punch and well seasoned. My third visit was an order of chicken nachos ... ugh... man I was excited for those but they were very very dry. It was a mound of tortilla chips with the typical toppings and chicken but they desperately needed some kind of salsa, or queso sauce, or something. I used the complimentary salsa they serve at the start but it was like ... I was kinda tired of that flavor lol because I was eating it when I got there. Over all, the service has been fair. You can tell a lot about a Mexican restaurant based off their chips and salsa. Their salsa was no basic rojo or verde salsa. It was perfect: not too spicy but just enough kick to keep me wanting to dip my chips for more. My wife, our 8 month old babygirl, and I felt welcomed by the owner. He provided great service and was very attentive. We ordered the Tinga taquitos and the trio taco platter. The tinga had a lot of flavor as well as the asada from the trio tacos. We came hungry and left very satisfied. We will definitely be coming to try out their breakfast menu. read more

Best Menudo I've Ever Bought! Aside from my family's menudo, this is the best I've had. The only thing they're missing is the tortillas hechas a mano. Definitely not worth 11.95. BFF ordered chicken mole and he automatically thought it would be white meat (got a thigh and a drumstick). His plate came with rice and beans and he didn't care for it. Chips and some spicy salsa are served complimentary and the salsa was pretty good. He ordered the mango margarita with a Tajin rim (on the rocks not frozen) and I had a regular margarita (stated as lemon on the menu). Both were tasty. I was randomly browsing through restaurants in the area and I discovered an interesting dish called molcajete. I'd never had molcajete before, and I've only eaten cactus once ever. I searched for various restaurants that serve molcajete in the area, and I decided to go to this restaurant in Montebello. It's a small, cozy hole in the wall restaurant, with ample distancing between tables for safety. They have complimentary nachos with salsa, and on Saturdays they have a special deal for 2 mimosas for the price of one, which we ordered. I ordered the land and sea molcajete for one to share with my wife, with the intent of ordering more dishes if that dish alone was not enough. The portion size, even for one, was quite generous. We loved the nopal, and it was quite buttery and delicious. The jalapenos added a kick without being overpowering. The steak, chorizo, chicken, and giant pieces of shrimp were all amazing. The salsa was full of flavor bot too spicy but just right to be able to enjoy it and indulge alongside an over easy egg i cannot describe the perfect combo in words. Every bite was a delight. Try out the micheladas as well their mix is delicious not tomatoey but more flavorful and full of life w a corona nice and cold typically I'm very judgemental when it comes to micheladas but palomas grill nails it.
